That Friday Feelin’

Next the Lacy Perfection

To show off the low rise waist of my pants, I knew I wanted a cropped top, but I just couldn’t find one in my inventory that was the right hue.  Of course, this meant one thing………shopping!  As per my usual on Fridays, I checked out this week’s offerings for Fifty Linden Friday, and spotted the Pico Top in Sunny from A N E  Main Store, and I knew this was just what I was looking for!  With a light, airy texture perfect for my escape to summer, cute little side ties draping down, and a buttery hue that seemed to be made to go with my bell bottoms, I happily paid the 50L and teleported home to try it on.  Sometimes the color on the vendor picture is not quite a match for the actual hue of the item, so I crossed my fingers.  It was a perfect match!  Actually, the folder contains two versions of the Pico top, so you get a brown color as well as the sunshiney shade.   The shirt is made specifically for the Maitreya body, so if you have a different body type, it might not work for your avatar.  The only caveat is, this is a deal for Friday only, so if you like this top as much as I do, scurry on down to the shop before it’s too late!

Ripley has been worriedly eyeing my balancing act on these old timbers, so I’d better hop down before he goes into full blown rescue mode.  He is itching to go off and explore the rest of the Soul 2 Soul sim.  It’s so beautifully landscaped and we are both eager to check it out.  Until my next post, happy shopping!

Delacruz Park

Hello and happy weekend Fab Free’rs! I’m so excited about bringing you posts not only about free and fabulously inexpensive items, but places you can go to have fun without spending your linden as well. Delacruz Park is a recent discovery of mine that I believe is one of Second Life’s many lesser-know but amazing locations. It’s a small but fully functioning amusement and adventure park. Most if not all of the rides and attractions are for sale, but you can experience them for free in this beautifully landscaped setting. You can even see the neon blue roller coaster in the background of the above photo! Also, I love that Delacruz Park is all decked out for the fall season.

Delacruz Park is family friendly, however it would also be a fun spot for date night or an afternoon with friends. I already mentioned the roller coaster, this second photo was taken from high up in the working Ferris Wheel. If you look closely you can spot a few of the other attractions such as the Hot Air Balloon ride, the must-see mini Stone Hinge setup. I could continue to list the number of things to see and do at Delacruz park, however half the fun is discovering all this beautiful spot has to offer. Also, I’m sure I’d absentmindedly leave something out!

Les Jolie Fleurs

Hello Fabulouses!  While out looking for antiques, Ripley and I stumbled across a new-to-us shop called FAFA.  As I wandered through the store, drinking in all the vibrant hues and tribal prints, the pupster did what he does best……..he sniffed out a free gift.  All I had to do  was switch to my SL Frees and Offers group tag, tap the vendor, and I took home a sweet new tank top – all for zero linden dollars!

Il y a Des Fleurs

That’s about the extent of the French I still remember from high school, but the heading really seemed to fit this gift.  Featuring delicate blossoms and greenery scattered across a cream colored background, the Fleur Tank is *almost* long enough to double as a short dress.  With the right pair of leggings or tights, you could definitely pull off a dressier look, but I opted to don on a pair of beige pants for a more casual outfit.   Where I live in RL, it’s still plenty warm enough for tank tops (still in the triple digits here), and one of the best things in SL is you can wear whatever you please and still be comfy and cozy, so this top made a welcome addition to my wardrobe.  I bet it will to yours, as well.

Thank goodness it’s fabulous Friday!

A Quiet Place

Happy weekend, fabulous readers! 🙂

I’m enjoying some quiet time by the lake this afternoon, but I wanted to pop in for a few moments to tell you about the adorable group gift that was just set out at S@BBiA.

The Sleeveless Blouse & Wrap Skirt-Short Pants come in one mesh size with an alpha layer. The back of the blouse fastens with a button and has a keyhole opening underneath. The wrap skirt-short is actually a “skort”… it looks like a skirt from the front and shorts from the back.

Both pieces can be worn separately.

On the Dock of the Bay

Happy weekend (what’s left of it), fabulous readers! And happy Father’s Day (U.S.) to you dads out there!

As I was checking out some beautiful places in SL over the weekend, I happened to wander on to the Devin’s Eye sim. It’s a beautifully-decorated rural sim, and I highly recommend a visit. My buddy here is actually much friendlier than he looks, so don’t let him scare you away.

Oh! And I’ve got a comfy, casual look to share with you for YOUR summer sim-hopping! 😀

Comfy Jeans for Summer

Aleutia recently announced a change in their group gift policy: “Each week, Aleutia will take at least one of our older releases and place it out among the group gifts. When the week is up, that release will be retired from both the main store and marketplace forever.”

So… there are 2 takeaways from that statement:

1. There will now be WEEKLY GROUP GIFTS! Woohoo!
2. You’d better grab the gifts quickly each week before they disappear forever!

I’m sporting the first of these weekly gifts, The Zeta Jeans. They come in not one, not two, but FOURTEEN (14) different colors.

The “catch” — if you can call it that — is that they are only designed to fit Maitreya mesh bodies (you can certainly try them with different bodies to see if they’ll fit, though).

Pretty and Witty and Bright

Hi guys! I have a quickie for you today. Just a pretty little dress that will make you feel like a princess and a lovely necklace.

I picked up this fun and flouncy dress at Shoenique. The flower on the front is removable and the white spot on the skirt isn’t really there, it’s just a little bit of light from my windlight setting. It is the April free group gift but it is still available and I don’t imagine that it will go away soon because there is a whole wall of past group gifts as well. I Saw Stars

Hey there Fab Free’rs! Thanks for being here. A musician friend of mine once said “It’s hard being cool when you’re not.” It made me laugh at the time, but in a lot of ways it’s a true statement. I think we all at some point want our peers to think of us as some form of “cool.” As for me, I am genuinely the least cool person ever, but I don’t mind. A Moment of Peace

Hello Fabulous Readers!  I have family arriving from out of town tonight, but I wanted to pop in quickly to share a budget friendly hunt find that I picked up for just one Linden dollar.  Since Stan had such good luck at the Peace by Peace 2 Hunt, I decided to give it a go myself, and came away with the Gloria outfit from Sweet E’s Designs.  With its floral skirt and coordinating short sleeve top, this outfit had me instantly ready for summery weather.  The shirt features a scoop-style neckline adorned with a narrow string tied in a bow.  The mini skirt, with its column of four buttons and four pockets, rides low on your hips and hugs your curves.  Since the outfit contains both classic and mesh avatar versions, I’m sure you will find just the right fit for you.  To pick up this complete outfit for yourself, teleport over to the store and search for the puzzle piece hidden in the store.  The hunt sign out front has a hint giver, which I found pretty handy.  Since the hunt concludes on June 3rd, you still have plenty of time left.
