No Goodbyes

It’s been a little over 7 years since I started blogging for Fab Free. Love Trill took a chance on an eager-to-learn wanna-be fashionista with no blogging experience and limited photography skills. I’m forever grateful she did. Not only did I learn new things, best of all it’s through this blog, Fabulously Free in SL, that I’ve made some of my most cherished personal connections. The kind that I hope against hope will last a lifetime. I’m lookin’ at you, my fellow bloggers, past and present. In a round about way, it’s even through blogging for Fab Free that I found a kind of love that I had not even imagined.

Needless to say, the last 7 years have meant a lot to me, more than heartfelt words, or poignant quotes could ever express. I want to say thank you also to those of you who read the blog regularly, and have taken a moment over the years to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes in to a blog like Fab Free. After more than 15,000 blog posts, I feel it’s time for me to say farewell to blogging for Fabulously Free in SL and take time for new adventures. Thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart.

No Goodbyes

For this, my last post, I do of course have some freebies and fabulous finds to share with you. I picked up the group gifts at the latest round of Cosmopolitan. There are two gifts this time, an upper body tattoo by AuricA, and a set of stunning eyes by Arte. I also of course picked up the Happy Weekend Sale item by Muniick again this week. Sarcasm

Alright Fab Free’rs, I have to say I really am not in to the whole concept of a New Year resolution. I’ve made them in the past, and struggled to keep up with them, and ultimately ended up feeling guilty or disappointed in myself if my resolution didn’t work out. I think we tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to become the best brightest shiny new version of ourselves just because it’s the start of a new trip around the sun. I am all for self betterment, I just think it has to happen in my/your own time.

ZFG

For this post, this group gift hoodie top from ZFG (Zero F*cks Given) just really summed up the concept of a New Year resolution for me. These glasses. Moons, stars, oversized lenses, these glasses from Zombie Suicide called out to me “Pru, you must take us home with you…”. Really, a must-have for me. This gift has a color change hud as well that allows you to change the color of the frames, and the moon/stars so you can match these babies with everything.

Not Your Valentine

Alright, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I am anti-Valentines Day, but it’s not my favorite. While I love the idea, and all the romantic sentiments, I can’t help but dislike how manufactured it can feel. Commercialism, am I right?! That said, the new group gift at POUT! spoke to me. Second Life is the one place I feel good about wearing a fur coat. I happen to think this one by Entice looks amazing on. The textures are fantastic. Camp Quarantine

Hello hello Fab Free! Yes, you are seeing things correctly, I am wearing a top made from masks. Honestly, even though it does make me laugh, I do kind of hope that this will be the way to wear masks one day sooner rather than later. My quarantine fashion moment is courtesy of a new group gift at Worldwide. Also, Petrichor has two new group gifts, one of which is this delicate white mandala-like tattoo. Eat the Darn Cake

Sometimes you just need to let go and eat the cake. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Definitely not afraid of a little indulgence, I happily gave in to my sweet-tooth and picked up this delicious looking cake at Cinoe. Secondly, while this sweater isn’t the same sort of indulgence, it feels like a splurge of the same kind of self gratification. It’s a recent group gift at Sentinus. The Cat in the Hat

Hello Fab Free, and Happy Weekend! I’ve got a quickie for you this Saturday morning that you’re going to love, so let’s get right to it. Jian has out the cutest Santa hats as group gifts. Snowfall

I’ve always thought of the notion of a first snowfall as something magical and wonderous, though admittedly that’s partly due to having experienced so few in my lifetime. That said, there are quite a few free gifts waiting on the Christmas tree inside the Cosmopolitan Sales event, and these delicate snow flurries by Persefona are my favorite. For this look I also picked up the free Cosmo gifts by Limited Addiction, IDTTY, and ARTE. I also happen to be wearing a cute little sweater dress by Rebel Hope that you can find inexpensively on the Marketplace. Keep reading for all the details.

These pretty little snow flurries are an attachment by Persefona. Fab Free Designer Friday 2.0 – You by GeMyles

Hello hello Fab Free’rs! It’s Friday night and many of us are quarantining or staying home and staying safe. I hope you’re all well. Wishing for Winter

It’s the time of year in my world physical and virtual that I start to wish for snow. Perhaps because I almost never get to experience temperatures cold enough for snow where I live, I find that I long for that story-book white snowy winter. I am also so ready to break out the winter wardrobe. Thank goodness Second Life has me covered, here I get my snow, and a pretty stellar closet full of winter clothing. Speaking of clothing, this outfit is the most recent group gift at Vooh.

Vooh

There are actually several group gifts available at Vooh, Group Gift 76 is the most recent. I really like the look of this all-in-one outfit. The jacket, sweater dress, and undershirt are all one piece. I love that it makes me appear as though my hands are tucked warm into my pockets. Also, the outfit includes matching boots, and a beret (not worn). The jacket/sweater dress combo has a color change hud with several solid color options for the main part of the jacket, the dress, the undershirt, as well as the metal parts of the jacket. Additionally the hud will allow you to tint each part, and adjust things like glow and materials. The boots and beret have their own similar customization huds with matching color choices.
