To a Great and Supporting Creator

As I write this post I can feel myself tearing up. .EscalateD., which is one of my favourite stores of all time, is closing its doors on July 31st, 2022. .EscalateD. was the first creator to support me as a blogger and I have had the privilege of showing their unique and beautiful hairstyles over the years. .EscalateD. has to have been one of the most generous hair creators to contribute to the freebie community over the years and the store will be missed dearly by her devoted fans. I hope that on whatever journey Dolphin Ayres embarks on after this that she finds great fulfillment and happiness in her RL and SL. ❤

Solaris

I am wearing Solaris today, which is my favourite hairstyle of all time from .EscalateD. It’s so beautiful. I love the detailing in the braids and the stones. This is a classic work from this wonderful creator. Get Your Feet Wet & Go For a Swim

It’s beach time, FabFree! I love exploring beaches on SL. I came across Kanaloa Beach thanks to Aline’s recommendation, and I had the chance to explore and take some pics with friends the other day. It’s such a pretty sim and perfect for summer! I think they even have some fireworks on the beach events coming up. 

Blue Eyes like the ocean

If you are a Lelutka Evolution head user, you should definitely swing by the Sense Event and get these gorgeous blue eyes by Luka, which are free with the Sense event’s free-to-join group. The eyes come with a Lelutka Evolution applier and in BOM. I’m not sure if the BOM eyes work with other heads, but it’s possible!

A Great Shell Necklace

The second free item I am showing today is a beautiful necklace by a new-to-me store called Carlynda Jewelers. A Lil’Bonus: a FREE Swim Hud

Ok so this isn’t exactly shown in my photo, but I did play around with this awesome free swim HUD while I was hanging out at Kanaloa Beach. This hud is awesome! A Vintage Goth

I have a bit of a “vintage goth” look going on today, so I decided to chill and take a picture by this gorgeous stained glass window inside this spooky, dark-lit room. I just love this type of style so I’m excited to share these finds with you today.

An Accessories & Hair Day

Today is an accessories day. I love adding little trinkets to my AVI, and it’s something I’ve developed a love for over time. Sometimes it takes for forever to make that necklace or earring to fit just right, but it’s so worth it! I hope you all enjoy little trinkets, items, and jewels you can use to accessorize your AVI because that’s what I’m mainly showing today! I will also later announce how to get a whole LOAD of free hair. 

The Perfect Cross

My necklace is a gorgeous cross necklace which is a free group gift at Finer Threads. This necklace is so detailed. It’s a must have! It only comes in one colour, but the shine of the gold on this chain is stunning. 

Little Mandalas

The gorgeous earrings are also a free group gift at Zaara. simply join the free group and the earring are yours in gold and silver. They look like little Mandalas, which I love.  

Did someone say Functional Demo?

Have you ever heard of a functional or wearable demo? It’s basically a gift, disguised as a demo! What it means is there is no demo box attached to the item, so you can wear it all you like. The beautiful hair I have on is a functional demo from Alli&Ali Designs. I grabbed it on the Marketplace. In fact, Alli&Ali Designs has almost every hair up on their marketplace store with a “functional demo”- a free gift of each hair in one colour only. The colours shown in the ads are the same colour your receive with the free gift. This is a very generous offer from Alli&Ali Designs. The full version (paid) include more colours, but to make the demo fully wearable is a treat! Since Alli&Ali Designs has over 900 hairstyles in their marketplace store for both men and women, so you can get a LOT of one-colour hairs for free. I’m still loading up and picking what I want.  😉 The lovely hair I am wearing today is called Viola and it comes in red. Lilith

Hey Fab Free! Today I will be talking about the Call of Lovecraft event and hunt. The event ends on November 20th, so you have some time to check it out! The sim reminds me of the new series on HBO Lovecraft Country– as you can see by the octopus tentacles in the background of my picture I took at the event. How creepy and supernatural!

Call of Lovecraft Hunt

The main attraction of Call of Lovecraft is the hunt going on at the sim where many designers have put out hunt prizes. The hunt object you are looking for and the hunt keys can be found on Kaleidoscope Island’s website.

Generally, each hunt item costs 25 Linden per piece. I am wearing one of the hunt prize by Ari-Pari, which are a series of “Ancient Masks”. I am wearing Prize #1 in red to match my outfit.

More gifts!

There are also a bunch of free gifts at the event, which don’t require a group join. Simply walk around in the circle near the front of the event and grab all the gifts the designers have set out for 0 L. The necklace I am wearing is one of these free gifts, the Lilith necklace by Ari-Pari. This necklace is so elegant. I love the pretty black pendant; this is a gorgeous piece with lots of detail.

 

And Gachas!

As you go around the circle of gifts, you can also play gachas by different designers. My dress and heels come from Ari-Pari’s Lilitch Gacha, which costs 50L per pull to play. I absolutely LOVE the Lilith outfit- I must say it is one of my favourites I have ever found in Second Life. I love Victorian wallpaper prints and elegant clothing, so if you are into that this is truly the perfect gacha for you.

Hello Fab Free’rs! I found some hot freebies waiting at the Sense event and I’m super excited to share them with you. Both the dress and the necklace are free group gifts by Alter at the Sense event. I can’t say for certain if the two were made to go together or it’s just a happy coincidence. Either way, I think they make an awesome pair. Keep reading and I’ll explain exactly how to get both items for free.

The Dress – Not only is this sexy little red dress free, it’s fitted for just about everyone. It comes in quite a few mesh sizes, and includes an alpha layer for classic avatars. The Oracle

Hello Fab Free! I’m so glad you’re here. This look I came up with for Pru reminded me of an Oracle like the ones in stories about ancient Rome. Maybe it’s the fiery eyes, or the detailed pendant. Both items are free gifts at the Summoning Spring Fair. I used several gifts from the Summoning Spring Fair to create this unique look. I hope you enjoy them.

The Hair – As I mentioned there are lots of free gifts to be had at the Summoning Spring Fair. CHARME happens to have 2 gifts. This swing-bob style hair is their free gift, and if you pick up both of the CHARME gifts you’ll get the hairstyle with 4 total color change huds. This free hairstyle also has a unique feature that lets your color/texture the top strands of the hair separately from the rest to give the style a lot of dimension and tons of color combinations.

The Tattoo – This mandala-like forehead tattoo is the Summoning Spring Fair gift from Fallen Gods. It comes in classic system layers along with an Omega applier. That means this freebie is suitable for mesh (Omega compatible) avatars and classic non mesh avatars. Not to mention with all the color choices, you could wear it with anything!

The Eyes – I think these intense eyes by Cubic Cherry might be my favorite of the free gifts at the Summoning Spring Fair. They come in several vibrant colors. This git set includes a pair of mesh eyes, a matching alpha layer, an optional shadow add-on for extra detail, a texture change hud, and an Omega applier hud for Omega compatible eyes.

The Necklace – Finally, this beautiful necklace is by On a Lark, and is also a free gift at the Summoning Spring Fair. I would consider this item to be unisex. Here comes the sun

Oooooh FabFree, it’s been quite the weekend in RL. It poured down rain for 4 solid days, I’ve been cooped up with two stir crazy tiny people, there was a leak in my ceiling (but luckily it was just a vent leaking and not the roof), and to top it all off I have the worst cold ever. I think I might be dying. So if this is my last post, it was nice knowing you. RL me has been just fine at handling everything although SL me has been in a bit of a mood for entirely different reasons…I’ll let the facial expression speak for itself. But things have to look up sometime, right? Here’s hoping that the sun really is coming out!
