A Place I Can Call My Own

I find a smattering of decorating in SL can be quite relaxing.  It’s not like it’s the most easy thing in the world, seeing as it can be a bit fiddly, but I find putting a little cozy nook together can be quite fun.  And wouldn’t you know it, that’s what I’ve done today!

The Setting

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be an avid collector of homes.  When they’re completely free, than I’m pretty much as happy as a clam.  I just picked up the free skybox by Erfe over at The New Ones event.  All I had to do was join the free Binge Events group, and then click on the gift box not far from the landing point.  Setting up was pretty easy, just rez out the box and click “rez” and it will appear for you.  It has a lovely balcony, two smaller rooms and an entrance way – and I just love the coffered ceiling.  Fab!  I know you can’t really see it in my picture above, so I’ve given you a kind of behind the scenes look below so you can see the general size of the place.  The New Ones is running until April 5th!

Off to Wonderland

Petite Mort & Oubliette have redecorated the Witchwood Sim, and with that comes a really awesome hunt plus a sale at both stores.  I do love when they have these lovely little hunts, and this one features 16 decor and clothing items (with an emphasis on the decor) for your collecting pleasure.  There are plenty of 10L and 20L items to keep you happy, and there are even a few little free gifts too all hidden inside eggs across the sim.  Head first to the dedicated hunting area (through the dark tunnel near the landing point) and bask in the lovely decorating that’s been done while you hunt.  Some of the prizes are also located inside and around the stores, so don’t forget to head that way too.  You can grab all the hunting information at the landing point, which I found quite useful.

I won’t list all the decor here in the body of my post (just look below to my credits for the info) but I will mention this lovely dress covered in daisies is just 20L and sized for Maitreya, Legacy & Reborn bodies.  You’ve got until April 10th to find them all!

I’m super ready for all things V-Day.  Not because of romance and all that stuff – but just because the pink and red and hearts and candy put me in a good mood in the depths of winter.  I don’t necessarily need a bouquet of flowers and a declaration of undying love (though that’s nice too) to enjoy the riotous pink of Valentine’s Day.

Feelin’ Fruity

Back to Witchwood

As Allison told you earlier today, Petite Mort & Oubliette are currently hosting one of their fun hunts, where every item is priced at 20L or less.  I couldn’t resist the jacket Allison showed us, though I went in a sorta crazy 80’s direction with the hot pink tube dress (10L) and the heart-shaped glasses (10L).  There are loads of different items on this hunt, so you can mix and match a look pretty easily.  I’m a sucker for that kind of thing!  The Witchwood Valentine’s Day Hunt is running until February 14th!

You Would Still Have My Heart

I’d been pondering if it was too early to do a Valentine’s Day post. After all, Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away. Then, the decision was made for me when I saw a group notice for the Petite Mort and Oubliette Valentines Hunt!

One Last Hunt

It’s really the perfect way to spend a chilly January day, hunting the stunningly beautiful Witchwood sim for Valentine’s goodies. And we’d better enjoy it while we can, because this will be the last hunt on the Witchwood sim as it is now. But don’t fret, Melora Frost (owner/creator of Witchwood and both stores) announced in the group chat that she will be redecorating the sim and relaunching both stores. She says that she plans to put the two stores next to each other and dedicate half of the sim to themed hunts. It’s a little bittersweet because the sim is so lovely as it is and I’ve definitely taken my share of photos there over the years, but also exciting to see what Melora will come up with next!

Hearts and Roses

Back to the current hunt – this time you’re looking for 18 conversation hearts scattered all over the sim. They’re not terribly hard to find, but if you have trouble just look for the Hunt Pack Info & Clues at the landing point. It includes pictures of the prizes and the hearts you’re looking for, as well as some tips and even a list of hints for the location of each one. Each prize costs 10L or 20L. I’m wearing two:

• The denim jacket is 20L and acid washed to perfection
• The cute “love tee” I’m wearing under it is only 10L

Both items are sized for Maitreya, Legacy, and Reborn.

In addition to the hunt, both stores are currently 50% off. It all officially started today and end on February 14th.

Christmas Cozy

Hey hey, Fab Fam! Are ya’ll done with your Christmas shopping in good ol’ real life yet:? I went out today and daaaang the stores are chaos! But I fought my way through and got some gifts. Now I’m retreating to Second Life for some relaxation. And by that I mean… shopping!

I went and hit up the Designer’s Outlet – Discount Sale Event today and foud this super cute Christmassy but not too Christmassy outfit. This is the “Fair Isle sweater” and “Patch Bellbottoms”  from Petite Mort, one of my favorite designs. There are a ton of tops and jeans to choose from and each one is only 50L. Not bad at all! Of course, if you love it the fat pack is also on sale at the event.  I can see myself wearing these jeans a LOT in the coming months.

Ok, I’m giving in just a little.  Perhaps the last vestiges of Autumn are falling away, and we’re truly getting into the colder months.  I’m celebrating this seasonal change by heading over to the perennially lovely Luane’s World, where they’ve made the switch over to Winter, and as always, it’s gorgeous.  Plenty of scope for the imagination, and loads of nooks and crannies to explore.

In The Mood

Happy Thanksgiving, to the American readers out there! I hope that your day is filled with food, family, and football. And to the non-Americans, happy boring old Thursday. I hope that you’re having a great day, too!

I’m not usually one to mix holidays. I wait for Thanksgiving to be over before moving on to Christmas. But today I had to make a slight exception. You see, the Xmas Hunt at Witchwood has started and that changes everything.

Which Wood?

If you don’t know, Witchwood is the home of both Petite Mort and Oubliette, and an absolutely gorgeous sim to boot. The Witchwood Xmas Hunt started today and runs through December 11th. If that’s not reason enough to get into the holiday spirit than I don’t know what is! All of my clothing is from the hunt:

• The tee that I’m wearing – “when you’re dead inside but it’s the holiday season”
• My super cute and cozy cardigan
• And these ripped jeans with festive flannel patches

The prizes are hidden in red and green presents spread across both stores and the outside areas too. The colors of the giftboxes stick out a bit so they’re not too hard to find once things rez in all the way. There are 11 prizes and each costs 10L.  Everything is sized for Maitreya and Legacy.

Spring Ride

Ah, Spring!  The sweet scent of flowers in the air and the warmth of the rays of the sun, so long absent are back to warm my bones.  Time to hop on the bike and head out for a bit of a hunt!

Do you ever just come across something and you can’t believe that it’s made so entirely perfectly? That’s how I feel about this top. Perfection. When you’ve got an inventory like mine, just getting dressed is bound to include some freebies!
