No Goodbyes

It’s been a little over 7 years since I started blogging for Fab Free. Love Trill took a chance on an eager-to-learn wanna-be fashionista with no blogging experience and limited photography skills. I’m forever grateful she did. Not only did I learn new things, best of all it’s through this blog, Fabulously Free in SL, that I’ve made some of my most cherished personal connections. The kind that I hope against hope will last a lifetime. I’m lookin’ at you, my fellow bloggers, past and present. In a round about way, it’s even through blogging for Fab Free that I found a kind of love that I had not even imagined.

Needless to say, the last 7 years have meant a lot to me, more than heartfelt words, or poignant quotes could ever express. I want to say thank you also to those of you who read the blog regularly, and have taken a moment over the years to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes in to a blog like Fab Free. After more than 15,000 blog posts, I feel it’s time for me to say farewell to blogging for Fabulously Free in SL and take time for new adventures. Thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart.

No Goodbyes

For this, my last post, I do of course have some freebies and fabulous finds to share with you. I picked up the group gifts at the latest round of Cosmopolitan. There are two gifts this time, an upper body tattoo by AuricA, and a set of stunning eyes by Arte. I also of course picked up the Happy Weekend Sale item by Muniick again this week. Seriously, I just could not resist!

AuricA

This upper body tattoo by AuricA is free with your Cosmo Sales group tag. The group is free to join, and the gift is waiting on a signboard just inside the Cosmo event entrance. I think these eyes by Arte are really beautiful. They have an ethereal look to them in my opinion. They also happen to be a free group gift at the Cosmo event. Alright, I might have an issue with collecting furniture as of late. I’m not at all mad about it though! This weekend (today is the last day!) Sarcasm

Alright Fab Free’rs, I have to say I really am not in to the whole concept of a New Year resolution. I’ve made them in the past, and struggled to keep up with them, and ultimately ended up feeling guilty or disappointed in myself if my resolution didn’t work out. I think we tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to become the best brightest shiny new version of ourselves just because it’s the start of a new trip around the sun. I am all for self betterment, I just think it has to happen in my/your own time.

ZFG

For this post, this group gift hoodie top from ZFG (Zero F*cks Given) just really summed up the concept of a New Year resolution for me. These glasses. Moons, stars, oversized lenses, these glasses from Zombie Suicide called out to me “Pru, you must take us home with you…”. Really, a must-have for me. Technicolor Rainbow

As much as I love winter, I have to admit this outfit has me daydreaming about warmer weather. Hello Fab Free’rs, I’m glad you’re here. For this post I’m really excited about the new group gift at MicRo, and Demicorn has out a group gift that I don’t know how I missed and can’t wait to share with you. Keep reading for all the whosits and whatsits and where and how.

I really like this pleated skirt by MicRo a lot, mostly because it’s not a skirt but rather a skort. What’s a skort you ask? Skirt + short = skort. Foxy Lady

Welcome back to the blog Fab Free’rs. For this post I’ve got some January group gifts to share with you that have me feelin’ foxy. Maai and MINIMAL both have free group gifts for the month of January that you will not want to miss. Keep reading for the details and more of my banter.

Maai 

Yes, that little fox pun was absolutely intended. I do think there’s sometimes a stigma around being an adult and wearing cutely patterned or styled clothing. I however don’t particularly care for them. I love the little fox faces on this slip of a dress from Maai. The Coven

In much need of some distraction, I have been so ready for the weekend. Thank goodness for Second Life, am I right?! Weekends are often a favorite time in-world. New Year New Kicks

Grotesque

Much like the macabre, though a little less romantic, grotesques have been part of art and architecture for centuries. It’s a theme I’ve always romanticized myself, that concept of finding beauty in that which would otherwise be called ugly. Now, before I get too melancholy in my musings I’ve got some pretties to share with you, one of which is this face tattoo by Nar Mattaru that reads “Grotesque” under my right eye. Alongside my finds at Nar Mattaru, I picked up some group gifts from rotten, and torment via Harajuku. Keep reading and I’ll give you all the what and how of things.

Nar Mattaru

Nar Mattaru has a handful of 10 linden offers in the same spot as their group gifts. These 10 linden finds do not require a group tag to purchase. I picked up the face tattoo that says “Grotesque” under the right eye, and has an almost cute little fly under the left eye. The tattoo comes in BOM layers, and an Omega applier with fresh, normal, and faded options.

Also at Nar Mattaru is this smudgy black eye makeup. This eye shadow look is called the “Effortless Smoky Eye” it too is just 10 linden. The grunge-rock princess part of my personality just couldn’t pass this one up. This eye-makeup comes in a BOM layer, and an Omega applier.

I am kind of in love with this lip gloss from rotten. It’s their current group gift, and the group is free to join. I love when I come across amazing makeup finds. Makeup is my favorite way to customize my look without changing my skin. This free lippie set by rotten includes 6 color choices, each with 4 style/opacity variations. In the package you’ll get BOM layers only. Technically these lip colors were made to be worn on Genus heads, but I think they look fantastic on my Catwa head.

torment

If you head over to the Harajuku event you can pick up these gorgeous earrings for free from torment. They are waiting at the torment booth at the Harajuku event. You will need to be wearing the torment group tag. The torment group is free to join. Then while wearing your torment group tag, click the “gift” sign at torment’s spot at Harajuku. These lovelies come in a black/gold version (shown) and a silver/gold version.
