Hello again Fab Free’rs! I am not sure why but I am always surprised at how quickly Christmas seems to come about right after Thanksgiving. Suddenly it seems like there’s no time at all, and everyone is busy. I hope each of you is able to take the time to enjoy the people you love, be they friends, family or both. Hello there, Fab Free! Today, as I took Ripley for his morning stroll, we passed by a house with a Christmas tree all decked out in the front window. Ripley paused and gazed at it with a wistful, hopeful expression in his eyes. “OK pal, we’ll go pick out our tree tonight,” I told him as I scratched behind his ears. All the way home, he pranced, his tail wagging joyously. I guess even pups get excited during the holiday season!
Crimson Concoction
The other day, as Rip and I sought out our next Fabulous Find to share, we decided to pop on over to Hottest Fashion. In our very first post on Fab Free [HERE], we highlighted a cute, summery knotted top from the store, and I figured we should take a peek and see if the gift had been updated to a cooler-weather outfit. You can’t ferret out a tree in the forest wearing heels (now THAT would make an interesting post, don’t you think?), so I slipped into some winter-friendly footwear. I discovered my high, zipped leather boots while searching the Marketplace for good deals. Currently, Vlad Blackburn is offering these Color Zip Over Knee Boots for only 49L in his Marketplace store. My heart just melted when I saw them perched on Ole Bess. I posed next to the pair, and snapped a quick picture before journeying home with Ripley to set up our tree. I have to tell you, as lovely as I think my photo turned out, it doesn’t do the Crys Secret Garden shop justice. My poor little laptop just cannot keep up these days! That said, the grounds surrounding the store, and even the shop its self are delightful to explore. Crys Secret Garden is the type of shop you’ll want to take a moment to wander through. There are lots of fun little spots to enjoy, even a little fishing pond! Not to mention just about everything can be purchased so you can create equally whimsical environments of your own. The Crys Secret Garden shop has much of what the name suggests it might. There are lots of landscaping, garden, and decor type items. Additionally you’ll find several opportunities to receive FREE gifts and purchase inexpensive items. At the entrance there are trails leading you to some of the specials and event items so you don’t accidentally miss them. Once you’re inside there’s a cutely decorated information corner to the right where you’ll find the subscriber, group joiner, and information boards. I noticed the shop is participating in a holiday hunt! Byrne has out this great new FREE sweater as their group gift (the group is FREE to join) and you can pick it up before heading off for more winter travels. And style was what was what seemed appropriate as I traveled to “The Village” for my afternoon jaunt.
It was snowing.
It was snowing so I ducked into a little barber shop. It got me remembering that first haircut we all invariably get as children — you know the one… where you cry and your mother takes a picture of the entire traumatic event? It seems, though, that haircuts or at least hairstyles seem to be milestones for changes in our lives.

The importance of a haircut.
I ran across this quote on google while exploring this little barbershop and it made me reflect a moment, because I have to think that the quote (if Coco Chanel did indeed say it) doesn’t only apply to women. A lot of men get life changing haircuts as well.
Many important milestones come with trips to the salon or at least personal stylings — such as dances or weddings… and I’m sure the fellas (not just the ladies) get shimmied up with a fresh haircut too. In some cultures the cutting of hair is deeply spiritual, so I took this picture of myself at this quaint little Barber Shop in my brand new Freebies (and I’ve got one more to tell you about) and thought about the changes that are in store for Astrid and I as the new year approaches. We will certainly have some stories to tell you.
The Beaded Bracelet
