Going dotty

Going dotty

Help! The weather’s been so dotty lately.

I don’t know what’s going on but the weather’s been acting kinda strange recently. Not so strange that it’s raining literal cats and dogs (thankfully) but it seems as if it can’t make up its mind most of the time. Some days the sky is heavy with dark clouds while on others it’s surprisingly sunny for this time of year and on other days things can flip between the two at the drop of a dime. I just can’t figure it out but anyway, at least I’ve found an outfit versatile enough to keep up with all of this odd weather.

As they say, if you can’t beat them…

Join them! I’ve gone dotty as well with the Lily outfit from MOoH! (it’s so much fun typing out this store’s name). You can always count on classic prints to get you through the day and none are more classic, or classy when it comes down to it than black and white polka dots. Personally, I found that it paired off rather well with the prim cut of this collared dress. I like fantasy clothes as much as the next Second Life(r) but it’s always great to find something that I’d actually wear outside of this virtual world.

As you can see from the picture above there are two ways of wearing the Lily outfit. The dress itself is a sleeveless number (perfect for when the sun decides to show itself) and flatters your figure by being cinched at the waist by a white belt. The dress comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) and one fitmesh size so you can most certainly test it out on your mesh body should you own one. If it gets chillier (or if you just feel like rocking the cute librarian look) throw on the comfy, duel toned cardigan. I simply love the little bow that holds the two sides together, as it just adds to the girlish look of the whole outfit. The cardigan comes in five standard mesh sizes as well (XXS-L) and one fitmesh size. Both outfits have their own spiffy alpha layer and not only do they help with the fit, they also ensure that you can wear the cardigan with a separate outfit as well.

The Lily outfit is on sale at the MOoH! main store until the 26th of the month and is priced at 85L. That’s a little over the FabFree price cap but if you join the MOoH! group as I’ve already done (-crosses another thing off the bucket list-) you can take advantage of the free 150L gift card that’s available to members to get this dress for free. MOoH! has a one-time join fee of 100L but it’s a great investment in the long run as the gift cards are given out monthly. If you haven’t picked it up already, the new Fabulously Free in SL group gift at MOoH! has been changed out recently.

Heeled and tasseled

With Commander being a bit grumpy recently I’ve had to stay home to make sure he doesn’t get up to any mischief. Of course, that also means more time to poke about the SL Marketplace. I came across these pretty pair of strappy heels from Ferina’s Creations and immediately thought about wearing them with the Lily outfit. There’s nothing like wearing a bit of red with a monochrome outfit to make things pop. I simply adore the detail of the tassel on these heels though the best part about them is that you’ll only have to spend 1L to add them to your collection. Note however that these heels are made for Slink high feet only.

A little bit of bounce

It seems that I’ve been more inclined towards shorter hairstyles recently doesn’t it? It’s nice to switch things up for a change and it helps that there have been not a few great offers for shorter hairstyles. One such is the free gift that Analog Dog has out for the January round of Gacha Guardians. I’ve come to associate wild, fun curls with this brand and the Charlotte hair certainly did not disappoint. This bouncy hairstyle has a retro feel about it, acting as the perfect topper for the Lily outfit. In the gift package, you’ll receive a bald base, an alpha layer as well as an easy to use hud that lets you choose from twelve fantasy colors as well as control the ombre fades and tints of the hair. There are loads of other gifts out at the Gacha Guardians event and you’ll need to be part of the Gimme Gacha group to be able to scoop them up. Don’t worry though the group is free to join so all you need is a group slot and you’re good to go!

Another group gift

Speaking of free group gifts, there’s a new one currently out at Hello Dave. The pictures don’t do them any justice but the Spot Me manicure in nude that I’m wearing pairs up very nicely with the entire outfit as well. Personally, I find that Hello Dave puts out manicures with very interesting designs and it certainly doesn’t hurt that they change out their free group gifts on the regular too. The group is free to join as well so go ahead and treat yourself to a mani and pedi! Hello Dave nails work with Slink mesh hands and some mesh hands that are compatible with the Omega system. While you’re there at the store don’t forget to pick up the new Fabulously Free in SL group gift as well. Two of the sets have been blogged by Kat {HERE} and myself {HERE} and you can get a closer look {HERE}.

And that’s a wrap for today! The weather’s looking pretty dodgy again so I’m retreating back indoors. Oh, but before I leave, here’s a closer look at the Hello Dave group gift I was talking about.

The Panty Peek

Snapshot_001

Hey there Fabulous Ladies! I have a bit of a sensitive subject I’d like to talk about today. I hope you can put aside my cheek(s) and just take it for what it’s worth!

That Day…

Do you remember “that day”?  The day when mesh was released, the alpha layers were introduced and women in Second Life became hollow?   Men (and some women too!) across the lands and sims fled their homelands leaving their excavated partners in search of  the rare panty peek.  Families were broken, hearts were broken and we…  as women leapt forward taking the big step into the future, being promised a time where garage door skirt prims were no longer an issue.  No more hair through shoulders, or big bulky sweater prims.  We remained strong, and patient while Linden Labs and creators worked together in pursuit of a dream.  A dream for us!  A way to mend our voided bodies put our lady parts back where they belong in hopes that maybe…  just maybe it would bring our men back home…

The Time Has Come!

Ladies…  Rejoice!  The day has finally come!  With the great strides that mesh has taken, becoming fluid and rigged to our bodies, we are now able to avoid those unwanted alphas with some of the newer fashion designs.  Sometimes it takes a little shape adjusting, but it is indeed possible to put “the peek” back into your SLife.  It’s now time to call out to your lover, put on your big girl panties and claim what is yours!

Maai Supports The Peek

Maai is in support of this cause and wants you to have these very cheeky, made for Maitreya mesh Body panties to wear under your dresses and skirts (or on their own if you like 😉 )!  For 1L on marketplace, you’ll receive the sheer keyhole cheeky butt panties as shown on my avatar in both black and white.  My “darling” fingernail polish is also courtesy of a 1L marketplace offer by Maai, so be sure to check out all of her offerings!

Avoiding Those Dust Bunnies

Gray Day

Brrrr……. hello there Fabulouses!  With frigid winter weather blustering at our door, and the snow piling high outside, Ripley and I decided to hibernate with some of our favorite books.  Nestled under a cozy throw in my hanging chair, I caught up on my reading, while my canine pal hunted dust bunnies lurking in the corners of our attic.  I lazed the day away in style thanks to my new, knitted dress from Xtravagance.

Dress Impeccably and They Remember the Woman

My free, cozy, long-sleeved knitted “Sarah” dress from Xtravagance provided just the right amount of warmth for a mid-winter’s get away, while at the same time hugging my every curve.  The texture of the vertical ribbing is criss-crossed by delicate purply-pink and white horizontal stripes, which provides visual interest.  This dress reminds me of a soft knit sweater I have in real life that is so comfortable to wear.  Sarah comes in Fitmesh for classic avatars as well as appliers for mesh bodies.  To add this knitted frock to your inventory, join the Power Woman group for 50L, then head on over to Xtravagance and click the gift board.

What’s Included:

  • Fitmesh for classic avatars in XS, S, M, L, XL
  • Alpha Layer for classic avatars
  • Fitmesh for Belleza, Hourglass, Maitreya, Slink, and TMP mesh bodies

Shakes of Snow
New Group Goodies

Have you noticed all the new group gifts Love and Pru have been featuring lately?  Apparently the pupster did!  While I was lost in literature, Ripley temporarily abandoned his hunt, and set out to retrieve just the right finishing touch for my outfit.  He must have read Pru’s Designer Friday post {HERE} featuring the Hello Dave store, and checked out the FabFree Group Gifts list {HERE} because he startled me out of my fantasy world by dropping the free nail polish applier HUD called Shades of Snow into my lap.  It contained 5 wintry hues just perfect for adding a finishing touch to my outfit.  I chose to slick on the darkest pink color, since it echoed the delicate blush of my sweater’s stripes.  In addition to Shades of Snow, the free gift for the Fabulously Free Group from Hello Dave also includes the frosty-themed Fairy French and the Cuticle Glitz sets.  I just love the shiny texture of the polishes in this gift collection!  The best part is that all fifteen hues are completely free for Fab Free Group members.  Simply activate your Fab Free group tag, teleport over to Hello Dave, click the gift board, and a new manicure will be delivered right to your inventory in practically no time at all.

And Now for Those Dust Bunnies!

All too soon, the pale afternoon sunlight faded away, and the peaceful solitude of our attic hideaway was shattered by explosive canine sneezes.  Ripley, apparently victorious in his dust bunny quest, reminded me of the chores we had ditched for our afternoon literary escape.  Ah well, it was a welcome treat, if only for a little while… I hope you are able to find a mid-winter respite of your own.  Until my next post, happy shopping, my friends!

Time For Battle

Snapshot_001
Hey there Fabulouses!

She Shoots!  She …  Misses Completely

I had some free time this week and thought I wold head over to the Outbreak Sim for some zombie shooting fun.  My shooting aim of course is horrible…  The zombies there don’t even really fear my gun…  If I am aiming at them, they are pretty safe.  It’s the ambulance windshield right next to him that needs to worry…  or the tree WAY over to the left.  It’s a good thing Carson just follows around behind me shooting them all dead.  Sometimes he even lets me think that I hit one or two…  but we both know the truth.

Looking Good For Battle

I may not survive very long on my own in a zombie apocolypse, but at least I’ll look great thanks to the new 7 Seas Fishing Prize at Sn@tch!!  The new 22 piece prize that was put out this week is called Fish For This:  Time For Battle and comes with all kinds of great pieces to mix and match for a hot battle outfit including system layers, omega appliers, a mesh jacket, footwear, accessories and makeup!

ALLLL  The Pieces…

In my photo, you will see that  am wearing three of the pieces to the outfit.  Below I have added their vendor ad so that you can see all of them!  As previously mentioned on the blog, the 7 Seas Fishing Rod is 100L to purchase, but you can use it over and over again for future prizes which switch out usually every couple of weeks.

Fab Free Designer Friday on a Sunday – Brandy’s Boutique

Brandy's Boutique Landing GazeboHello Fab Free’rs, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I have to say mine was quite good except that the weekly Designer Friday post is so late this week. I’d like to blame yesterday’s Midnight Madness with Love, Carson, Kathryn, and Serena… but that really doesn’t fit since the margaritas didn’t happen until late Friday night! The important thing is that this week’s shop Brandy’s Boutique would make a fun shopping excursion on any day. The above photo shows the pretty gazebo that is at the landing point for Brandy’s Boutique. In the gazebo you’ll see signs and information about events and groups Brandy’s Boutique and other shops in the location are associated with. Just follow the cobblestone path out of the gazebo toward Brandy’s Boutique. You’ll know witch path to take by the signs on ground.
Brandy's Boutique ExteriorIt’s definitely winter at Brandy’s Boutique. The snow is falling heavily as you make your way the short distance from the gazebo to the Brandy’s Boutique shop entrance. Directly in front of you will be the main shop, and you’ll also see a men’s outlet to one side, and mesh outlet on the other side. Each spot has a FREE group gift waiting in the center of the room. The Brandy’s Boutique group is FREE to join. For the most part Brandy’s Boutique offers unique stylish women’s clothing with mesh and appliers. You’ll find everything from casual wear to costumes.
Brandy's Boutique GiftsOnce inside the main shop, you’ll find a counter with the Brandy’s Boutique group gift, and a group only discounted item. Also Brandy’s Boutique group members get a 5% discount on their purchases when they shop while wearing their group tag! Directly across from the desk high up on the wall, you’ll also find a few other group gifts, and event items. Included is the fantastic Fabulously Free in SL group exclusive gift (you’ll need to switch to your Fab Free group tag for this one) which Edi blogged previously here. You won’t want to miss out on these fun freebies, and don’t forget you can drag the guys in your Second Life along as well for the men’s gift at the men’s outlet. Thanks for reading and happy shopping!

I Need Vitamin Sea!

Where Ever You Are

Hello there, Fab Free!  Once again, Astrid inspired me, this time by mentioning warm weather (another great idea, Astrid!).  I, too, have been feeling the need to escape gray days, sweaters, and chilly temperatures.  The Salt Water sim provided the perfect tranquil hideaway for Ripley and I.  We enjoyed a lovely afternoon strolling on the beach, walking off those extra midnight margarita calories from Friday night (thank you, Love!).  With nothing but gently crashing waves, the cries of far off seabirds, and tangy breezes, it was a welcome relief from the daily grind.

No Jacket Required

Grateful for the ideal climate and mild temperature, I happily slipped into Abril, a sleek, embroidered free lucky board prize from The Beautiful Ones.  In my last post {HERE}, I showcased a gorgeous TBO gown, and mentioned all the goodies that are included with the 25L join fee for the group.  The chance to win Abril in several different shades is one of those extra bonuses.  The sienna version I am wearing today features an intricate embroidery pattern layered above a background that fades from a deep, reddish brown to a pale, creamy hue.  Sleeveless and figure hugging, this frock is fit for a sophisticated night out, or a casual afternoon with friends, depending on how you accessorize your look.  The prize package contains mesh in standard sizes (XXS, XS, S, M, L) and the coordinating alpha layer.  By adjusting the alpha of my Maitreya Lara mesh body, I was able to wear the classic style just fine.  To add Abril to your inventory, simply head over to The Beautiful Ones, activate your group tag, and make the short trip upstairs where you will find the group-only lucky chair.  While you are there, give the midnight madness boards a tap, and you might be adding more loveliness to your wardrobe, as well!

The Lucky One

Shine On

After donning my new sheath-style dress, I turned around to see Ripley perched on my chair with the Mandala Marketplace shop brought up on my screen.  Upon noticing my raised eyebrow, he gave me a sheepish grin, nudged the monitor, then jumped down so I could check out his latest find.  The pupster struck gold (literally), at 70% off no less, with these Luck earrings in gold and brown.  In a large, hoop style with a beautiful metal texture, and dangles, they matched the tone of my frock perfectly….all for only 57L!  With my free dress and sale priced earrings, I splurged, and scooped up the coordinating Luck necklace for 70 percent off as well.  The necklace has a resize option, which is handy because it comes in a unisex version, and was a bit large for my figure at first, but after a little tweaking, it worked well.  I tossed my canine pal a few Ripley-snacks as I added my new baubles to my outfit, grabbed his leash and his favorite ball, then we journeyed over to the beach for a welcome, stress-free break.  I hope you have a relaxing Sunday yourselves, dear readers.  Until my next post, happy shopping!

New Years Zen

ZenWell Hello There Fab Free’rs! I hope you are all well, I’m glad you’re here. I want to share with you one of my hopes for this shiny new year. While there are lots of things I am going to work toward in my 2017, at the top of the list is a little personal zen. I believe that intuition and self reflection are important. I intend to be more accepting of myself, rather than remain often at war. I want to be genuinely happier, and bring happiness to others. That’s not to say that I am unhappy, I consider myself to be very fortunate in many ways. However, I think there’s always room for improvement! If you don’t already have all the happiness you could possibly want in your own lives, I wish that happiness finds you also. Truthfully I think everyone can benefit from a little personal zen. Okay I’ve got all the sentiment out of my system, now for the freebies!

Aurica Store – Bileya Tattoo

Starting with this gorgeous pink henna style mandala type tattoo. I’m not often into pink, though I find myself appreciating it more lately, I still love this tattoo from Aurica. It’s a FREE gift listed on the Marketplace. Included in this gift from Aurica is an applier only. The applier hud will work for Omega compatible bodies, Maitreya Lara, Slink bodies, and TMP bodies. I think the mandala type design is perfect for the new year. You may or may not know this, but the mandala is said to represent a “…dreamers search for completeness and self-unity.”

Cureless – Moonlight Jewels

Cureless recently sent out a FREE group gift. This bindi type crescent moon is beautiful. The textures have an almost iridescent quality. This gift from Cureless includes a color change hud with a ton of color options. I probably should have counted them, but trust me, there are a lot! The Cureless group is FREE to join. To get the gift, just join the group and check the past notices. Hurry though, notices do not stay available forever. I think I’ll be wearing this little jewel often.

Here are the details, Enjoy!
