Here are a bunch of shiny new hunts for all you Fabulous People to partake of. All of these started on Saturday, August 1st, so they all have that great new hunt smell. Just click the links for more information on each one. Enjoy!
A whole bunch of July hunts end TODAY! If you’ve been procrastinating, it’s time to get up and get going. There are literally hundreds of free (or very nearly free) hunt prizes to be picked up, but they’re all going to go POOF at midnight. Tell your friends!
Good news is ahead in the form of all the August hunts that will be starting tomorrow. Don’t worry… I’ll post about those and fill you in when they’ve launched, so stay tuned.
Hello Fab Folks! For those of you that are loving the idea of the new mesh heads and also for those of you that are curious about it, but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg testing out if you like it – Genesis Lab has put out a new group gift head called Sunny 2.0. This head includes the eyes, ears and even a fairly extensive makeup hud that allows you to choose your eyebrow colours as well as offers a variety of eye, cheek and lip options. The Genesis Lab group is 250L to join, but there are currently three mesh head group gifts to obtain. Try them all out!
The Summer Heat outfit that includes the floral blouse, cuffed denim jeans, and sandals is also a group gift, and you can find it at Ghee! This group is also 250L to join, but again… loads of gifts to pick up!

We’re starting to wind down to the end of July, and there are a whole bunch of hunts ending on the 31st that you probably want to get in on. There is no shortage of themes… sun, cats, explosions, tea, vikings, and yes… even Christmas. That’s right… Christmas. Just have a look at the hunts in this report if you don’t believe me.
Soooo… you should be able to find a hunt that’s just right for you. Just peruse the list and click on the hunt names that sound interesting. You’ll be well on your way to stuffing your inventory full of free (or nearly free) stuff.
I love how a small thing, like a new set of eyes, or some makeup, can make your avatar seem like a completely different person. My little Moira was badly in need of an update, and I was lucky enough to be directed to Dead Apples by a friend. They have 2 group gifts out right now, these beautiful moody eyes (In three colors, shown here in lilac), and the lovely eyeshadow tint, that really makes the eyes pop (in 8 colors, including a tintable version!). While I was there, I also picked up new lips for only $50L. It really pulled the whole look together! Hidden in one corner of Dead Apples is a stack of boxes full of great 10L makeups and items as well, so don’t miss that!
If you are a fan of amazing, long silky hair styles, make sure to pick this one up from Moon. at the Hair Fair. It has an amazing hud with tones of tones, streaks, and even sparkle options. The circlet is also a freebie from Hair Fair, set out by Blueberry. I can see it quickly becoming a wardrobe staple.
Have a wonderful week!

I first fell in love with everything “Gothic” when I was eight years old. My babysitter was a teenage girl of about fifteen and my parents had gone out for “kid free” time, and she was doing her homework and reading Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” to me. After that I was hooked.
And then she let me read over her shoulder, and I read, “For Annie” for the very first time as well. Perhaps “For Annie” is not about Vampires at all… but I thought it was! And even at the tender age of eight, I wanted to be a vampire!
“Thank Heaven! the crisis —
The danger is past,
And the lingering illness
Is over at last —
And the fever called “Living”
Is conquered at last.”
[from “For Annie” by Edgar Allen Poe]
I think that is why the ensemble that I put together this week really appeals to me! [MC] Mystic Canvass is — first, and foremost — a fabulous one-stop-shop if you are looking for quality Roleplay skins that won’t break your pocketbook. Many of them are priced at only 99L$ for a full pack, and that includes a bonus shape as well as Lolas and/or other great appliers. The store also has a terrific variety of affordable cosmetics and mesh accessories that are out-of-this-world unique. And with this gorgeous Skin as their current FREE Group Gift (Group is 0L to Join!) coming in 4 skin tones with Lolas, Phat Azz, and Slink Appliers? How can a classic Gothic Vampire girl like me go wrong?!
Of course, I did not want to be a glittery vampire! No! No Twilight sparklers here! Growing up, I wanted to know Dracula and Dark Shadows and vampires like Louis de Pointe du Lac. I wanted pale skin, red lips, crimson eyes, blood that ran cold, and a heart that was colder! Because somehow… I thought it was like being a thorned rose — the ultimate thing of danger… power… and beauty. And yes… even as a tender young girl of only eight years old, I knew it.
“My tantalized spirit
Here blandly reposes,
Forgetting, or never
Regretting its roses —
Its old agitations
Of myrtles and roses:”
[from “For Annie” by Edgar Allen Poe]
So I pulled up Market place for a little help in completing my classic Vampire look — one I was sure would make Bram Stoker himself proud!
I didn’t manage to find a proper Edgar Allen Poe raven that suited me, but this amazing fitmesh dress by +Nocturna+ features a detailed owl print that is a stand-out and the dress pack includes both fitmesh as well as standard mesh sizes and can be found on the Marketplace for only 10L. A little more searching and I was able to complete my Gothic beauty with a set of Mage Red eyes by Imperium which were also found on the Marketplace (a steal of a deal for eyes this sharply detailed at only 9L$!) and last but not least I topped it off with an intricately wrought necklace in black by ~Edenia — another great FREE find on the Marketplace!
Astrid (Portia Swords) got this great Gothic look wearing…
Skin – [MC] [Mystic Canvass] Snow A-Cup GG Xen Group with Dramatic Eyebrows (free group gift / 0L / free to join)
Eyes – Imperium Mage Red Eyes (9L on the Marketplace)
Hair – +Spellbound+ Jezebel
Hands and Feet – Slink
Outfit – +Nocturna+ mesh (fitmesh) Dress Gift (10L on the Marketplace)
Jewelry – ~Edenia FREE Pentacle Necklace (0L on the Marketplace)

We are enjoying a beautiful summer now, my favorite season of the year. In real life, I am a warm-weather creature and even in Second Life I tend to avoid cold areas – lest I lose a few pixels to virtual frostbite. However, one pleasant surprise for me lately was seeing some excellent fall wardrobe items pop up this early in the year. I have decided to take a few minutes of valuable beach time and devote them to sharing some cooler weather clothing that has recently been offered to us, the male bargain hunters of Second Life.
The FREE FaMeshed group gift this month comes from Kauna and includes the diamond orange sweater, the steel blue XIV shirt and tweed overcheck trousers (not shown here). All three items are of excellent quality and look very much like real life clothing. The sweater is beautifully shaded and textured. I bet by the time fall arrives, it will be my favorite pullover. The realistic steel blue XIV shirt looks great without the sweater as well. The tweed overcheck trousers have a beautiful dark texture on them and are definitely a keeper, but for the pic I opted for sharp black tuxedo trousers that I bought from Kauna recently. The main reason I couldn’t wait to show you this though is located in the “additional items” box inside the group gift. Kauna, in addition to a generous array of options and sizes included in this gift, added a bonus box with some extra variations as well. This means you can wear both the sweater and that beautiful blue shirt under that amazing men’s Kuana leather jacket that they gave away last month at FaMeshed! The Jacket, which I blogged here previously looks fantastic! I have been on the lookout for some great things to wear under it, and this is a perfect chance to get a sweater and a shirt that look absolutely perfect with it! In case you missed it when Tiana posted it previously here, you finally have a second chance to pick it up. Hurry though, the month is nearly over, and whether you were lucky enough to get the jacket last month or not, this is a great chance to get very high quality clothing for FREE!
IKON is offering another FREE group gift for a very limited time. If you click the above picture, and once you are in my flickr, click the picture once more, you will get a closer look at the IKON Odyssey Eyes – Clarity. They are a light gray-ish blue with distinctively shaped pupils and plenty of reflections. They are Mesh, but could be used as system eyes if you prefer. They even included a hud to make fitting and selecting options easier. I don’t expect them to be out long, so run to IKON to pick up these FREE eyes while they are still available.
The Menstuff Hunt has been great this time around. All month I have been posting fabulous clothing and items that were part of it. Now, with the hunt ending at the end of the month, this is my last chance to share some items with you that I thought worthy of special attention. Fe Style is offering this light denim jacket that is going to be perfect as the season turns to fall or for a cool summer’s night. The Tartan Denim Jacket is a mesh one-piece including the white T-Shirt, comes in 5 sizes for worry free fit, and looks lightweight and comfortable to wear. I love the range of colors in the jacket! It manages to be multihued, yet is very easy on the eyes with its mix of blues and gray. For the cost of only 1L this is definitely a good pickup, and yet another reason for people to hunt the Menstuff Hunt (even if they haven’t started yet).
The riot of color in the lower two pictures comes courtesy of Come Soon Poses. Their FREE gift for the Menstuff Hunt, *CS* Paparazzo is a beautiful fall-themed photo prop that I am thrilled to put to use already. It comes with a bench and a pose, but you can always move them out of the way and substitute whichever items you intend to use. The colors are vibrant, and when fall comes around this will be an excellent addition to your photo prop collection, or even to your own back yard.
The Menstuff Hunt gift from Lovecats is the No Club Jacket, the perfect article of clothing to wrap up my coverage of the Menstuff Hunt for now. It is a one-piece mesh item, but it appears to have 4 layers of clothing (a T-Shirt, shirt, hoodie and jacket) integrated into it. It comes in five sizes for a good fit. Although it is very snug around my waist and required some emergency slider dieting, the great look of the garment more than made up for that tiny inconvenience. “Lone wolf – no club” is emblazoned on the back with a white wolf logo giving it a biker style look. Each part of the mesh looks very realistic and, since it is one piece, it is very easy to wear once you perfect its fit for your avi. Biker style, unbelievably inexpensive, and simple to wear, Fe Style did a superb job on this FREE gift. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Next up, I will be doing the Biker Hunt, which started just two days ago. I want to point out that Tellaq, an excellent store for male skins, has a Midnight Mania board at their main store. The group is required, but it is free. Although the target number seems high, when new skins and avy packages get put up on the board the target is met for several days. I should know, because that Midnight Mania is a regular stop for me on Second Life, and I get nearly every prize package they offer. Tellaq is especially good at darker skins which feature extremely highly defined muscle textures. It just so happens that the skin currently on the midnight mania board is called “Saint” and is perfect for my new biker look, as you can see here. If you are looking for a skin upgrade, haunt the MM board and you will probably come up with something that pleases you. It’s worth the effort.
Well, with my sneak peek into fall now complete, I think I am going to strip off these clothes and hit a nice, quiet beach for a little “me” time. Please, enjoy the rest of the summer with us at Fab Free and don’t worry, we will keep an eye out for amazing deals whatever the season. Until next time, get some sun and I will see you on the grid!—–WHC Riler

Happy Wednesday everyone! This June has been fantastic for male freebie and cheapie-hunters! This week, I bring you more items from the Menstuff Hunt, a one hundred store hunt that runs until the end of June. Hunt prizes are at most 1L, but the majority of them are offered for FREE! There is no reason not to roll your sleeves up and get hunting, the prizes are too good to pass up!
Gabriel, a store with a reputation for generous FREE group gifts, created this beautiful floral print shirt for the Menstuff Hunt. The Mesh Gradation Flower shirt comes in two colors: blue and black. The floral pattern appears in the bottom quarter of the shirt and sleeves for a subtle, summery look without making the shirt look feminine. The lighter color in the upper part of the shirt draws the eye to the chest area where the shirt is unbuttoned and open. This shirt will give you a cool, stylish, laid back look in whichever color you choose to wear. Gabriel’s FREE Menstuff Hunt gift is a great choice to wear around the grid this summer.
To complement the shirt, I chose the Men’s Mesh Kanto Chino Jeans from Hawker’s House. Sporting extremely well-done shading and texturing, these gray jeans look realistic and provide a very manly look, if you know what I mean. There is no reason we should go around looking like Ken dolls, so it’s always nice to see a little shading to give us guys a little added dimension. Hawker’s House’s hunt prize for the Menstuff Hunt is one of the most generous gifts in the entire hunt. For 1L, you get these swell mesh jeans, the blue denim boots I am wearing and a red nyc T-Shirt (not pictured). The Men’s Mesh Doc Martin Style Boots in Denim are very nicely textured and likely to stand out more than simple black or brown leather Doc Martin style boots. There is something you should be aware of when you get this excellent hunt gift. I have noticed from personal experience that automatic unpacking scripts occasionally don’t transfer the alpha to inventory along with the other items (if the alpha is no copy). In order to unpack this gift, I strongly recommend rezzing the box on the ground and manually unpacking it instead of clicking the box as instructed. This way, you will have everything you need to enjoy these fantastic boots. Quality, inexpensive footwear for men is not an easy find on Second Life, and for only 1L these boots from Hawker’s House are of high enough quality to deserve a very close look! Plus, you get the Kanto Chino Jeans as well!
My necklace is part of the Menstuff Hunt prize from Timeless Designs. The Rebel Black Agate Rope Necklace and Bracelet are both included in the Menstuff Hunt gift. I really liked the simple, masculine look of these pieces. If you look closely, you can see the braiding of the rope and the designs on the gray beads. Great care and time was obviously invested in creating these products. This hunt gift will only set you back 1L, and Timeless Designs made sure it was money well spent. I know I will enjoy it and hope that some of you will as well.
When I first saw this T-Shirt, I knew I had to blog it. The Fetthunterblack T-Shirt from Fliped Out Designs is a great item for the Sci-fi geek nestled inside all of us. Inspired by the universe’s favorite bounty hunter, the T-Shirt is designed with a large playing card like image with the word “Hunter” in the middle of it. At least I hope it is playing card like. If it was a tarot card I would be packing my bags right now instead of writing this. No reason to take any chances concerning my own fate. This unique graphic tee is the FREE Menstuff Hunt Gift from Fliped Out Designs and is available like the rest of the hunt prizes until the end of June.
These black boots were a super find over at The Grey Goose. The Black A** Kickers turned out to be just what I needed to complete this outfit. They have a detailed leather texture and silver metal fasteners, one zipper and three skull buckles. Originally, I had mixed feelings about highlighting them because they are not resizable at least by any method I am aware of. On the shapes I regularly use, the fit was imperfect. Of course, in these days of mesh, it is not unusual to have to adjust your shape to wear something. So, that was not enough reason to discard a perfectly nice pair of FREE black leather boots, especially considering you can pick them up and make your own decisions. Personally, I kept them! ;-)
Some readers might have noticed I am wearing a different skin than usual. STALKERS! The Menstuff Hunt skin from Seven Deadly Skins is very nice, easily passing my very picky standards, and absolutely no surprise to me. Although it is good enough for any male avy to wear, it is an incredible pick up for any new residents or alts out there. There is no reason to look new when you can find a skin this nice for FREE! Thank you for such a nice hunt gift.
Lastly, I want to point out one item that is NOT part of the Menstuff Hunt. Rather, it is an entirely FREE gift for a limited time from Poetic Colors. The Summer Sky Eyes – Beach Nighteyes are a beautiful blue with some pink and lavender mixed in. Click on my pictures above to get into my flickr, then click once more to magnify the image for an up-close look at these eyes. They are only available for a limited time, so if you like them, run over and pick these up as soon as you can.
That’s it for this week. Although I have highlighted over twenty items from the Menstuff Hunt this month, there are one hundred stores participating. So, try as I might, I have only scratched the surface of this wonderful hunt. I want to take a moment to remind everyone that the For Him Hunt is still going on, but ends on the nineteenth of this month. So, if you want to pick up a really sexy workout outfit blogged here, this is your last chance. Until next time my friends, take care and see you on the grid. —–WHC Riler

Over at the Valyria sim, there is a really fun hunt going on, offering gifts for both men and women. Now through June 3oth, you can pick up a hunt HUD (and instructions!) in the middle of the shopping center. Wear the hud, and explore the sim to find 24 red Xs. When your HUD is full, you turn it in back at the HUD kiosk and pick out one of the amazing prizes. You can earn one item per day, and I will be going back to collect them all. This outfit, Amelia, is one of the prizes offered up by Etchaflesh. It includes the jacket, jeans, belt, and legwarmer/boot combo. The jacket is beautiful, and the legwarmers are some of the cutest I have seen, with little daggers tied to the top. Each item is 100% mesh in multiple sizes, and not only does it look amazing as an outfit, each piece looks awesome on it’s own.
The jeans and belt combo is quickly becoming a Moira wardrobe staple! Here I’ve combined them with this cute t shirt I found at Foxy. I’ve always loved the look of a pristine white tee and jeans, and these two are a perfect combination. The top has a subtle, realistic texture, and the neckline gives lends just the right amount of daring. These tees come in a 4 pack and include Physique, Maitreya, and Omega appliers for only $25 per set.
Rounding out my post this week are these amazing finds from Weaponized Sugar. The Rudrum $1 eye package includes system and mesh eyes in two sizes and three light levels. The eyes really pop, and the color is a pretty reddish brown. I snagged the manicure with Slink and Omega appliers from a lucky board while I was there. Don’t have mesh hands? No problem! Weaponized Sugar was awesome enough to set out free prim nails that will work with the manicures! Several other gifts and $1 items are available in store, so this is a must stop.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

With all the lovely Fab Free bloggers, I’m sure you will all be disappointed that the nearly-naked one is me. However, since I already have your attention, here is another helping of amazing prizes from the Menstuff Hunt. It is a 1L hunt, but many of the stores have put their prizes out for free! I realize that the outfit I am wearing will not appeal to every male avy on the grid. Some of us have very few opportunities to wear something like this. Being a blogger, though, is about helping all people find wonderful items. A great set of silks like this could come in handy one day for a rowdy intimate role play or a costume-based event, even if you are not naturally submissive. The Kanzi Silks in Brown from Lo Kajirus Designs are partially mesh, with flexi silk panels which move beautifully as you dance. In style, they have an Asian inspired design while maintaining a classic silk look appropriate for this kind of garment. This is a very sexy look, has tons of style and is a great item to pick up at only 1L.
In all of the pictures in this post, I am wearing a set of eyes I picked up in the Menstuff Hunt over at Avi-Glam. The FREE AG Frozen Eyes are a beautiful light silvery blue and are going right into my eye collection. I am especially excited because I was unfamiliar with Avi-Glam until now, so now I have another potential source of excellent quality eyes thanks to this hunt!
This pose is another prize from this Menstuff hunt. Hopefully, you are getting the idea of how broad the spectrum of hunt prizes is in this one-hundred-store hunt. The M-Sheer-Menstuff-10 from Pics n Poses is a particularly nice pose, best used highlighting the left shoulder and chest of the model. I used it turning slightly, to show more of the details in the front of the Kanzi Silks, and it worked nicely. This is a very nice FREE gift from the people at Pics n Poses.
Slipping into something a little more comfortable (for you to see me in), this really great gray suit is the FREE Menstuff Hunt prize from (Red)Sand. The Pin Stripe Suit in gray is a set including a matching mesh pin stripe blazer and slacks. The blazer has the black, open-collar dress shirt integrated into it, and (Red)Sand thoughtfully included an optional gap hiding layer, just in case you need it. As it turns out, I did not. The fit was excellent on my avatar without it. The material looks soft and comfortable; it will go nicely in my smart casual wardrobe for those nights that call for a bit more than a T-Shirt and jeans.
Oddity is an excellent store on Second Life and has created some truly amazing items, including a pair of group gift boots that are SO good, I changed the rules of my blog just so I could write them up! For the Menstuff Hunt, their prize is this unique fitmesh shirt featuring an excellent texture hud that they are giving to us for FREE! The Eivissa Mistic BASIC Shirt is definitely casual but highly attention getting with the realistic cloth textures and rich, decorative detailing. The buttons appear to be metal, standing out from the shirt and the button holes are closed loops, an eye-catching touch. The best part about the shirt, though, is the texture hud that comes with it. It offers the shirt in six colors, the trim in six colors, the buttons in six colors, plus it has two options for brightness and the choice of it being materials-enabled or not! If there was an award for most fantastic hud on Menstuff Hunt prize, Oddity would win it hands down for creating this prize!
The black jeans I chose to help show off this shirt are part of the Menstuff hunt prize from Wilson’s Designs. These are simply styled and carry a nice black denim texture making them a good choice for a go-to mesh set of basic black jeans. That isn’t all you’ll find in the hunt prize over at Wilson’s Designs. These jeans come with a gray, zippered men’s jacket, too, making the hunt prize even greater. For a FREE hunt prize, this is a very good pick up as well.
My last highlighted item this week comes from a creator who is one of my personal favorites. Over the years, Etham has made – and yes, even given away as hunt gifts – some gorgeous crosses. For this Menstuff hunt they have given us the Knight Cross Necklace in gold and black. Although it would look especially great in a Goth style outfit, it is still simple enough to be worn with more casual clothes. The Knight Cross Necklace comes with a short or long chain version and is offered to us for FREE from Etham.
I began this week’s post nearly naked; slithering about to some intoxicating world beat music under the glare of the hot desert sun, and managed to end the post sharing with you my affinity for the crosses Etham has produced over the years. I, my friends, am not easily pigeon-holed. As a blogger, that means I am inclined to share a wide variety of items instead of just those that are “my style”. Or, it might just mean I am crazy. Either way, have fun looking for the little blue T-Shirts that hold the Menstuff prizes in them, and I will be seeing you on the grid very soon!—–WHC Riler

I have never mentioned this before but many of the pictures I take for blogging are shot at a FREE photo studio, Karu’s Korner Photo Studio. You really should stop by one day, they have some very nice equipment there and it is free to use.
