I’ve Got My Little Black Dress, Do You?

I’ve got a LBD on (little black dress). Everyone needs at least one or as the case of some of us, many. You know who you are, my fellow collectors. So here’s a little quickie about a couple of event gifts.

The Magical Winter Hunt Fair & Hunt 3 is in full swing. It’s another hunt that benefits Harambee Gwassi. Each prize costs $3L. There is also the fair. Both events will end on January 15th so don’t wait too long. Most  booths have free gifts, hunt prizes, or both! I Love Lida (ILL) has a $3L prize in the booth – this stunning black dress. It’s a simple, classic look so it’s a keeper for those LBD emergencies. The Donatella dress comes only in black with a dark red belt encircling the waist.

Happy 13th Anniversary Designer Showcase!

It’s hard to understand that I’ve been in Second Life for longer than the Designer Showcase has been around! *Mind blown* There are 10 – 11 free gifts you can pick up by joining the free event group. One of those gifts are the heels I’m wearing today, courtesy of Black Angel. The Louise heels include a color change hud. They are sized for: Belleza, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, and SLink. Note, the event runs until January 25th.

Finishing Touches

My ring is yet another free gift. It’s from day 22 of the Jumo Advent Calendar. I have no way of knowing when the free gifts will disappear so hurry over and grab the free gifts in the courtyard. The Illena set consists of the ring and earrings (not shown). It’s a very pretty ring that you can change some of the rings features with the included hud.

Of course there is hair!! Mina has set the free SL F&O group gift, Alexa. Just join the free group and click on the package by the group joiner sign. There is an essential colors hud in the package and there is only the one style.

Can you read the sign? O.M.G. Art for free? You betcha! Mrs. B., one of our fabulous designers, let me know about The Free Museum. You can see a preview of some of the works in her store, Basilia’s Fine Fashions and grab landmarks to the museum. The brainchild behind the museum(s) is Haiku Quan who had the following to say:

“The Free Museum and the Second Free Museum contain works by some of the very best artists in Second Life. And every artwork here is free. You are welcome to take as many as you like. There is nothing for sale, and there are no tip jars. This is simply my way of giving back to you, the people of Second Life who make this such a fascinating world. And to introduce you to the incredible quality of the fine art being created in Second Life.”

As you wander the museums you may recognize some of the artists whose work is available to all for free. There is something for everyone’s taste.

One of my favorites is the Crococar by Cica Ghost. It’s just my style cause every Cajun gal needs one! Alpha Auer is the creator of the group of musicians seen on the right. There are sooo many beautiful pieces to choose from. If you can’t decide just grab all of them!

Here are a few samples of what you can find there. It’s fun to visit the museums and soak up some culture. There are 2 museums as noted above. make sure you visit both of them. I was a little disappointed because there was no wine & cheese to be found. Oh well, cest la vie!

The Annex Sale and Group Gifts

• In the center we have one of my most favorite outfits I bought. The top has flamingos on it! It is part of the sale. The shorts are as well and both fit the same bodies: Freya, Hourglass and Maitreya.
• The last photo is just cozy. Its a comfy pair of capris that are a FREE group gift and come in a fatpack of 10 colors. The slouchy tunic/dress is on the sale. Both fit the same bodies as above: Freya, Hourglass and Maitreya.

• Next we have my favorite to in the whole world! I would so wear this in RL. Just look at those long luscious sleeves. I bought it on sale in 2 colors. I got the skirt on sale too in two colors. Both fit Freya, Hourglass and Maitreya.

I found this gorgeous outfit at Good Fairy.  I absolutely love the Eastern and exotic styles of clothing, so this really called out to me (ok it literally screamed in my face!).  This stunning set is a free group gift and the group is free to join as well.  It comes with a HUD letting you choose from a plethora of matching colors for each part (wrap, dress, etc).  It fits:

Goddess Mode: On

Hey gang!

So sometimes you just want to feel like a Goddess.  Like you just came down to the ruins of the ancient world and have to power to make it all beautiful again.  Sometimes you simply find a dress that makes you *feel* like a goddess.  And sometimes, just sometimes…. that dress is free.  And you do a mad happy dance cause now you feel like a freaking goddess and it didn’t even cost you anything!  And then you start a lot of sentences with “and” even though you know you aren’t really supposed to but you feel like such a rebel and you really don’t care cause you are too busy happy dancing….  and then you think you need to come up for air, stop babbling like a lunatic (its a hobby) and tell everyone else how they too can feel like said goddess, for freaking free!

This is one of those times.

The Queen in Her Kingdom

There’s only two days left of Fantasy Faire, and I poked around the various regions of the event to look for gifts. There are some out, but they are a bit tricky to find. One I found was this free animated golden flower, which I thought was gorgeous. The item is made by Gabriel, and it includes the hand pose and light orbs that float above it. You will find it for free near the landing of the Tenpayo region here. It all ends on May 18th, so go soon!

Queen Natalia

Now it’s time for the feature of my post today, which is this beautiful “Natalia” skin for Lelutka EvoX heads. This is a free gift from ItGirls. I am wearing the skin in “Rose”, but it comes in a fatpack of other dark and light natural shades. Each shade also includes the lovely dark eyebrows.

For this particular EvoX skin, you will need to own a Lelutka Evolution head. All previous Lelutka Evolution heads have been updated to EvoX, so be sure to click the update button in your head folder if you haven’t had the time or interest in updating yet. EvoX is a bit of a learning curve, but I recommend it because the skins are fabulous! Once you have your EvoX head, just click the “EvoX” button on the HUD to put your head in EvoX mode, which allows you to use more detailed skin and makeup options.

Once this is all done, you will notice that with the free skin from ItGirls, that the ears and face skins are separated. You need to wear a separate tattoo for the ears. So you then need to find the matching ear skin to go with the face skin. All of the face skins and ear skins are included in the free gift from ItGirls. You can also get a pack of free EvoX ear skins, which is available for all to get on the front desk at ItGirls.

What about that sneaky neckline?

I’m sure some of you have noticed that nasty neckline that can pop up when you wear an EvoX head skin that doesn’t include a body skin. Not to fear, for Velour is here. Velour has a package of free ear skins and neck fixes for EvoX heads. To get the package, look on the front desk to get the pack for free. No group join is needed. The neck fixes work perfectly to blend the ItGirls skin with another body skin. I am currently wearing a body skin from a different creator entirely, one of 7 Deadly S[K]ins‘ BOM skins in the Caramel tone, and it blends so smoothly! These neck fixes should work with any companies that use Velour tones in their head skins and you should have few problems wearing the head skins with a different body skin.

Black Spring

This whole spring season has been filled with pastel shades and bright colours. However, who says we can’t have a darker spring season too? I have a hunt that has some darker prizes available for you, and I wore black to match the theme!

A Hunt at Ostara’s Altar

There is yet another hunt out this month at the hunt taking place at Ostara’s Altar by Dark Passion Events. My pretty flower crown is the hunt prize from [QE Design].
