Echoes of Summer

Hello Fabulouses!  Although it was a manic Monday in some parts of the world, I still enjoyed the balmy weather on my impromptu getaway.   The soft lap of waves, the cries of gulls, and the golden glow of a lovely sunset filled the air as Ripley and I explored the Salt Water sim.

Strapless Summery Fashion

A Little Touch of Bling

To add a bit of elegance, I embellished my outfit with a pair of dangling silver Shaka earrings that I discovered for 70% off at Mandala’s Marketplace store.  The detail and workmanship the designer invested while crafting these jewels is impressive.  With a texture that readily complemented my dress, these earrings added just the right touch of movement and sparkle.  I have always loved Mandala jewelry, and discovering the continued 70% off sale on certain items at the Marketplace store was enough to bring a smile to my face.

The Dreaded Return to the Grind

All too quickly, my escape with Rip will end.  I’d better savor these last few moments of serenity before we have to face Jack Frost’s chilly presence once more.  I hope you will be able to utilize the magic of SL to experience a bit of warmth and sunshine if you long for an echo of summer like I did.  Until my next post, happy shopping!

I Found the “Escape Winter” Button

Happy Sunday, Fabulouses! After all that winter weather, and the tiff between Ripley and Baloo, I decided a vacation to a tropical climate was in order.  Rip and I packed our bags, and jetted off to this Italian villa.  No polar bears, no rain, no snow, just warm sunshine and gentle breezes.

She’s Got a Brand New Dress And She’s Ready to Shine

Of course, a balmy location called for a new outfit to celebrate, and lucky for me, Carrie Snowpaw has generously set out this gorgeous, halter-style frock as an exclusive free gift for Fab Free Group members. To accessorize my outfit, I scoured the Marketplace, and came upon these silver Triple Loop earrings from Vextra Co.  I wanted baubles that would provide a welcome touch of glimmer, yet still be simple enough to let the beauty of my dress take center stage.  These hoops fit the bill perfectly. Since their price tag was only 9L, I still have plenty of jingle in my purse to bring home a collection of souvenirs from our journey, and keep a certain someone well-supplied with Ripley snacks.

I Hear the Beach Calling My Name

Stuck in the Middle

Hello Fabulouses!  Here I am TRYING to relax in the winter sunshine (finally) with a steaming mug of coffee, and I am stuck smack-dab in the center of an adolescent contest of wills between a “guard” bear and a stubborn dog (yes I mean YOU, Ripley!).  It all started with a protective glare from Rip when this polar bear lumbered up to us.  Baloo the bear then stuck his tongue out at the Pupster, and the goofy face competition began…

At Least I am Decked out in Style

I seem to be favoring sweaters lately, and today’s top is no exception.  My chunky-knitted poncho is a limited time offer for Fifty5 Thursdays at Cristal’s Creations.  I love the bright splash of teal across the black background.  With its high collar and long sleeves, I’m sure to stay toasty warm even in the midst of icy glances, and even a possible snow ball fight between two young males.  The sweater is very well made with gorgeous detailing in the ribbed texture of the fabric, and gleaming buttons.  Fifty5 Thursday sales take place every week beginning on Thursdays, and run through Sunday, with many merchants choosing to leave the sale items up for sale all week long.  You can get a peek at the items available this week {HERE}.  The Elegant Black Poncho A package at Cristal’s Creations includes my poncho shown here as well as skinny blue jeans, which I opted not to wear.  Also set out is The Elegant Black Poncho B which is the same as my outfit, except the stripes are a rusty brown tone.  At only 55L for a complete outfit, it’s a great bargain.  I’m not sure how long it will be available past Sunday, so if you are interested, don’t delay in popping over to Cristal’s Creations.

A Girl With an Attitude in Black Leather Pants

Well, if I wasn’t trapped in the center of two posturing goofballs, I probably wouldn’t have my exasperated attitude, but I would definitely still have my stunning leather pants created for the Maitreya mesh body.  Packed with details such as zippered pockets and a glossy sheen to the leather, these pants also come with a 5-color texture change HUD to coordinate with whatever top you choose.  Although I wouldn’t wear these on a warm day, they are perfect for frosty weather. Smiles on a Cloudy Day

Hello there, Fabulouses!  It has been a number of cold, gray, rainy days in a row where I am in RL, so I guess that influenced my selection of outfit and location for today’s blog post.  With a couple of lamps to guide our way, Ripley and I set out to explore the snowy It All Starts With a Smile sim. Rip never has to worry about getting the chills with his luxurious fur coat, and lucky for me, with my cozy knitted outfit and scarf from VIPs Creations, I stayed toasty warm all day as well!

Nothing Goes Together Like Winter and a Sweater

Once Upon a Fairy Tale

Once upon a time…….a fair princess named Kathryn followed her sure-footed canine Prince Ripley on a journey through the lands beyond First Life.  They had many marvelous adventures including rescuing homeless kittens, conquering dust bunnies, and spying a Kraken while sailing across sparkling waters.  Along the way, the fair maiden and her companion kept their eyes peeled for bargains and special items to share with their readers.  On this fair evening, two sweet, new friends lead our adventurers to discover yet another Fabulous Find…

Pretty in Pastel

My outfit tonight features a rose-tinted, high-waist maxi skirt which hugs my curves and drapes softly to a slightly ruffled, ankle-length hem.  Naomi comes in fitmesh in two sizes (XXS – S) and (M-L) as well as a Maitreya version.  In this picture, I am sporting the fitmesh style, even though I am wearing my Maitreya Lara body.  For some reason, the top I chose to wear kept poking through the Maitreya version of the skirt, but it behaves itself with the fitmesh option.  This long skirt is fit for a princess, yet won’t dent the palace coffers at all, since it is a free gift for the Second Life Frees and Offers Group.  Best of all, the group is completely free to join!  All you need to do to add the Naomi skirt to your wardrobe is switch to your SL Frees and Offers group tag, teleport over to the WellMade store, then tap the group gift sign.

Finishing Touches

My baby unicorn friend is gazing up at my Love and Luck Necklace from Kerriki.  I think its subtle sparkle and sheen caught the little one’s fancy.  I can’t say I blame her!  A delicate shade of pink tourmaline, the clover pendant sits suspended from a finely wrought silver chain, just waiting to bring good fortune my way.  With a price tag of only one little linden, I couldn’t pass up a four-leafed lucky charm!  This little gem can be yours with one quick shopping trip to the Marketplace. I Need Vitamin Sea!

Hello there, Fab Free!  Once again, Astrid inspired me, this time by mentioning warm weather (another great idea, Astrid!).  I, too, have been feeling the need to escape gray days, sweaters, and chilly temperatures.  The Salt Water sim provided the perfect tranquil hideaway for Ripley and I.  We enjoyed a lovely afternoon strolling on the beach, walking off those extra midnight margarita calories from Friday night (thank you, Love!).  With nothing but gently crashing waves, the cries of far off seabirds, and tangy breezes, it was a welcome relief from the daily grind.

No Jacket Required

After donning my new sheath-style dress, I turned around to see Ripley perched on my chair with the Mandala Marketplace shop brought up on my screen.  Upon noticing my raised eyebrow, he gave me a sheepish grin, nudged the monitor, then jumped down so I could check out his latest find.  The pupster struck gold (literally), at 70% off no less, with these Luck earrings in gold and brown.  In a large, hoop style with a beautiful metal texture, and dangles, they matched the tone of my frock perfectly….all for only 57L!  With my free dress and sale priced earrings, I splurged, and scooped up the coordinating Luck necklace for 70 percent off as well.  The necklace has a resize option, which is handy because it comes in a unisex version, and was a bit large for my figure at first, but after a little tweaking, it worked well.  I tossed my canine pal a few Ripley-snacks as I added my new baubles to my outfit, grabbed his leash and his favorite ball, then we journeyed over to the beach for a welcome, stress-free break.  I hope you have a relaxing Sunday yourselves, dear readers.  Until my next post, happy shopping!

Far Better Things Ahead

Happy New Year, Fabulouses!  After reading about Love and Carson’s New Year’s Eve mis-adventures {HERE}, {HERE}, and {HERE}, I gained a new appreciation for the quiet evening I spent in the company of my canine pal, Ripley.   No last minute trip to the dog park with his pals to share a few Ripley snacks, no lampshade on his head, just a peaceful stroll through The Winter Forest sim, contemplating the big changes we went through in 2016, and anticipating better days ahead in 2017.

Ringing in the New With Style

A Little Bling

It must have been my lucky day, because after the IM from Astrid, my hound with a nose for bargains led me over to Mandala Jewelry’s Marketplace store.  I was thrilled to notice the many S-A-L-E items.  I couldn’t help but dally over the 12 days of savings, 50% off, and 70% off specials.  Finally settling on antique gold, Tukemono double hoop earrings for only 37L (50% off… woot!  woot!) , I checked out, and crossed my fingers, hoping for a perfect match to the trim and bow on my beautiful dress.  Ta-da!  The shimmering baubles wonderfully accessorized my outfit, providing a touch of simple elegance.

My Day Just Kept Getting Better

If Only…

Lovely Weather for a Sleigh Ride Together With You

Happy Holidays, Fabulouses!  After a day of shopping at the Cart Wash sale, Ripley and I celebrated the arrival of winter with a sleigh ride at Pandora Resort.  The snowy landscape reminded me of the white Christmases I enjoyed when I was growing up.  Ripley had a blast trying to retrieve snowballs that I tossed his way….and he kept losing them in the snowbank!

Chic Sweater Set

My golden-hued sweater from Classy Chics was one of my Cart Wash discoveries.  If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s a great place to pick up some budget-friendly goodies for yourself.  The sale runs until January 4th, so you still have time to scoop up some finds… all for only 10L each! Hello there, Fab Free!  Ripley and I got into the Christmas spirit, and meandered over to the Winter Flakes sim this week.  As you can see, we discovered Comet and Cupid enjoying their last days of vacation before Jolly Old Saint Nick harnesses them up to his sleigh.  Much to my delight, they agreed to pose with me for this snapshot.  I think maybe my cute Miss Klaus mini dress and antlers might have convinced them, but Ripley insisted it was his charming personality that did the trick.

I’ve Got a Candy Cane for You

Love’s post about Candy Cane Kisses must have awakened Ripley’s sweet tooth.  While we were browsing the Marketplace, he quickly zoned in on Pastoral’s Candy Cane Choker.  At only 20L, this necklace provided the perfect finishing touch for my outfit, while still leaving plenty of green for my last minute holiday doggie-treat shopping.  The choker is composed of a simply-tied ribbon with a holly trimmed, cheery candy cane charm.  I love the way its deep red hue echoed the color of my dress.

After bidding farewell to Comet and Cupid, Ripley and I journeyed home, and settled down in front of the fireplace to warm up after our frolic through the snow.  There is something so soothing about relaxing in front of crackling flames on a snowy winter evening…the perfect way to end the day.  Until next time, wonderful readers, happy shopping!

Under the Light of the Moon

Hello Fabulouses!  The other day, while Ripley and I wandered through SL, he stopped, and gazed intently into the distance, then suddenly slipped from his collar.  He bolted away, leaving me holding a dangling leash, and the chase was on!  I finally caught up to him as he paced impatiently outside the Lucky Night Shop.  I tightened his collar up a notch, slipped it around his neck once more, then followed my hound with a nose for fashion over to the group gifts corner.  Sure enough, Ripley had discovered another Fabulous Find to share with our wonderful readers.

A Dreamy, Draped Dress

Ripley’s nose pointed straight at the free Moon Dress, which is the current gift for the FitMesh Fanatics group.  Following the pupster’s lead, I switched over to my FitMesh Fanatics tag (the group is free to join), gave the group gift board a quick tap, and became the proud owner of this lovely, free gown. With softly draped folds gathered by a simple black belt at the waist, this floor-length gown reminds me of a Roman goddess dress.  A delicate shade of mauve, paired with a plunging neckline, and a daring, scooped back, lend this frock a feminine air.  I love the way it frees my skin to softly shimmer in the moonlight.  Simple, yet elegant, this gown would be perfect for role play, or an evening of dancing under the light of the moon.
