Once Upon A February 14th…

Urgh! She thought as she looked at her blind date from across the table. How in the world did I let myself get saddled in with this mook? So far, this exercise at being sociable (as her friends had put it) was going at an excruciatingly slow pace and she couldn’t help thinking about all the events and hunts and sales and fairs and gacha markets that she could be exploring at the moment instead of being stuck here. At least there was dancing. Or more to a point, one dance. The only charitable observation she could make about the whole thing was that the music had been decent enough though her partner had managed to step on her dress no less than fifteen times (she counted. really). He had been apologetic, even pretended to be interested in where she had gotten it from but when she started talking about how it was a free gift from KIB Designs for the 2nd Level Event, his eyes went glassy and distant. Not wanting to be daunted, she barreled on to say that she loved the dress’ romantic full skirt and simple color scheme; that the belted detailing was something to be admired but that only got a faint nod out of him. Worse, when she mentioned that even though the dress only came in sizes for Maitreya, Belleza and Slink (hourglass as well) mesh bodies it had an alpha layer included in the gift package so that classic avatars could try out the dress too she only received a blank look for her efforts. After that fiasco, she stopped trying. No need to tell him that the 2nd Level Event was only running until the 28th and that there were more goodies to be had.

The food here isn’t half bad. Though…is he checking his phone? Is he watching a football game on it?! She had half a mind to ask him to put the cell on the table so that they could watch the game together, at least that would put her out of her misery. The courses came and went and he surprised her by asking if she wanted to take a stroll on the boardwalk instead of just taking her home. It was chilly out but he offered her his jacket and complimented her hair. Maybe things are starting to look up. Since it had all gone downhill the last time she had talked about freebies, she bit her tongue on how the Luna Phase hairstyle was currently on the no group needed Midnight Mania board at Mello. Kept silent on how the prize package contained two variations on the hairdo (one with lovely curling horns and one without) and how you’d not only receive a hud with sixteen vivid colors for the hair but also a separate one for the horns as well that allowed you to customize your look. She bottled that all up, muttered a Thank you in return and shifted her gaze up towards the full moon. Wait. Full moon? Full…Oh no! She should have made sure. She should have specified. Oh…

Several hours later she came too, propped up against a table and with sunlight shining in her eyes. Squinting she looked around and, that’s ketchup right? Please tell me that’s ketchup. Her date was nowhere in sight. Well…not all of him. She thought with a guilty little cringe as she looked at the bloody heart sitting on the table next to her. As far as keepsakes go, she’s certainly had, stranger.

Background details

The backdrop I’m using for the picture above is out now at Chaotic Creative for the Stupid Cupid Hunt 5. For just 1L you’ll get this awesomely detailed (though very very messy) Bad Breakup Propbox. The propbox comes furnished with the table, heart, and knife as shown in the picture and a light fixing that isn’t shown and has four inbuilt poses to choose from, pictured is the one called ‘Numb’.  There are two different versions of the bloodied walls included in the prize folder, one for dark walls (shown) and the other for light walls. Permissions for the Propbox are set to copy so you can make as many versions of it as you like with a land impact of six for the propbox itself and a land impact of five for the light fixing. Chaotic Creative is certainly a store to watch. If you’re interested in more products from this merchant they have prizes for older hunts out on the counter of their main room.

And that’s a wrap. I did promise to tell you how my Valentine’s Day blind date went and I think we can all agree that it was boring to be sure. Would any of you know how to get bloodstains out though? …nevermind I need to get back to playing Resident Evil 7.  Catch you guys later! Oh and here’s a full picture of the propbox itself so you can see it in all its glory:

The Most Famous Reindeer of All?

Comet and Cupid
Hello there, Fab Free!  Ripley and I got into the Christmas spirit, and meandered over to the Winter Flakes sim this week.  As you can see, we discovered Comet and Cupid enjoying their last days of vacation before Jolly Old Saint Nick harnesses them up to his sleigh.  Much to my delight, they agreed to pose with me for this snapshot.  I think maybe my cute Miss Klaus mini dress and antlers might have convinced them, but Ripley insisted it was his charming personality that did the trick.

Introducing….Miss Klaus!

Have you checked out the December edition of the 2nd Level Event currently taking place?  Many of the vendors have gifts set out ranging from a variety of poses to this adorable, holiday-themed outfit – all for free!  The free gift package from Black Rose Designs features the darling Miss Klaus mini dress.  With delicate straps, warm, white fur trim, and a silver buckled belt, this sassy number is sure to make your spirits high.  Just in case you don’t encounter Comet and Cupid, the generous Black Rose designers also tucked a cute, stuffed reindeer into the gift to keep you company.  The 2nd Level Event runs until December 30th.

What’s Included:

  • Mesh for classic avatars in XS, S, M, L, XL
  • Alpha Layer for classic avatars
  • Appliers for Curvy, eBODY, Fine, Freya, Hourglass, Isis, Maitreya, Physique, TMP, and Venus
  • Santa Hat (not shown)

I’ve Got a Candy Cane for You

Love’s post about Candy Cane Kisses must have awakened Ripley’s sweet tooth.  While we were browsing the Marketplace, he quickly zoned in on Pastoral’s Candy Cane Choker.  At only 20L, this necklace provided the perfect finishing touch for my outfit, while still leaving plenty of green for my last minute holiday doggie-treat shopping.  The choker is composed of a simply-tied ribbon with a holly trimmed, cheery candy cane charm.  I love the way its deep red hue echoed the color of my dress.

After bidding farewell to Comet and Cupid, Ripley and I journeyed home, and settled down in front of the fireplace to warm up after our frolic through the snow.  There is something so soothing about relaxing in front of crackling flames on a snowy winter evening…the perfect way to end the day.  Until next time, wonderful readers, happy shopping!
