The Scent Takes Me Back

A big part of nostalgia for me occurs with certain smells. The scent of a specific incense, or a certain soap, even flowers can trigger memories. I love that. Generally the memories are always pleasant ones. My nostalgic smells aside, I do have some fabulous group gifts to share with you, so let’s get to it.

The Dress

This cute blue jean dress does have a bit of nostalgia for me in that it reminds me of that time in the early ’90s when Guess jeans were all the rage, and denim everything was in style. It’s one of many free group gifts at Julia’s Scandal. I paired the dress with a low cut applier tank top for a bit of added modesty. This dress showed a bit more of my girls than I wanted. My shape however could have been the culprit. Either way, I think it’s a cute look. The Julia’s Scandal group is free to join at this time.

The Earrings

I know you can not see beaded the earrings I have on super well in this photo. My apologies for that, they seem to blend in with the background. I’ll include the vendor photo below so you can see these fun over-sized earrings by Indulge Temptation. They are the current Teleport Hub group gift at IT!. The earrings come in a blue and red version, and a pink and blue version, each with three metal choices. The Teleport Hub group has a one time join fee of 10 linden.

The Pose & Flower 

This pretty bento pose by Hazeel was previously a Pose Fair gift, and now can be picked up at the Hazeel pose shop, with your Hazeel group tag. The gift includes the bento pose in and out of a poseball, and the rose in pink, red, or yellow. Each rose also has a transfer version so you can pass it to others. The Hazeel group has a one time join fee of 99 linden, and there are multiple group gifts available.

The Pumpkins Stay

Hey There Fab Free’rs! So I’ve decided I can let go of Halloween, but the pumpkins gotta stay. At least until the end of November! Especially this barbed wire pumpkin candle holder by Reka. It’s a free group gift for members of the Reka group. The Reka group is also free to join. I sometimes have a soft spot for things like barbed wire re-purposed into art and the shabby-chic aesthetic.

Speaking of shabby-chic, I think these cute potted succulents fit the description as well. I picked them up for free at the Gacha Garden event. I actually picked up quite a few fantastic free gifts at the current Gacha Garden round. There are tons! The gifts at Gacha Garden require you to wear the Gimme Gacha event group tag. This group is free to join. The succulent gift is by Your Dreams. It comes with a single plant that you can copy and modify.

Next up on my little gift grabbing adventure through the Gacha Garden, this hair. I know Juli already showed you this cute free hairstyle by Fabia in her post “Fab Mad“, but who can resist that hat?! It’s another of the free gifts and it comes in a set of red hair color choices.

Pru’s other-worldly olive colored eyes are the free Gacha Garden gift from Lotus. These eyes come in Lelutka Appliers, Catwa Appliers, and a set of mesh eyes. There are 5 beautiful pupil-less color choices.

It has been a while since Pru had multiple piercings. This piercing set by Supernatural made me wonder why it’s been so long. The set is quite pretty, and is yet another free gift at Gacha Garden. The set includes 4 piercings that can be worn separately or together. There is a full set in gold, and one in silver. A color change hud for the gemstone part of the piercings is also included.

Lastly, I know you can’t see much of it, my apologies, however the wooden coffee table everything is sitting on is also a free gift at Gacha Garden. Its by a shop called Rassuel. The table is short and rectangular, with a single shelf and square legs. It’s a great basic modern looking furniture piece.

Goth Garage Sale Hunt Accessories

Hi hi Fab Free’rs! I’m back with a few more of the hunt prizes at the Goth Garage Sale. If you’re in need of a few good Goth accessories or maybe the perfect pair of chucks, this post is for you! The above photo should have been dated circa 1998 or so, because this look has me feelin’ some ’90s fashion nostalgia. haha As I’d mentioned in my previous post about the Goth Garage Sale hunt, you’ll be hunting little black cats with glowing yellow eyes. They are hidden (some more than others) around the Goth Garage Sale event and are just 5 linden each. Don’t forget, this event and the hunt will end August 8th.

Abyssal Beast Ring

I seem to recall that creepy cool rings being popular about the time I was graduating high school. It makes sense that they would be making a come-back. This Abyssal Beast ring is the Goth Garage Sale hunt prize by Venge. With sprawling black tentacles and a bright green eye, it’s an excellent goth accessory.

Koffin Nails

Lately I have rediscovered my love of nail polish. No goth look would be complete without a darkly beautiful manicure. The pretty black and red nail polish Pru is wearing comes courtesy of Dark Passions. Their Goth Garage Sale hunt item is a goth themed manicure and pedicure applier set. The set includes 6 color options each with the little black coffin with the crescent moon.

Familiar Necklace

Another of my favorites from the Goth Garage Sale hunt is this unisex Familiar Necklace by The Little Bat. I love the idea of having a familiar, I’d like to think mine would be a bat, or maybe a crow. This pretty necklace with its thin black chain and little pagan star comes with a texture change hud that will let you choose from 10 different black and white animal familiar photos to display in the pendant.

Eternal Heart

Call it a collar or a choker, I really like this Goth Garage Sale hunt prize from Senzafine. The aptly named Eternal Heart Choker comes in the black and red color shown with the cute heart dangle and heart shaped ring. It’s the perfect combination of goth and sweet.

Doodle Chucks

To be perfectly honest I wasn’t sure I was going to like these Doodle Chucks by Oubliette at first. Then I tried them on! I love the playful little scribbles and doodles on the black canvas of the Goth Garage Sale hunt prize shoes. They do not appear to be meant for any specific mesh feet, however the note card that came with the gift says they are unrigged and can be modded to fit Slink, Maitreya, and Venus flat feet. I had no problem wearing them with my Maitreya feet. I didn’t need to stretch or size them at all, just move them a little. Now I want to wear them with everything!

Appliers Please!

Hello again Fab Free! 😀 I don’t know about yo, but sometimes I want to wear applier clothing with my mesh body rather than mesh. With appliers I can still look fab and not have to worry about alpha cuts. Most of this cute applier outfit Pru has on is a recent group gift at Lushish Catz. The outfit comes with system layers as well, so you don’t need any mesh at all to wear the clothing. Both the lacy black top and the dark washed jeans are included in the FREE group gift at Lushish Catz. The jeans have a unique quilted pattern, and the sheer lace top is daring to say the least! I chose to add the red tank top underneath the gift top for some extra coverage. I think the end result is really pretty, though I’m not always as bold as some! To get this top and jean combo, just join the Lushish Catz group and pick it up for FREE. Please note that there is a one time group join fee of 50 lindens. Oh! To go with all the black lace I wanted some ruby red lips! The most recent round of The Dressing Room just started and I found this gorgeous lip applier set from #adored while shopping. This pretty “liquid lips” applier pack comes with 6 shades ranging from this deep red to pink, and orange. The set costs just 70 lindens per applier type. I purchased the Omega set to use with my Catwa head. I actually like that the applier made my lips appear a bit smaller, it reminds me of that 1920s style lip! There is another set of lip appliers from #adored available at The Dressing Room in a pack of purples and blues if red and pink aren’t your colors. I’m seriously considering going back for that set as well!

Further Frozen Fair finds

Greetings my fine FabFolks.  As Tianna told us, the Frozen Fair has a flat out ton of freebies and dollarbies set out for us this year.

I know this first outfit isn’t “Christmas-y” but I loved the casual Saturday look. This is Shine by [ZD]‘s Jules Denim jacket and shirt combo. I paired it up with Petite Mort’s bright red chucks and one of those ‘go to’ pairs of broken in jeans. My new ‘do’ is Xara from Tukinowaguma.

My necklace is from one of the Gacha pavilions set up around the fair. This is the Philisadae necklace in gold and sapphire by B!asta. Each common stone color comes with both the necklace and earrings in gold or silver. Rounding out my jewelry set is Diamante’s Snow Fantasy Globe ring. I love the gentle swirls of animated snow you can see close up.

Returning to the Christmas party findings, I have this cute futuristic sweater and leggings set from Sky. The white boots from ArisAris go with the sweater’s belt like they were made for it! A sleek smart style.

Time to kick those shoes off, but they are such nice shoes…oh the dilemma!

Phew…what a week it has been for me!  Even with as much fun as I have had doing the Do the Dot Hunt, tonight, all I wanted to do is just sit down with my shoes off, in a comfy chair. Lucky for me, this hunt has the right gifts for me to do just that 🙂 LOL

I may as well start off with the comfy chair. {Sickly SWEET} is one of the several non-apparel stores participating in the Do the Dot Hunt, and I really like the simplicity of the design of the Helena Chair with the fun pattern of the ever-present theme of this hunt, dots 🙂 The chair comes with 6 animations built-in, and depending on your body shape, they all can work well for any gender. Plus, there is an adjust button in the menu as well, so even if you find that you are sunk into the pillow, or hovering off to the left, you can adjust yourself to your heart’s content and fit perfectly. Remember, the gifts on this hunt are free, and you are looking for a ball that is white with black polka dots.

As much as I want to take my shoes off, as most people do at the end of a long day, I had troubles taking off these lovely shoes, Meshell Black-White, that are the hunt gift from Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes. Now, all you non-SLink feet loving gals out there, and I know there are many of you that just don’t vibe with mesh feet for whatever reason, these shoes are meant for the standard SL avatar feet! I’m just wearing my feet in the pics because I love the nail polish I have on my toes which is only for SLink feet, what can I say, I’m addicted 😛 That does not mean that I don’t still appreciate a great standard foot shoe, and with the classic black and white polka dot pattern, these babies are awesome.

Speaking of classic, the hunt gift from Sky is a total classic, with its cute little peplum skirt. This sweet dress is mesh, and comes in the standard sizes, and it is so easy to accessorize, it just lends itself to any colour and style of jewelry.

Lucky for me, there is a great jewelry gift from Freya’s Finest  for the hunt, a texture change choker and earrings, of which you can’t see the earrings through my hair. Every bit of these pieces is texture change. You can use the provided HUD to change the texture of the metal as well as the ring of jewels in the middle, but if you want to change the texture of the ribbon, you just need to click on it and a menu will pop-up, you can also change the metal and jewels texture through the menu as well. The earrings match the jeweled ring on the choker perfectly. The choker has mod ability, so you can make it fit perfectly.

Alright, I think my bed is now calling me, I’ve lounged around too much to want to do anything more tonight 😛 Oh, and since I have yet to mention this in my other posts about this hunt, I’ll tell you now; many of the stores have colourful polka-dot pathways showing you the area their gift is hidden in, so really, even if this is a first time hunt for you, it is a pretty hunter friendly one, especially when combined with the hints given HERE.

A Three Hour Tour

Hi!  My name is Love Trill and I will be your tour guide for the duration of this blog post.  Today we will be visiting FabFree Headquarters and exploring all of it’s benefits!!  Above you will see a handy map.  You will rez in at FabFree Headquarters right at the top of the finger on the orange hand.

The first thing you’ll want to do after you rez the property is give the group joiner which is just beside you a little click and join the free inworld Fabulously Free in SL group.  This group has been around for years and years and has grown to over 21K members.  It is a freebie themed group and you will see a ton of hot tips on where to find free or nearly free items, but also it is a friendly, knowledgeable bunch!

The next thing you’ll want to do is take a few steps into The Gift Gallery Building.  There you will find approx. 60 FREE GIFTS, generously donated by our Fabulous Designers.  These gifts rotate often, so make sure you re-visit to make sure you have all of the up to date offerings!

After you have finished snapping up all of the gifts, and TPing in all of your besties and lovers and side candy to come and get them too, you can step out of the building and check out our Gacha Area & Patio where you will find some fun places to relax and visit such as the picnic table, swimming pool, comfy chairs and the bike rezzer, but also be sure to check out the Gacha Machines lined up against the wall and building.  They are packed with awesome goodies and are all priced under 50L per play!

Spring Poppies

Good morning Fabulouses!  I am here today to share with you, more news of fabulous finds at FabFree Headquarters!  Sky has placed their very pretty, Spring Poppies Dress in pink as a free gift in The Gift Gallery.  This lovely mesh design comes in several sizes with co-ordinating alpha layer.

If you are a fan of the new slink add-on shoe craze like I am, make sure you have a peek at the Essenz Mainstore.  I picked up the Berlin heels in the colour of cream for just 100L, on sale for Secret Wednesday.  These shoes fit on the Mid version of the Slink Mesh Feet.  I will definitely be returning to this shop to keep my eye on specials!  I am so pleased that so many designers have jumped on the bandwagon of making shoes for these feet!  It fixed my “cankle issue” for good!

I also visited The Dressing Room Fusion last night and picked up a couple of fabulous 70L steals!  The [glow] Designs Studio Vega Necklace and earrings are available in two colour versions for 70L each.  I am wearing just the necklace today but the matching earrings are smashing too!  I also grabbed the Al Vulo Celestial China Red Skin for 70L.  In the pack was tons of goodies including cleavage option, tons of appliers, and the shimmering Anemone Eyes in Grey too!  I usually wind up visiting The Dressing Room Fusion a few times during their rounds lol… Amazing designers participate and you can find sweet deals!
