Rocky Road To Dublin

Aye!  The time of year I celebrate the Irish in me!  I’m not particularly sure ‘which’ part of me is Irish, but it falls on my Dad’s side of the family.  All I’ve been told, is that the Irish part of his family were a bunch of horse thieves.  I’m sure they had their reasons 😉

A Hunting We Will Go!

OK now on to the FabFree St. Patty’s Day Hunt, which is what you’re really reading this for 😉    (By the way, Miriam-Webster Dictionary states is it allowed and proper to end a sentence in a preposition) *GASP*

Today I’m wearing this totally adorable outfit by Ruxy.  It’s probably my favorite St. Patty’s Day outfit I own now.  Adorable bloomer type shorts (with pockets, ladies!) and this tight little corset vest.  Gold bows and buttons.  So cute.  The Isabella outfit is a hunt object I found at Ruxy and it set me back a whopping 1L!  It’s a full outfit, just once piece, and it comes sized for Maitreya and Legacy.  I think I’ll wear it every day until St. Patty’s Day ends.

I’m a frayed knot!

The other hunt item I wanted to show you today is this awesome Celtic Knot necklace from Lantian/Flox.  It went perfectly with this outfit, especially because it comes in a large size and a smaller size, so you can layer it on top of clothing or on a bare neck, and therefore is sized for both male and female bodies.   In a beautiful shade of gold, to match my bows, I think it completes the look.  You have to find the Fab Free rainbow over at Lantian/Flox and then take it home for 3L.

No Stone Left Unturned.

I’m going to take you on another history lesson in this post, because I took this blog pic at the oldest live music venue  in Second Life – The Blarney Stone!  I couldn’t imagine a better place to take my first St. Patty’s Day picture!  The Blarney Stone opened in 2004 and will be 20 years old this August, amazing!  It’s still a rocking hub of live music and DJ sets and I recommend it to a lot of new travelers in this realm.  Super nice people, fantastic artists, and the drinks are strong!  My dear friend Jed, who is a musician in Second Life plays shows there, and I just noticed he’s even featured on their website.  If you want to scroll back in SL history, check out the website HERE!

I have another surprise for you! Did you know Meander/Me has lucky chairs? I did NOT know this, but now I do, and so do you! I happened upon them a week or two ago and I won this most bodacious 80’s lyric dress, did this awesome Pat Benatar picture and blog post, and then (as keeps happening to me) the day before I was going to post it, they poofed! On the advice of a Fabbie, I messaged the owner who told me it was just temporary, and they would be back – and now, they are! The 80’s lyrical dress isn’t on a chair any longer though, but this beautiful red Charm gown was, and I didn’t leave until I could bring it home with me.  There’s no group required for these chairs, so the prizes are completely free, it just takes a bit of patience 😉  You’ll find it in these sizes:

Another year gone…

Well, the FabFree St. Patty’s Day Hunt is about to end in just a few days. I am showing off some of the most beautiful prizes from the hunt in this final post. Sometimes I save the best for last! My entire outfit comes from Meander/Me. The whole set is packed into 3 prize boxes.

• In the first box, you get a pretty jewelery set which consists of a large shamrock necklace and clover gold earrings with emerald jewels. This prize box costs 3L on the hunt.
• In the second box, you will find a beautiful green and gold Renaissance gown. It fits Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Venus, Isis, Freya, and Tonic Curvy & Fine. This box also includes a beautiful green and gold floral headpiece. The second prize box costs 3 Lindens.
• In the third box, for only 1 Linden, you get a pair of fantasy shoes and a green beer tankard with a hat and clovers on top of it. I also discovered that there is a pose gift included in the prize as well, but you need to rez the gift to open up the pose. I am not wearing the pose here, but it’s a “princess pose” and I was happy to find it hidden in the box!

The FabFree @ 15 birthday bash is well under way! I am loving all these posts from my fellow bloggers. Have you picked up all the gifts yet? I finally got through the list last night. Drink More Irish Beer

It’s a fine day for a pint of Guinness. Surprisingly, Guinness beer is actually good for you. For example, it may work as well as a low dose of aspirin to prevent heart attacks according to researchers. So it’s good for the heart,  as it contains antioxidants that can reduce levels of cholesterol and help reduce blood clots and heart attacks as a result.

According to a study by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, beer drinkers typically had greater bone density than fellow drinkers. Nutritionally beer contains calcium, iron, fiber & is lower in calories (the jury is still out on that one!). Might as well add a cardio workout in by dancing a jig.

Meander/Me is having a little celebration that includes tonne of freebies.

First of all, there’s the Frosted event. This event took place at the Meander/Me store. Each day between December 15th and 23th, a new item was released for sale between the cost of 0L and 99L. There are a bunch of cute items on the wall still up from the event. My cute glasses with the Reindeer nose and pretty earrings are both free gifts on their Frosted event.
