The Ancient Forest of Elves

So minutes before I posted this blog post I went to C’est la vie! to check on the beret I’m wearing.  I picked up a fatpack of pastel colors in the Fifty Linden Friday sale, and the sale is still up!  There are two packs of colors you can grab for 50L each, lighter and darker colors.  This beret has adorable flowers on the top (hard to see in this photo) so of course I chose the spring time colors!  I’m hopeful it will be out through the day if you want to grab it, but please do go as soon as you read this 😉

Rocky Road To Dublin

Aye!  The time of year I celebrate the Irish in me!  I’m not particularly sure ‘which’ part of me is Irish, but it falls on my Dad’s side of the family.  All I’ve been told, is that the Irish part of his family were a bunch of horse thieves.  I’m sure they had their reasons 😉

A Hunting We Will Go!

OK now on to the FabFree St. Patty’s Day Hunt, which is what you’re really reading this for 😉    (By the way, Miriam-Webster Dictionary states is it allowed and proper to end a sentence in a preposition) *GASP*

Today I’m wearing this totally adorable outfit by Ruxy.  It’s probably my favorite St. Patty’s Day outfit I own now.  Adorable bloomer type shorts (with pockets, ladies!) and this tight little corset vest.  Gold bows and buttons.  So cute.  The Isabella outfit is a hunt object I found at Ruxy and it set me back a whopping 1L!  It’s a full outfit, just once piece, and it comes sized for Maitreya and Legacy.  I think I’ll wear it every day until St. Patty’s Day ends.

I’m a frayed knot!

The other hunt item I wanted to show you today is this awesome Celtic Knot necklace from Lantian/Flox.  It went perfectly with this outfit, especially because it comes in a large size and a smaller size, so you can layer it on top of clothing or on a bare neck, and therefore is sized for both male and female bodies.   In a beautiful shade of gold, to match my bows, I think it completes the look.  You have to find the Fab Free rainbow over at Lantian/Flox and then take it home for 3L.

No Stone Left Unturned.

I’m going to take you on another history lesson in this post, because I took this blog pic at the oldest live music venue  in Second Life – The Blarney Stone!  I couldn’t imagine a better place to take my first St. Patty’s Day picture!  The Blarney Stone opened in 2004 and will be 20 years old this August, amazing!  It’s still a rocking hub of live music and DJ sets and I recommend it to a lot of new travelers in this realm.  Super nice people, fantastic artists, and the drinks are strong!  My dear friend Jed, who is a musician in Second Life plays shows there, and I just noticed he’s even featured on their website.  If you want to scroll back in SL history, check out the website HERE!

I’m doing some of that time traveling I’ve come to enjoy, this time all the way back to 1880’s London!  Ooooo boy, life was rough.  I saw a toddler playing next to a giant fiery furnace, yikes!  I really appreciate Second Life for these reasons, being able to travel back to recreations of past times, it really makes you appreciate life today.

Poor Clementine

At least she drowned young, and didn’t have to work in the saloon slinging drinks when she grew up, which is exactly where I found myself!  I nabbed this awesome all-in-one outfit at BMe, called Clementine and she’s straight out of a bar in the 1880s.  You get the dress, boots, BOM fishnet stockings and BOM panties in this gift, and it’s completely free.  It’s a group gift, but no group was required to buy it, just a 0L click!  If you didn’t know BMe before, she makes all kinds of Victorian RP clothing and even has a satellite shop at Victorian London.  The Clementine outfit only comes sized for Maitreya, but since part of it is BOM and it’s completely free, it’s worth trying with alphas if you wear a different body.

Cameo appearance

When FabFree chat took a day trip to Princess Stuff yesterday to help me lock a MM board (thank you!), one of the girls called this jewelry set ‘cameo-esque’ and it went perfectly with this dress.   The [Love is Magic] set is group gift for FabFree, so it’s completely free for you too.  It’s a purple rose encased in a glass globe, in silver or gold.  Both the necklace and earrings are unrigged.  Just pop on your FabFree tag (you are in our group in world aren’t you?) and pick it up!  If you’re not in our group, come join us, as we post free finds through the day in chat as well!

What’s a girl to do when she gets all dolled up and feels completely mid-century?  Well she goes roller-skating, of course!  I don’t know why I keep expecting Hillvale Beach to be PRE-Apocalyptic, but here I am, looking around for the rink, only to find it completely deserted with tumbleweeds blowin’.  (Have I mentioned how much I love this SIM?)

Leroy is having a Valentine’s Day hunt, but you must hurry!  The hunt only goes through February 15th!  There are 20 gift boxes to find, I think 4 or 5 of them are free for group members, and all the rest are 15L. – but the 15L hunt items do not require the group!  I joined the group for 20L and went about my hunting.  I’m showing you one of the group gifts (the leggings) and one of the 15L items (the top) today, which totally inspired my mid-century look.   The hunt items I’m wearing come sized for:

We interrupt this regularly scheduled pastel hearted holiday for a dose of dark liquid shine!

Aline might have thought she had a lock on the dresses you can pour yourself into, but I got my hands on one! Days Like Dead Moths

They’ve come for me, the death moths.  I think it’s these 24 hour shifts I’m working – I probably smell like death at a minimum.

The other day, Aline blogged an awesome hunt, the Anti-Valentine’s Hunt by SLS here.  I wanted to show you some other things you can find on the hunt, because it’s completely free and I don’t want you to skip it!  This hunt is the dark and gothy side of Valentine’s Day and I’m all in.

Death becomes her

Each store on this hunt has 1-5 items you can find and bring home for free!  The Second Life Syndicate website has a list of the participating stores, along with how many hunt items you can find in the store and it’s all right HERE.  I couldn’t wait to show off this dress by Petrichor.  This is the Coriane dress, and it’s designed with this gorgeous moth print, and wrapped in pearls.  It comes sized for:

So I had cruised over to UNA, and noticed she’s changed her lucky boards again, hooray!  She’s in the mood for love and so are her lucky boards!  I waited for 2 days to win this dress, and was it ever worth it!  I had to keep it a secret though, because if I told you all, then I’d never have gotten the ‘?’ on the board when I won, ha!

Only Anarchists Are Pretty

Seems as though I can flip moods on a dime these days, I go from dancing a the Go-Go to anarchy in a hot minute!

I know there’s loads of FabFree readers who love to RP.  Now there’s all types of RP here, which I don’t really participate in, but this outfit gave me vibes, so here we are!

I found myself at a store called V-Twins, which is a biker shop, that has this all-in-one outfit as a group gift, and the group is free to join!  After I took it home and tried it on, I ran over to Missing Mile, to see what kind of trouble I could get into 😉  The Dahlia outfit comes with the top/pants (with kneepads attached) and boots.  There’s a hud to change the color of the top, and to add a variety of biker themed graphics if you want.  This outfit is for female bodies and comes in these sizes:

For anyone wondering about my torch, it’s an old group gift from Death Row Designs.  Now, DRD is insanely generous, and if you join the group for free, you can get EVERY OLD GIFT EVER.  It’s in a giant crate when you land!  I haven’t gone through that to make sure this torch is in there, but it’s bound to be an extremely fun unboxing if you pick it up!

The Fly

Inspiration comes in the funniest of ways sometimes.  I’m sitting here, going through some folders, trying to decide on a great outfit to blog, and over here next to my head, there’s this giant housefly outside, just bonking it’s head trying to get in.  It won’t stop.  Bzzzz BONK!  Bzzzz BONK! Suddenly it hit me, it’s trying to tell me something!  “BzzzBeachy you have an outfit called FLY you should show everyone BONK!”

You’re pretty fly!

Admittedly, this free outfit is centered more around a butterfly than a housefly, but since the housefly inspired me, I felt I should do my blog post as a mix of the two, it’s not often we get to give any credit to a housefly after all!

Back around Halloween time, I had blogged another cool fantasy-esque outfit I picked up free from Casadel, called Cara (you can see it here).   The outfit I’m wearing is aptly named “Fly” and it’s another group gift from Casadel.  Their clothing usually has some twist of Sci-Fi or Fantasy built it, and there’s a few gifts you can grab when you join the group for free.  “Fly” comes with the top and the skirt and some panties, and a color hud for the trims.  You can choose between black or green for the main colors of the top and skirt. (Another reason I was inspired to mix both housefly and butterfly)  It comes in quite a few sizes too!

One more side note – the hairstyle I’m wearing is one of the older gifts from Tram.  Tram has a wall gifts, mostly short, mostly older styles that are completely free.  No group is required, just buy for 0L!  You can see all of them in the 2022 edition of the FabFree hair round up here.  Most of these styles don’t have a resizer script, but are modify, so you can stretch and tint them to your heart’s desire.  I bet a few of them would even look good on the heads of our readers in male bodies!
