A Harambee Haven

You all know how much I love to create a space in SL.  I find it relaxing, in a way.  There’s something about making a little getaway space that really calms me, while letting me flex my creative muscles.  And I’m doing it all for a cause and a celebration today!

Happy Birthday Harambee!

The great folks at Harambee are celebrating their 16th anniversary!  With that, there are festivities going on, one of which is a hunt for decor crafted by Splintered Creations.  Each prize is just 5L, and has an African theme to celebrate all the great work that Harambee does building schools in Kenya.  They’ve donated hefty amounts to this great cause, and are still doing so every day.  You can contribute too by searching for the little decorated maps of Africa around the sim – all proceeds go to their cause.  You’ll find info and hints when you land by clicking on the big sign on the easel.

I couldn’t resist decorating with the elephant table and candles, the hanging art and also (my fave) the flamingo lamp.  There’s LOADS more from furniture to fun landscaping stuff too.  Check out the deets in my credits below.  You’ve got until June 30th to hunt!

Easter Haul

Are you in the mood to do some Easter decorating?  How about if it’s all free?  Well, then you came to the right place!

Scrambled Eggs

Love to Decorate are celebrating the season with a fun little event that will have you hopping to stores all over the grid for free gifts.  It’s almost a hunt, but without the frustration or head-scratching.  So if you’re not a fan of hunts, but you love the joy of finding things, then this one is really up your alley (I highly enjoyed it!).  To take part, all you have to do is join the free Love to Decorate group (paste this into local chat, and join: secondlife:///app/group/cbe83c82-145e-5d2d-190e-a4bc99e09e66/about ) and then head to each store (find all the stores and gifts listed HERE) to find the large easter eggs (they’re pink, yellow and blue and usually by the landing point).  Click on the eggs, click on the word gift, and boom, the contents are yours.   I won’t double list all the things today (check out my credits below for all the slurls and info), but all the cute Easter stuff – the table, the decor on the table, the pergola and some of the flowers are all free, and make a great little spot to enjoy festivities.  There are other prizes too, so do check it out before it all goes away on April 1st.
