Coffee

Good evening, Fabfree, ( or is it morning…)

coffee

Ethan will happily tell you that I do not function in the morning without coffee. A morning… even one at a lovely beachside cottage without coffee? Unthinkable.  At least I found this comfortable new shirt at Cold Ash for free. This is the ‘Logan’ shirt in plaid and it’s the free gift for L’Homme Magazine readers. This shirt comes in the standard mesh sizes S-L and in a Fitmesh version also S-L. The alpha layer is well made and the shirt itself is so well made you may not even need it.

L’Homme readers will find numerous gifts for this August issue. The group is free to join, simply click the L’Homme sign at any participating shop.

I remain most sincerely yours,

SL Freebie Etiquette – The 2016 Edition

Hey everyone! I had some time this week to update a few things on the blog and noticed that our SL Freebies Etiquette page hadn’t been updated in years, and was needing a refresh!  I know a lot of our readers are long time residents and are aware of the ins and outs, but we do have a large new resident following too that may find this information useful…

If you have any additional suggestions to our listing, please feel free to contact me inworld (Love Trill).

SL Freebie Etiquette – 2016 Edition

etiquette

The rules of Second Life gift etiquette are quite similar to those in Real Life. Be mature, be kind and be thankful.

1. Complaining to designers about the gifts they offer is unacceptable. Designers are not obligated to offer you free items and have created a gift for you as a kind gesture. If you are displeased with the gift for some reason such as colour or size, simply delete it and go on with your daily SL business.

2. Don’t assume since you do not like said gift that others will be displeased with it as well. Standing in the store complaining about a gift in public local chat and writing group forums (inworld and web based forums) about gifts that are not up to your own personal snuff is inconsiderate to the creator of the gift and also to the others that may have picked up the gift that appreciate it. Let them make their own mind up about the gift.

3. Don’t complain about group fees. Designers have the freedom to charge whatever they want for group fees and may change their fees as much or as little as they like for whatever reason they want. If you think a group fee is too much, don’t pay it. Joining a paid inworld group is a risk as you have no control over what gifts are given and if the fee changes. It is all up to the group owner / designer to value their group fees and offer gifts on their terms.

4. Some designers have their group gift intentions in the information portion of their group. Most designers are very good about keeping their promises, but sometimes that pesky thing called RL gets in the way, and things get delayed. If a promise has been broken, politely and privately send the designer or customer service rep a notecard with your concern. There is no need to publicly slam them. Chances are it was overlooked or RL interfered. Some designers don’t state their intentions at all – and in this case, you get what you get.

5. Asking in group chat or to the designer directly for gifts is inappropriate.

6. A THANK YOU goes a long way. If the designer happens to be in the shop as you are picking a gift up, thank them or pass them a notecard of thanks.

7. If you are really pleased with a gift, take the time to send the designer a notecard with your compliments.

8. Received a compliment on your free item? Show your support to the designer and make sure you offer whoever complimented you the landmark or slurl for the location of the gift so that they can pick it up too.

In closing, please remember that every complaint (whether it be public or private), given to the designers that offer gifts may reduce our chances of future gifts. They may be fed up with the negativity and just quit putting them out all together. Your words are stronger than you think.

Encouraging and supporting designers is essential to the future of gifts in Second Life.

How to support our generous gift givers:

* Stay in their group
* Thank them for gifts
* Compliment them when you are genuinely impressed with a design
* Tell your friends about them
* Make purchases if you can

It’s Womenstuff Time

Snapshot_003
Hey there FabFree Readers! The Womenstuff Hunt is back on again through the duration of August, and Purplemoon Creations has a flavourful and exotic hunt prize for you!  All you need to do to obtain a free copy of your very own Lyuba Skirt as I am displaying today, is locate the hidden red t-shirt hunt icon at the Purplemoon Creations store.

The Lyuba Skirt (which is the hunt prize!) comes with a texture change hud that allows for six skirt / scarf colours as well as an option to add or remove the scarf.  The sizes included are XXS-L mesh, Belleza, Maitreya and Slink.

The Ariel Shell Bra that I have chosen to wear with my new skirt is by Candydoll and is part of the Ariel Gacha Set that you can play for (75L per play) at The Epiphany Event, but I am sure there are tons of cute tops that would fit the bill – possibly already in your inventory!

In fact… I’m curious which top YOU decide to wear with your Lyuba Skirt!  Pop a picture into our flickr pool and show off your style :).  Everyone is welcome – blogger or not!

ps.  Make sure you check out the group gift that is available at Purplemoon Creations while you are there hunting down that little t-shirt.  Astrid was awesome enough to show it off recently [HERE]!

Master & Mistress of Ceremonies

Master and Mistress of Ceremonies

It’s not Halloween yet, but that is no excuse to avoid good cosplay! Or just good Gothic fun. Loki and I did a little hunting and came up good with a couple of outfits you won’t want to miss out on.

You’re seeing us in Roped Passion’s matching gift for Ladies and Men for the Carnival of Souls Hunt. Just 1L will get you this is the Mistress and Master of Ceremonies outfits. Both come in all the standard mesh sizes and with a good alpha layer (P.S. if you picked up the outfit earlier before the alpha layer was out, you can pick up the alpha layer for free in a box at the front of the store now!).

The lady’s outfit includes this gorgeously detailed corset with roses and skulls, a pair of panties, a bra, and a necklace. You will also get a top hat (not shown).

The men’s outfit is an exquisite suit that comes in one piece for easy fitting and wear. You’ll need your own shoes, but a plain black pair will do nicely.

Ceremonies 2

Love tipped me off on a gift I didn’t want to miss out on, and if you are a LeLutka mesh head wearer, you may want to pick this one up too. The Laura Hurley group is FREE to join, and if you stop by the main-store you can pick up this beautiful LeLutka head applier called “Jojo” for FREE as the current group gift. I fell in love with the beautiful skin tone, the beauty mark on the left side near the mouth/chin and the deep wine colored lips. Since I wear a Maitreya body, I was able to find an applier nearby for 200L and I was set for that one cost, head to toe!
