Calling In Some Girl Squad Back Up

Hey there Fabulous Readers! When I saw the new Fish For This:  I’m In The Black Dress 7 Seas Fishing Prize at Sn@tch, I knew I needed to call in some girl squad back up to show off the amazing gifts in this great set.  I put a call out to the FabFree Bloggeristas, and while Serena was away on business and Prudence was coughing up a lung in bed, I still had three others jump up to help me out!  From left to right in the photo, you’ll see Astrid, Aline, Kat and myself. It’s Sunday instead of Friday, but I am bringing you Friday news! And I’m ready for a little rain to wash away the weekend blues. Sometimes rain is refreshing you know? 🙂

It will be back to school soon in my neck of the woods and lots of people are gearing up for that time of year. I wanted to enjoy some last minute beach time before it became “hitting the books” time. So I checked out the Pool Party Hunt to see what I could find and struck gold (or in this case black and white!) with this amazing one piece suit from Lady Dragon’s Design.

This retro look one piece suit is part the creator’s 1L offering as the hunt prize and comes in all the standard sizes, as well as Maitreya and Slink. Horr Menswear is participating in a rather nifty hunt… the Body of Evidence Hunt. This hunt has lots of excellent items for both men and women and I liked the look of the polo shirt offering that Horr Menswear is giving as their 1L contribution.

The Foxboro polo comes in all the standard mesh sizes in the color shown in the picture above and includes an alpha layer for standard avatars. For 1L and a little hunting time, this is a classic look well worth picking up.

Dream a Summer Dream

Sometimes we need to recharge… take a moment to close our eyes and dream. I found the perfect sim for it if you like art and books. You might want to stop by the Arts and Literary Salon where there is book discussions and art displays for you to enjoy.

I took the chance to put together a dreamy summer look while I enjoyed one of the blankets under a charming little tree I found. My look is courtesy of Wicca’s Wardrobe this morning.

First, I picked up the 1L Women’s Stuff Hunt gift that Wicca’s Wardrobe is generously contributing to this hunt as a prize. It is this lovely strawberry dress in all the standard sizes as well as fitmesh, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP. The box also includes two texture patterns of the dress, so you get not only the dress I am showing, but one additional pattern. And only 1L for all of this strawberry goodness!

I was pleased to discover that the August group gift at Wicca’s Wardrobe was a sexy pair of boots that matched the dress quite nicely. These over the knee dragon boots come in standard mesh as well as slink fits. To get them to fit my Maitreya body, I simply removed my feet. They are highly detailed, and there is a male version of the boots out for group members as well. If you are not already a member, the group fee is 50L, but you get access to many past group gifts as well as these fantastic boots, making it well worth your join fee.

It’s not Halloween yet, but that is no excuse to avoid good cosplay! Or just good Gothic fun. Loki and I did a little hunting and came up good with a couple of outfits you won’t want to miss out on.

You’re seeing us in Roped Passion’s matching gift for Ladies and Men for the Carnival of Souls Hunt. Just 1L will get you this is the Mistress and Master of Ceremonies outfits. Both come in all the standard mesh sizes and with a good alpha layer (P.S. if you picked up the outfit earlier before the alpha layer was out, you can pick up the alpha layer for free in a box at the front of the store now!).

The lady’s outfit includes this gorgeously detailed corset with roses and skulls, a pair of panties, a bra, and a necklace. You will also get a top hat (not shown).

The men’s outfit is an exquisite suit that comes in one piece for easy fitting and wear. You’ll need your own shoes, but a plain black pair will do nicely.

Love tipped me off on a gift I didn’t want to miss out on, and if you are a LeLutka mesh head wearer, you may want to pick this one up too. The Laura Hurley group is FREE to join, and if you stop by the main-store you can pick up this beautiful LeLutka head applier called “Jojo” for FREE as the current group gift. I fell in love with the beautiful skin tone, the beauty mark on the left side near the mouth/chin and the deep wine colored lips. Since I wear a Maitreya body, I was able to find an applier nearby for 200L and I was set for that one cost, head to toe!

This 1L hunt gift from The Man Cave was just what I needed to spell “classic look” and I took that to heart for a break and a game of Scrabble. You’ll find this gift as part of the Fall of Man Back to School Hunt. When you land, give the area a bit of time to rezz (you’ll find yourself at a landing point) and head to The Man Cave store to look for the Book that is the 1L Prize.

Inside the box you’ll find two different packages, though each contains the Jayke outfit (both this classically styled shirt with the matching pants). The shirt comes in a tucked-in or un-tucked version and the pants fit nicely with boots or dress flats. One box will contain a mesh outfit with alphas for a standard system avatar, the other will contain the same mesh outfit to fit a variety of mesh bodies, including: Adam, Aesthetic, Slink, and TMP.

I found an art installment that was perfect for my mood today… or rather… it helped me find the mood I wanted to be in. I needed something carefree and pretty and uplifting… all of which are things that this WaterColor Wander sim and the beautiful FREE gifts I found for you today will inspire 🙂

EvelineInTheBox is offering a new FREE group gift (the group is FREE to join) that is happy and a bit reminiscent of the flower child era. There is a Walden Pond Sim remake in Second Life now and I decided to visit it, I recommend you take a look if you haven’t gone yet. There is something deeply healing about the woods and nature in times when we need to reconnect with ourselves and disconnect with the things that make us feel less whole.

I picked out a pretty floral inspired group gift to make my visit with — the July group gift from Morea Style. It is a full “kit and kaboodle” gift with jewelry included. You’ll get the applier jeans and shirt with appliers for just about every mesh body out there (including some I hadn’t heard of), with some pretty flexi touches to make the top and jeans cuffs. The only thing the outfit lacks is shoes but I have you covered there as well. (Don’t worry 🙂 ).
