I got back Monday evening from a long weekend visiting family, and as much as I loved seeing everyone, I’m still bushed! lol Thankfully I was able to steal a little time to myself today and share with all the Fabulous Readers some great freebie finds. Bargain hunting always makes me feel better!
Starting from top to bottom, this cute chin-length bob hairstyle with bangs is a FREE group gift at YumYum. Technically it was the May 2016 gift, but it’s still available and still adorable. This gift includes a color-change hud with 3 options. All 3 colors have this same dark-blonde/light-brown base color with a blue, purple (shown), or pink color dye at the ends. The hud also allows you to resize the hair to best fit your head shape. The YumYum store group is FREE to join as well! I’d run over to YumYum and pick this one up while it’s still available.
Next, I felt like this FREE dress by Apple May Designs at The Free Dove was a great transition piece for the changing season. It is short and cute like a summer dress, with half sleeves and a pretty textured black material perfect for fall. Not to mention, I think this casual black dress could be easily dressed up or down, and worn with just about any shoe style you wanted. You’ll find this dress strait back on the wall at Free Dove. The dress comes n standard mesh sizes with a matching alpha.
Finally, this bold mandala style leg tattoo is a FREE group gift at Reckless. There are actually several FREE group gifts at Reckless currently, but I liked how this one looked with the AMD dress the best. This beautiful tattoo comes with an applier hud that works for Slink, Maitreya, and Belleza bodies, a second hud for TMP bodies, and classic system layers. When I saw that there was a hunt dedicated to work, working, and various jobs, I was really thrilled on a number of levels. I know that often there are contests in Second Life where you dress up to fit various themes of employment, but also I felt that this was a great opportunity for Second Life designers to show solidarity for unsung heroes. I was not disappointed. The hunt was full of wonderful things to celebrate jobs of all walks of life.
In the end, I decided to showcase this 1L nurse’s uniform from Blade & Rain. It is a one-piece mesh outfit that comes in all the standard sizes and includes a good alpha layer. What I appreciate most about it, is that it’s “real” nursing wear instead of the “sexy nurse” outfits you usually see. I really admire those who are hard at work in the medical field and it’s nice to have this option available for contests, cosplay, or what-have-you and for only 1L this is a great opportunity to pick up a great working outfit.

Most of the Hunts on the grid are winding down with today being the last day of August. But a few are starting up now, such as the Games of Thrones Hunt in Westeros. This hunt is slightly different in that there are multiple prizes in multiple hunt objects. One hunt object is at the designers main shop while the other prizes are scattered around a central “fair”. I was able to find this men’s denim jacket with attached hoodie and shirt from “It’s Gau!” at the main fair area for 1L. This is “Jeans Jacket” and it comes in the standard mesh sizes XS-XL and has a good alpha layer. Be sure to pick up the note card that is offered when you land at the fair. It has all the pictures and clues for the Hunt prizes.
The Game of Thrones Hunt in Westeros runs until September 7th.

We can hardly believe it ourselves, but Fabulously Free in SL is celebrating it’s 9th Birthday on September 6th! We have been racking our brains for weeks trying to figure out just how we’d like to celebrate and we finally came to the conclusion that it would be nice to include you all, our Fabulous Readers who have been supporting us for all of these wonderful years!
What we are doing is hosting a fun “FabFree 9th Anniversary Contest” with tons of sweet LINDEN prizes that anyone can enter!
The Low Down:
Basically, what you need to do is write a quick letter, short story, or poem expressing your positive experiences with Fabulously Free in SL. It may be a story about your favourite fabfreebie score, or a story about how one of the writers inspired you to start your own blog, or even just a quick little hello to introduce yourself and tell us your FabFree blog reading routine or how long you have been reading.
