You know I love everything fun, silly and crass.  Being able to blog gifts of this nature on a PG blog can be a little tricky sometimes, but I got away with wearing a hoodie that said ‘I love wieners’ (HOTDOGS!) so there’s that. lol

Springtime Plaid

Hello Fabulous Readers.  Oh, the things you discover when you are store-hopping in your spare time!  Last weekend, I found a free statement piece that inspired today’s outfit.  The only thing I needed was a little bit of luck.

Pretty in Plaid

The other day, when I visited the Eternus store, I was pleasantly surprised to see an “S” on the lucky board.  This flirty, preppy Never Give Up Glencheck skirt is a wardrobe gem because its neutral color palette makes it ideal for mixing and matching.  It falls to about mid-thigh and features soft pleats and a classic plaid pattern.  I love the added touch of the white heart embellishment on the waistline.  Best of all, it was completely free with no group required.

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

On the same wall as the Lucky Boards, there’s a large collection of free group gifts for members of the Eternus Store group.  My favorite is the Heart of Darkness choker, which adds just the right amount of sparkle to my outfit.  This delicate layered choker complements the deep neckline of my top.  The designer includes a HUD that allows you to choose from four metallic textures.  The group has a 0L$ join fee, so you can pick up a copy for your SL jewelry box for free.

While I was at KC Couture, checking out their weekend sale offerings, I noticed the open-toed Pasadena Heels, a free gift for members of the SL Frees & Offers Group.  They’re not very practical for a stroll through a field of wildflowers, but in SL, anything goes!  The strappy, airy design of the heels complements my new dress beautifully.  The gift includes a texture HUD with forty colors for the shoe components plus five metallic textures.  To add a pair to your inventory, you must be a member of the SL Frees & Offers Group, which is free to join.

Love Me Like You Do

Here in my neck of the woods, it’s spring already.  The sun is shining and the temps are climbing into the 80s (26ish for those of you on the smart system lol).  That being said, I recognize that February is a very cold month for a lot of people, so it was prudent of me to give you another cold weather blog post 😉

Snuggle up

This sweater is one of my favorite free gifts at the Valentine’s Day Shop & Hop and it was gifted to us by WebDew.  It’s not just any sweater, is has one of the coolest huds I’ve ever seen.  You can choose between 5 knit patterns for this dress, and then you can choose between 5 sizes of the knit pattern.  Want a tight woven knit?  You can choose that.  Want a chunky knit?  You can choose that too.  Fluffy, fuzzy, snugly, stripes, it’s really cool.  On top of that, it comes with a tinting hud, so you can make it any color you like!  Even better, you can do the sleeves, body and trim differently too!  Just a really super cool gift.  So cool, in fact, that I broke the blog rules for formatting an event blog post so I could drone on and on about this sweater 😉   It comes sized for:

Of course, a Valentine’s Shop & Hop post from me wouldn’t be complete without me wearing something on my head, so I picked this adorable headband from LOVE Fashion.  If you’re not familiar, LOVE Fashion is the clothing brand from LOVE Superstore, and she makes such adorable and affordable things.  As with every Shop & Hop there’s a gift from every store, and each gift is completely free, no group is required to pick it up.  The event opens to the public today at 9am SLT, if you’re in the Second Life Birthday group you can access it early.  The Valentine’s Day Shop & Hop is only open until February 18th, so don’t miss it!

Colors of Spring

Hello again, Fabulous Readers!  Just like Beachy said in her post here, I’m facing the reality that spring is a ways off.  I’m ok with it, though, because I have a new outfit, including a parka, that I picked up as a free group gift.

Layers are the Way to Go

The Jolie gift from La Feminique will keep me all cozied up, for sure.  I still have a touch of spring with pretty blooms on the cropped tank top.  Aren’t these flowers darling?  The puffy coat will ward off winter winds and has large pockets to keep my hands warm even if I don’t have gloves.  I love the lively raspberry hue, which coordinates well with the shirt.  Lastly, curve-hugging ribbed leggings complete the look, keeping it comfy and casual.  To pick up a copy for yourself, you need to be a member of the La Feminique Group, which has a 150L$ join fee.

Sweet Sweater of Mine

This cropped Prisca Sweater from C.Y. Fashion reminds me of  a steaming cup of mocha.  With its rich chocolatey hue, plaid scarf, long sleeves, and ribbed knit texture, it cradles you in warmth.  Its modern, wrap design highlights your midriff for a bold statement, like a jolt of caffeine.  A single button draws your eye and enhances the asymmetrical hemline.  Although not practical for RL winter, I find it a charming addition to my SL wardrobe.  To scoop up a copy for yourself, head to the C.Y. The Good Witch

Smack dab in the middle of my first day of ‘catching up’ (ha!) Spookzilla had their early open.  I was going to wait, it’s such a hard and frustrating hunt usually, but it cast a spell on me and made me go.  I felt the pull, could not stay away.  So here I am.

Load up on patience

Spookzilla requires a lot of patience.  I can’t even begin to guess how many items there are to find there, an insane amount is the best guess I have.  I do my Spookzilla in a series of steps.  First I look at the keys.  They’re all on FLICKR this year to keep the regions from lagging due to loading all the textures.  There’s a gazillion keys, and you can find them all HERE.  Then, I mark down the stores I’m interested in, and then I go searching using all my tips and tricks, for the little 2D ghosts for each store.   I’ve been hunting for 15 years and this one is always a struggle, but ultimately, I find the majority of what I was after.

My loot

The main thing I was after this year was this full outfit from Purplemoon.  I bought 5 of the 6 hunt prizes for 25L each (but I’m not really fan of sleeves so I left those out).  This is the gorgeous Good Witch of the South set, and I’m so happy it now lives in my inventory.  The items I had to find were:

Everybody Dance Now

Happy Friday Eve, Fab Free!  I returned to the hunt trail and did a little more bargain shopping today.  You all know, I can’t resist a good sale!

After my success with the Jade dress that I blogged about here, Gus and I decided to try our luck back at Blackstone.  The Bezzie Hunt, as Aline told us here, continues until August 10th, so we still have plenty of time left to seek out the remaining 9 hunt prizes at Blackstone.  Unfortunately, my hunt partner was feeling a bit pouty today.   Before heading to Blackstone, we visited the VET for the dreaded Toenail Trim (cue the dramatic music).  Even though he was rewarded handsomely with freeze-dried liver, my boy decided he needed an extra long nap to recuperate.  So, I was on my own.

Summer Sweater

It took a while, but I finally located the hunt icon (a yellow flower) in the Blackstone store.  After paying my 25L$, I headed back home to check on Gus and unpack.  The Luna top is a delicate knitted sweater with half-length sleeves.  Its rich plum shade helps the scallop pattern in the yarn stand out against your skin.  This stitch design makes the sweater airy and light – perfect for July days.  It features a button front closure and a cropped fit.

You Should Be Dancing

Two of the things I most enjoy about SL are listening to tunes at clubs and dancing.  I have two left feet in RL, so being able to move gracefully to the music is always a delight.  My AO has some built in dance moves, but I’m always on the lookout for more dances to add to my collection.  Move.Et has six different dance packs priced at just 75 L$ each as part of the Blue Sales Event.  I picked up the Jackie Dance Pack 1, which contains two moves to help you shine on the dance floor.  Here’s a short video clip of me trying them out.  I think I’m going to have to head back to the shop and pick up a few more!  The Blue Week Sale ends on July 26th.
