Hi there! I went shopping at Cosmopolitan and found presents! And I paired them with a pretty FabFree gift to show off a whole bunch of free! Nothing wrong with that. And then I decided to hang out by some stairs. That’s totally logical, right? And of course I threw in a nonsensical title and a bunch of sentence fragments. So pretty much nothing new for me. I’m sure that the run on sentences will be along shortly, don’t you worry!
Everything Cosmopolitan
After the billions of free gifts at the last round of Cosmopolitan, I wasn’t expecting anything when I heading over to do some light window shopping and demoing. But I was pleasantly surprised! There is an easel on either side of the door and each displays a free group gift. You’ll need to join the free group (there’s a group joiner right under each gift) to get them. On one side is this lovely free dress from Miimikri. I love the lace detail on the top and the pretty ruffles. It comes in this pretty soft color and in sizes for Maitreya, Slink Hourglass, and Slink Physique. The gift on the other side is a pack of free poses from Nina Rosario! I love me some poses and this pack of five of them is really nice.
Shiny Things
Every time I peruse the FabFree group gift listing I’m amazed by all of the awesome things on it. Today I picked up this pretty free jewelry set from Beloved Jewelry. It includes the necklace as well as earrings. You can only see a little bit of one of the earrings peaking out of my hair, but it’s literally the bottom of the necklace (the biggest circle and the tassel) in earring form. It’s still sweater weather where I am, but it’s warming up just enough that I can go out without a jacket. It’s hard to believe that it’s still February when some of these warm breezes blow in.

The 10th round of my favourite Second Life hunt, The Peace On Earth Hunt begins in just three days! Hello Fabulouses! There’s nothing like the companionship of a canine……always willing to lend a listening ear…..that tail wagging happily when you walk through the door. I’m so thankful for my puppy pals! Every day, they offer unconditional love, and teach me to live in the moment.
Time for a Little Side Trip
Yesterday, when I saw a group notice pop up about the new Spring Blue dress at Arcane Spellcaster, Ripley and I lived in the moment, and chose to detour over to the shop to pick up the lovely, free frock. Featuring an ice blue top layer, and a deep, sky-blue skirt panel, this little number is packed with visual details such as the patterned, wrapped texture of the bodice panel which ends in a beaded fringe dangling down. Its asymmetrical hemline, and slender shoulder straps emphasize your figure. In order to add Spring Blue to your inventory, you need to be a member of the Arcane Spellcaster AK Creations group, which will set you back 250L, but there are multiple gifts available, including a special 1500 member Amosa Club structure, so you get a lot of return on your investment.
Have you ever had a song that gets stuck in your head? I’ve had a run in or three with those pesky earworms that make themselves right at home and refuse to leave (i.e The Song That Doesn’t End). Sometimes you’re unlucky and it’s the most inane ditty ever (i.e The Song That Doesn’t End) and other times it’s…Taylor Swift. I’ve had Wildest Dreams bouncing about the ol’ cranium for days now and it’s even inspired this post.

Thankfully, I have the Fabulously Free in SL group gift list to fall back on and didn’t have to scour the grid in search of the perfect outfit to base this post around. There’s more than one gorgeous (I wouldn’t just use the word ‘nice’ to describe them) dress on this list and what I’ve got to show you today is called Melania + Kamiri +. I don’t usually wear gowns, on account of not being able to quite pull them off besides, last time I tried someone got eaten, but this stunning number manages to detract from my chronic awkward penguin-ness by having not a few factors going for it. With its figure hugging cut and a slit in the skirt that goes right up to the hip on the left side, the Melania gown is perfect for those dramatic moments in (second) life. The way the material is gathered to the left puts to mind Grecian draped dresses as does its intricate gold trimming. Speaking of, the deep gold tones blend in nicely with the gown’s main shades of turquoise, giving it a stately feel. If I get around to visiting SL ballrooms or role-playing, this dress would certainly be my go to pick.

While makeup is great, accessories do play a part in augmenting your entire look. Once again I didn’t have to look very far for jewelry as the most fitting match came in the form of the Beloved Jewelry’s FabFree group gift. The peridot gemstones of this necklace and earrings set melds beautifully with the coloring of the Melania gown and I really like the leaf-like design on both pieces as it links up well to the flowery patterns of the gown’s golden trim.
