I Will Remember You

I have been routinely checking what is going on at Free Dove… I got some inside intel that the store will remain up “about another month” until it poofs. However, I suggest you go as soon as possible because you never know when it will be formally taken down, and they have some brand new gifts out at Free Dove since I last posted about the freebie outlet. Just join the Free Dove group for free to get the gifts. I just had to share these two gifts because they are stunning…

• E.D.D.A. has set out a brand new gift for us in their designer booth. The gift is a fancy top & plaid skirt in green, perfect for the month of March. The set fits Legacy, Reborn, Kupra, Isis, Freya and Lara.
• Spells & Charms to Go has set out a new free gift which you can grab near the front of the store near where Tastic has the memorial tops set out, which Aline previously blogged right here. This new gift is a beautiful necklace dedicated to remembering Free Dove. The necklace comes in gold and silver and it’s a must-have for your inventory.

I am still sad to see this place go, but what a wonderful way to remember the amazing contributions Free Dove made to Second Life in the last 17 years.

I’m a Badgyal Now

Don’t you hate waiting for someone? Especially someone who is habitually late. I thought I was going out to dinner but my date is a no-show. I have no idea where I’m supposed to be but he isn’t here. Maybe I should call him with my phone purse. One ringy dingy, two ringy dingy. No answer! Meh . . . At least I look great.

I Got Some Goodies!

I made another trip to The Free Dove today. It saddens me to think it is slated to poof. Over my years in SL I have been there many, many times. If you’re like me each time you’re there you discover something else that catches your eye. I was mostly looking for free items to accessorize my dress. And I also wanted to see what hair styles are available. My excursion was fruitful as you can see. Note: You must join The Free Dove group that is free to join. Here is what I picked up today:

• Free A&A Astrol Hair with an ombre colors texture change hud. It’s a flexi style and it moves quite well when your avatar does. I also love the color combos on the hud that give the hair a streaked look.
• Free from My Bags Phone Purse that reminds me of the first cell phones, Back then they were huge, The color on this one is pretty cool. And a big plus is that you don’t have to dive into your purse for your cell phone because it’s right there on the handle.

A New-to-Me Store

I ventured over to BadGyal to check it out. I’d never even heard of the store before someone mentioned it. There are several free group gifts out once you join the free group. I‘m wearing one of the gifts – the Ava Heels Fatpack. Two other group gifts available at this time are 2 pair of hoop earrings in gold and silver. I’ll be keeping an eye on this store.

I am back with another post tonight with awesome finds from Free Dove. Everything is free when you join their free group. Go quickly to get these! I am not sure how much longer it will be open.

• The cute watermelon earrings are from Magnetic, and they come in gold and silver options.
• My skin is from Magnetic, and it is sized for Lelutka EvoX and Legacy, and Lara. It comes in 4 skin tones and it is a very beautiful full-body BOM skin.
• The bellbottom jeans are from Tastic, and they fit Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Physique, Hourglass, Tonic Fine & Curvy, Legacy & Classic Sizes (XXS-L). They include a HUD of several denim colours. These are a classic staple in my inventory, so I had to show off that these are free before Free Dove closes.
• The sweater – which comes in one red bohemian texture- is from Poeme. It fits Lara, Physique, Hourglass, Freya, Isis, Venus, eBODY Classic, TMP, Ocacin & Fitmesh (XS-XL).

Free As A Dove

Hey FabFree! I am hanging out at Sunflower Park, and remembering Free Dove once again. I didn’t blog Free Dove gifts very much in the past, so I have been trying my best to show my support for this fantastic freebie community before it’s too late. Doves symbolize peace and freedom, so may she fly free as a dove and rest in peace. 🕊️

A New Friend

First off, the animesh Dove companion animal is a free gift from House of Fun. You can get it on the Marketplace or at their in-world store for free. This is a lovely momento to Free Dove‘s creator and their legacy.

Free Dove Goodies

I have more goodies from Free Dove to show you all in my look today. You need to join the free Free Dove group to get them. Everything at the Free Dove is available for a limited time, as the freebie outlet will poof soon.

• This is a Free Dove tumbler mug from Star Sugar. It’s a bit hard to see, but it’s decorated with a beautiful design of doves and it says “Free Dove” on it.
• My necklace is a small beautiful gold piece from Star Sugar that says “Love Doves” on the pendant- it’s shiny and elegant!
• My pretty blue shorts are a gift from Paper.Sparrow. They fit Freya, Hourglass, Isis, Maitreya, Physique, and Venus. The shorts also include a colour change hud to change the colours of the ties only.
• The see-through BOM top and undies are a free gift from Alaskametro. These BOM pieces can be worn separately as an outfit (as a bikini swimsuit), but I choose to wear them underneath some mesh clothing to create a unique look.

We Will Miss You

As I am sure many of you have been, I have been sad to hear of Palomma Casanova’s passing and the upcoming closing of the Free Dove. It has always been an amazing spot to visit and it feels sad that it won’t be there anymore. It’s just one of those things that left such an impact on our virtual world. Palomma was a lovely and caring person, and she brought us all such joy with the new free gifts and hunts every month at Free Dove. She and the store will be missed, but I will be forever grateful for her kindness and generosity she provided us over the years.

I’ve got another post for you tonight to honour the late Palomma Casanova.  Saying goodbye to an SL institution is proving difficult for me, but I’m happy to go through the venerable building finding things I had not seen, and remembering things I had found there in the past.  Do visit before it all disappears, we know not when.

Zoom

My outfit tonight comes courtesy of Zoom at The Free Dove.  The dress and sweater come in two different gifts, but I thought they worked pretty well together.  The top comes with several different textures in the HUD, all of which are pretty fun.  Of course, to get them all you must do is join free group at The Free Dove, and click on the gifts.  Be sure to leave a note in the guest books while you’re there.  The latest news I can pass on to you is that (as far as I can gather it) there will be a meeting on the 26th with Patch Linden present in order to discuss possibilities for a permanent memorial.  I shall keep you updated if I hear more.

Find Your Why

Heyas Fabs.  I’m back again tonight with another tribute post to Palomma Casanova of The Free Dove.   It’s nice to remember the people who made our Second Life a special place, and The Free Dove was one of my earliest memories of this wild and wacky world we all inhabit.  I remember thinking “ooh… so many freebies… and they’re so nice too!”.  And I think that really, that’s what always kept me coming back inworld – a bit of fashion fun, coupled with the important relationships we all make.

We may sometimes scoff at SL (I’m sure we all have at some point), but really… think of all the important people you’ve met.  The friendships, the laughs, the stories, the weirdness… all of it.  It’s a magical world.  We can be who we want, and wear what we want, and do whatever we like, and it’s nice to think that many of us choose to spend our time giving to others and being kind.  And that’s what I’ll remember about Palomma.

In Memory of Our Fallen Dove

It’s sad to say goodbye to someone has influenced so many of us in Second Life. Also known as Dove, Palomma Casanova, owner & driving force of The Free Dove has passed way. Our dove will now soar high absent from pain or illness. Rest in blissful peace dear. Know that you will be missed.
