Chevron Pony

Happy Weekend Fab Free’rs! I want to start by saying I don’t think I will ever get tired of chevron patterns. My best friend would disagree, but I’m okay with that. So for those like me who love chevron, you have to get this dress! It’s incredibly cute on, and best of all it’s FREE!

Hi there Fabulouses 🙂  My head is just spinning between all of the baking and shopping and wrapping and wrapping and visiting that comes along with the holiday season in RL, but also it’s spinning inworld too because there are so many fantastic holiday gifts about to pick up!  Such a busy and fun time of year 🙂

Springing Into May, All Hopped Up On Freebies!

May has started out wonderfully for me, and when you get a glance at this freebie, your May will become as great as mine. FaMESHed is a monthly event on SL, and this month was actually the first time I ever attended. Being a guy, shopping events have not been a major focus of mine (until now). I am kicking myself for that though since I laid eyes on this fantastic FREE leather overcoat from Kauna! The Kauna-XIV Leather Overcoat is supplied in both a black and a brown version and is finely textured. In fact, click on the pictures in this post and you can almost feel the leather with your fingertips. Prepare to fall in some serious love with this overcoat. It is given away FREE at FaMESHed to celebrate the third anniversary of the event and to promote Kauna’s excellent line of XIV suits and separates. If you have the money, you might well be compelled to do what I did and splurge on some matching components, like the XIV T-Shirt Pack: Plain & Striped and the XIV Shirt: Coffee pictured above. They are made to fit beautifully with the overcoat and are a very nice luxury if you have the coin.

You might ask, “What if you have nothing to spend on Second Life’s great luxuries at the moment?” Well, if that’s the case, then this overcoat is still a must pick up. In addition to the components made to fit especially for this jacket, you can use other items you could already have in your inventory. Being a mesh overcoat, it might be somewhat tricky to find pieces to wear under it. With this stylish garment, I would heartily recommend system (layers) T-shirts, and (if you can find some) system dress shirts with sculpted collars. Both will look great with it. Even if you have to fiddle with the sculpted collars to find one that works well, you are going to look fantastic.

In the picture above, you can see I paired The Kauna-XIV Leather Overcoat with a FREE Group Gift from Gizza; a pink and black shirt that was offered a while back and is still available. I think it looks very nice in this outfit and is a great example of a freebie that works well. Gizza is a great place to pick up a bunch of Free Gifts since they keep their previous FREE Group Gifts out for an extended period. It would be an excellent first stop in a search for items to wear with this stylish overcoat.

Last, but far from least, I am wearing a very special set of eyes. The Mayfly – Luminous – Mesh Eyes in London Fog are a FREE Gift from one of the best eye creators in Second Life. They look fantastic and offer a wide variety of options controlled by a surprisingly robust hud, which allows variations in size, reflections, and shadowing (among other options). I love the way they look! While you are in eye collecting mode – which sounds super creepy now that I say it out loud – keep in mind that Mayfly also has a FREE Gift over at Fab Free Headquarters! The recently updated Mayfly – Deep Sky Eyes in Medium Onyx are gorgeous grey eyes. If you haven’t come by to pick them up yet, rest assured they are completely worth the trip. Although men’s clothing and special offers are not nearly as common as they are for women in SL, you can get yourself outfitted nicely for almost any occasion if you are a member of the right store groups.  I’ve got three group gifts to show you that will allow you to go from casual everyday all the way to formal, and they won’t cost you a Linden.

First off, let me show you the May group gift from Ydea – it’s still available on Ydea’s giant wall of past gifts and the group is free to join.  This tee and pair of shorts is for fans of the U.S. television show “The Walking Dead,” but you don’t have to have zombie skin in order to wear it.  The outfit includes the mesh t-shirt, mesh shorts, and a very versatile pair of casual boots that could be worn with lots of different outfits.

For slightly more dressy occasions you can stop by Gizza Creations which recently put out it’s June group gift.  Like Ydea, Gizza keeps its old group gifts available for quite some time after new ones are put out, so you can expect to be able to pick this one up even if you don’t get there today.  This outfit features a blue jacket layer polo shirt with sculpted rolled sleeves and color, and mesh denim jeans with belt included.  My shoes are formal slip-ons, the June group gift at sf design.  There’s a small group joining fee, but certainly worth it for the steady stream of group gifts and the discounts on new items offered at sf design.  I don’t know how far into July these shoes will be available free to group members, so hurry on over to get them soon if you’re interested.

And finally, for those occasions when only formal wear will do, try the Prestigious tuxedo in midnight blue by 69 Park Ave., which is available through July 3 as the group gift.  This formal tuxedo outfit can be worn in several ways.  I’m showing it here with a vest and short flexi bottom to the jacket.  The shirt-layer vest can be removed so that you can wear just the formal shirt under the jacket.  In addition, there is a jacket collar that includes a long white formal scarf, and there is a long flexi jacket bottom that is lined in white satin for very formal occasions.  All of these possibilities give you lots of style options.

Hello June!

Happy Monday! Where did our weekend go? I know that I spent mine running all over the grid picking up some stunning group gifts and being the lucky soul I sometimes am, MM prizes. It’s the start of June and there are gifts & hunts galore! Hunts were previously blogged here.

One of the great FabFree designers is Gizza. I joined this group a few months ago & have gotten many very elegant outfits from the designer, Giz Seorn. All of the previous group Gifts are available at the plaza outside the main store.

I adore the eye makeup & lip color that came with this lovely skin. I tend to gravitate towards the tan skins (that could be because I was a former beach bum in RL). These shoes are absolutely fabulous and as you can see they can be worn with many different colors. The chains are an extra touch by the designer.

Popping In With Flowers!

Hey Fabulouses! Sorry I have been a bit MIA on the blog lately! I have been very busy working with Fabulous Designers getting set up at our FabFree Headquarters that is almoooost ready to open officially!  XiuLan Quan has spent hours and hours placing buildings and planting flowers and trees and it’s really starting to shape up!  I think you all will love the new look… and it should be all set up within just a few days!  I am taking a little break from set up to show you what I’m wearing today 😉
