Making Holiday Memories

In all honesty little moments like this one are my favorite part of the holidays. I find the most joy in things like wrapping presents, and cozying up with my love to watch Christmas movies. It might be an unusual year to say the least, but we can still find moments to enjoy the little things that matter most. Blue and I got into a festive mood recently with the free hunt prizes by Always Design and Park Place on the Peace on Earth Hunt. Hello Fab Free, I hope your week has been going well. This girl could use a great big glass of wine and it’s only Wednesday. haha Though I personally do not celebrate Thanksgiving, I am very much thankful for so many things. That is my one take-away from this November holiday. Needless to say I was happy to see some hunt prizes on the Jerky Turkey Hunt that were still perfect for fall but not blaringly Thanksgiving themed. Creeper

There’s something mystical and magical about a cemetery from my perspective. Perhaps it’s the palpable stillness, and the haunting quiet. Whatever it is, to me cemeteries feel like the kind of place where anything could happen. The often elegantly carved statues, headstones, and grave markers with their memorial inscriptions give a cemetery an almost romantic ambiance. My macabre fancies aside, I am excited to share some fabulous finds from Paper.Sparrow and Asura with you!

While I might not normally be a redhead, I found this pumpkin colored hairstyle by Firelight too cute to not share. I also think that the vibrant orange-red color is quite pretty, even if it’s not my usual. That said this pretty ponytail is also free as part of the Swank Pumpkin Hunt. All-Nighter

I just couldn’t put the book I was reading down. Blue had gone to bed hours ago, at what anyone would have considered a late hour. I had replied that I too would call it a night after just a moment longer. One more page, a chapter, just a bit more.  A moment longer turned into hours later, the once blazing fire in the fireplace now glowing red embers, and the morning sun was hinting over the horizon.

It didn’t help the situation that I had the cozy comfort of the oversized arm chair and a fuzzy warm blanket to keep me content and steadily reading my book. Come to think of it the glass of wine probably contributed to my unintentional all-nighter as well. Ghost Hunting

It’s October. During this month, every bump, creak, and thud you hear seems to make your mind race. All those late night horror movies on the TV don’t make it any better. Have you ever had one of those friends that wants to pull you away from the safety of your home to go out and do some real ghost hunting? Whether it be the old creepy haunted house, run down school, or abandoned hospital. I knew two such people, that during the month of October had to visit at least one haunted place. A few years back they actually dragged me along. To none other then an old abandoned hospital. As we walked around, nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. Sure a few sounds, maybe a moan, a thud in the distance. Then they dared me to go down to the morgue all by myself.

I was younger and never backed down from a dare. Yes, now that sounds rather idiotic and stupid. Totally something out of one of those horror movies we all watch. This time it was for real, for me anyway. I headed down to the morgue, stopping to make sure the bandanna on my hair was tied tight enough, gotta keep that long then unruly hair outta my eyes. That way I wouldn’t mistake it for some type of ghost in the corner of my eye. I pushed my way through the doors and walked into the morgue, which was a bit cold.  I pulled up my hood, from my smoke skull hoodie around my neck. I looked around, pieces from the ceiling scattered on the floor, a few of the body drawer doors open, and an old gurney against the back double doors. Then WHAM!!! One of the doors to the body drawers slams closed. Then a squeak, the gurney rolls back. I turn my head and there she is. I defensively put up a hand, leg, and scream. Yes…..yes I screamed. For there was a ghostly apparition of a teenage girl standing not just two feet away from me. There I was living a real life horror movie. To which I ran away from as fast as I could.

Mysterie

Nostalgia

Have you ever been nostalgic for something? Like the smell of an old bookstore or the sights and sounds of a record store. It’d be great to be able to just snap your finger and be instantly transported into a record store straight outta the movies. Like Championship Vinyl from High Fidelity, Trax from Pretty in Pink, Polymer Records from This is Spinal Tap, Motormouth Maybelle’s in Hairspray, Chelsea Drugstore from A Clockwork Orange, or Empire Records of Empire Records. I think it would be awesome to visit Trax. When I grab the Men Only Hunt gift from Ascend and saw the way the Rick Open button Blazer looked. It gave me them Duckie vibes.

I came up with a Duckie inspired outfit, decked out a record store in 80’s vibes, and put on some Otis Redding. Before you know it I was singing

Butterfly Kisses

At times the unexpected happens. One might even say it’s magic in the making. Pru and I have had some magical moments over these years. We got to experience one such moment recently. All we did was take a walk into our own yard. Before we knew it we were surrounded by butterfly after butterfly. We don’t know where they came from, but there they were. It was breathtakingly magical and wondrous all at the same time. Them butterfly kisses are oh so sweet, fast, and a bit ticklish. Nearly made me chuckle and I know Pru giggled.
We enjoyed the perfect moment that seemed to last forever. Even though it was over before we knew it. Good thing I was dressed for it. The Men Only Hunt recently started and I jumped at it. I was able to get this great fitting tank at Kartel and these awesome looking shorts from Odiren. They didn’t cost me a single Linden. Nothing like freebies, especially when it comes to Men stuff.
