I just love playing dress up in Second Life! Thanks to a few freegifts celebrating Uber’s 8th Anniversary Round I was able to fulfill my dream of being a prima ballerina! I think the movie, White Nights, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines started that seed.
And then I watched Mao’s Last Dancer. It’s an excellent film based on the memoirs of Li Cunxin, recounting his journey from a young, impoverished village boy destined to labor in the fields of China to a world-famous professional dancer. Even if you’re not a fan of ballet it’s a great story. Anywhoo, that’s why I’m playing ballerina today.

It’s the heart of winter in my native land, but I can travel to the beach anytime in SL and imagine the sun and waves. I am always on the lookout for a cute bikini, so my mission was to find an affordable one that was both cute AND works with my shape. Cremosas was the answer! Not only did I find this super sexy fringe Bikini for 60L, I also scored sexy red sandals for 25L.
The bikini top comes in 240 colors and patterns for the straps, fringes, and the base!!!! The bottom comes in 120 colors and patterns for the fringes and base. The HUD is separate for top and bottom so you can mix and match and it doesn’t even overlap on your screen making the process so incredibly simple! This sweet little set is like have a million different bikinis in your closet!
The shoes were a gift on the Advent tree (December 15) that are now up for grabs for sale in the store. They only come in red, but are perfect for the beach OR Valentine’s Day!
For less than 100L, I scored the perfect outfit to melt away the winter blues!

It’s a time of love and elegance. Valentine’s Day approaches and you might find yourself heading over to Frank’s Elite…do you have the right dress? I am a lover of virtual gowns. They range from simple and pretty to big and bossy, and, fortunately, they come in a range of prices.
I set myself the task of finding a pretty gown in my favorite color, blush. M.O.D.A.N was the answer!!! I found this gorgeous Blush Pearl Choker Gown on sale for 75L AND the Anais heels to match for 55L via Glorious Days pricing. Those hot deals were still up Monday, but run quick, ladies, and grab them while they are hot!

Love is in the air and SL’s wedding season approaches. Valentine’s Day weddings have a been the seasonal kick off since the beginning of time (well, virtual time, anyway). But, what’s a bride to do if she doesn’t have oodles of Linden to spend on her special day? Never fear, Desi is here!
I set out to create an entire wedding outfit for less than 200L including dress, shoes, hair, flowers, jewelry, makeup, and a pose. I had two rules: the outfit would have to be something I would actually wear and the items couldn’t be part of a weekly/weekend special so they’d be available to our FabFree Readers if they wanted to check them out. In the end, this amazing outfit only cost FOUR (4!) Linden!!! (Plus a group join fee!)
Assembling an elegant bridal package was a harder task than I could have imagined, but thanks to hints and tips from my blogging sister, Jacx Broome-Waverider, I ended up with a beautiful ensemble to reflect my own tastes in bridal finery.
First, I had to say yes to a dress. I hopped on over to Siss Boom because I remembered seeing a white gown on the Lucky Boards. You can read more about my obsession with Siss Boom‘s FREE no-group lucky boards here. It took about 20 minutes, but HOORAY! I found a beautiful simple white gown named Wayward. It’s elegant and comes in two styles – sheer and solid. I am wearing shear. The solid version has modesty backing to the top. Cost : FREE!!!

Next came hair. Jacx reminded me that No-Match recently had a bun posted as the group gift. We teleported over to find a new group gift, but quickly made our way to the VIP room. The group gift was not actually a bun, but, rather, hair attachments (called No-Embrace) that could be used with bridal hair. However, in perusing the fabulous room of VIP Gifts, I found No_You Rock which is my style of a messy but classy updo complete with pearls in it. I paired that with the No-Embrace Pearls accessory to create a pretty head of hair for the wedding outfit. Price: two free group gifts with 50L join.
I tried to find a nice veil for cheap, but didn’t score. The ones I tested off of MP were, well, circa 2006. I did, however, find a pretty Pearl and Pewter Tiara from Nightfairy. You have to fiddle a little with it, but, overall, it works. Cost: 1L
For jewelry, I stalked MP for a good hour to find something pretty. I found two sets from Beloved that I liked, but settled on the Teardrop set in Silver because it matched the Tiara. Cost: 1L
For flowers, I found a simple but pretty bouquet at Wedding Princesse on MP that is currently being offered as a dollarbie. This really is a no-frills bouquet, but you only need it for a hot minute before the dancing begins! Cost: 1L
For shoes, I found LaPerla’s Apple Sandal for Maitreya in White on MP. They are simple and pretty, but you really can’t see them under the dress. Cost: 1L
Finally, to strike a pose for my official wedding album, Jacx sent me to MP to An Lar poses where for 0 Linden, I picked Like a Lady #4. Cost: FREE!!!
Total Cost for this outfit and pose? 4L (plus 50L group fee for No-Match)

Good evening, FabFree. I know I rather don’t look like myself this evening but I had to take advantage of the remarkable new free mesh head available at Bespoke. I don’t often get the pleasure of seeing such high quality accessories coming around for the men of Second Life so I grasped this opportunity with some excitement.
This is the “Yule – Elf” head from Bespoke as I said and you can pick it up for free along with four different colored skins at the mainstore. The head comes with two shapes, one male and one female. Both are very well made as are the skins. Yule also includes:
• BoM Head/Body skin “Wood”
• Rigged eyes, eyelashes, mouth
• 6 eye colors
• AO HUD
• Eyebrow Tattoos (BoM)
I can honestly say I like this head and the shape that comes with it. The shape is not simply a handsome human with pointy ears. The shape and proportions of both head and body are very ‘other’. That said, the head responds fully to the slider system and can be made into your preferred shape easily. I left the shape untouched except for two things. I did make the head to body ratio slightly larger and I made the hands slightly smaller. Simply personal preference, I would consider this head and shape ready to use ‘right out of the box’.
I did encounter a few minor issues. I felt the eyes did not fit inside the sockets well. They clipped a bit at the corners. However this could easily be changed or tweeked. It didn’t help that I wasn’t 100% happy with the colors of eyes offered but that is purely a personal preference and no bad mark against Bespoke. The other issue I had was the AO. The AO runs through a menu that I felt was a bit clunky. The animations were well done but a bit inconvenient to access. All said, I would not consider any of this a reason to not get this head and enjoy it’s use.
I want to say something about the skins both included and the four extra skins available. These are simply some of the best skins I have encountered in Second Life. They are truly astonishing. The details are both subtle and gorgeous. Even if you decide not to use them with the Yule head they are a stunning addition to your wardrobe.
I am uncertain as to how long the Yule head and the skins will be available but it is described as a “Season’s Gift”. If you would like to get this excellent elfin head and skins don’t delay.

Growing up in the mid-west a weekly Sunday trip from May to October was to the town square, we would do lunch, maybe a movie if there was something we wanted to see, and before heading home, a stop by the farmers market. LOL, we got an upgrade to an enclosed market that we can now do year-round. Jacx has taken to the idea that to keep that girlish figure she must eat healthily. So off the market modeling the Shop & Hopfree gift from Look At Me. I was tickled upon opening the gift for this new to me creator, the Look At Me Izzie Winter Gift is right up my alley. Got to love these boots, can’t beat a cheery pair of red boots all tied up with a bow. Just says it’s Xmas look at me, I’m sooo cute. Or whatever your booties say to you about how great they are. The Winnipeg Ankle boots are day 8 of the Essenz advent calendar included in the box is a hud that changes the bow, sole, and metal. The advent for Essenz requires the group, however, Senzation Domenitzo creator and owner of Essenz is very generous, if you do not have the group or miss a day. Decorating Mishap
After running around the grid Jacx has decided it’s time to decorate for Xmas, seems she has encountered a slight problem, slipping on a string of lights and ending up in the boxes she was trying so hard to wrap. The story goes something like this, back in the dark ages of Second Life’s beginning, there was a creator making striking, and innovative designs, especially in formal wear, way ahead of the rest. For 10 years, every month a new wonderful creation was to be had for free. Like all good things, this came to an end and was a sad day for forward-thinking fashionistas. With Advent season upon us, Poulet Koenkamp owner and creator of PurpleMoon Creations has made a return to the grid, for a limited time. YAY! And she comes bearing gifts 🙂 Jacx is modeling the new Holiday Dress group gift. Our story beings as most do, “Once upon a time” there was 3 innocent ladies, setting off for a grand adventure of a lifetime. Along the road chasing their dream, they have encountered many obstacles.
