Spring is in the Air

Hello Fabulouses!  It’s almost Friday….thank goodness!  This has been quite an eventful week in RL for me, and I’m really looking forward to the weekend.  While Ripley and I were out exploring, a group notice from Fabulously Free in SL (my *fav* group ever!) popped on my screen, detailing the newest free group gift from Eloise Baker.  Of course, after one peek at the photo, I high-tailed it over to the Time Portal sim as fast as my fingers could click the link!

Lavender Love

My spring floral dress in a lovely purple hue is the free gift offered to FabFree members at Eloise Baker.  This sweet, strappy feminine frock features a slightly flared and ruffled skirt.  With pastel-colored, contrasting flower-dotted panels, and a curve hugging fit, this dress is sure to flatter any figure.  Its timeless, classic design can be accessorized for vintage role play, yet also is perfect for a casual, modern look.  Soft and graceful, this dress is definitely one of my most favorite Fabulous Finds!

To Top it All Off

To add an elegant touch, and shield my eyes from the bright sunshine, I donned a wide-brimmed summer sun hat, which I scooped up for a mere 29L at the MESHit store on the Marketplace.  Since it’s completely customizable, it was easy to edit the color and texture of the hat so that it perfectly coordinated with my dress.  It seems as if they were made for each other!  I love the mysterious aura I get with the angle of the brim covering my eyes.   With its reasonable price, and flexible options for color and textures, this versatile topper is sure to find its way into many blog pictures in the future.

I Feel Lucky Today

Those Little Added Touches

Since my cropped shirt was a free gift, I had some wiggle room left in my budget, and picked up the Miley Collar from Euphorie for just 70 Linden dollars on the Marketplace.  This versatile necklace comes with a HUD that allows you to choose from 10 different hues of leather, and six varieties of metal trim.  I selected black to coordinate with my outfit, but I could have easily added a splash of eye-popping color.

With Saint Patrick’s Day rapidly approaching, I slicked on polish from the Get LUCKY! Mani Pedi Mini set from Bombora.  This 15L Marketplace find helped me get into the holiday spirit.  With the handy HUD, there are 5 options, including several versions with shamrocks, as well as this green and gold tipped finish that I applied today.  Who knows, maybe some of the luck of the Irish will rub off on me.  Actually, this would be a good time for a game of Greedy.  Too bad Ripley doesn’t play because, just like Mary Chapin Carpenter, I Feel Lucky!

Butterfly Kisses

Hello there, Fabulous Readers!  Ripley and I returned to Hobbiton this week, and I had the magical experience of having a butterfly alight on my outstretched hand as I stood in a garden of wildflowers.  If you haven’t traveled to this lovely sim, it’s well worth the trip!  Modeled after the Tolkien tales, and filled with whimsical references to scenery from the novels, Thunder Dragon Island offers optional, light-hearted role play, a peaceful setting, and spots for couples scattered throughout its landscape.

A Jeans and Tee Kind of Girl

Since I knew we would be exploring the wonders of nature, I opted for a casual spring look for our journey to the land of Bilbo Baggins.  I assembled my outfit from free group gifts available at My Style, and it was perfect for the mild spring weather we encountered.  The strappy, cream colored Kelly top  kept my shoulders free to feel the dappled sunshine.  I particularly enjoyed the loose-fitting satiny texture of the fabric.  My well-worn capris continued the carefree theme.  Complete with rolled cuffs, a buff colored belt, and a realistic, faded texture that echoed the milky hue of my tank, these pants are sure to become a spring wardrobe staple for me.  Both items of clothing are available completely for free as group gifts at the My Style store.  Simply swap over to the Avangardista tag for the Kelly tank and the My Style tag to scoop up the trousers.  If you’re currently not a member of either group, don’t let that stop you, as both groups have 0L join fees!

My peaceful encounter with my new butterfly friend did not last long, as it was soon disturbed by a canine pal dropping a branch on my toes (ouch, Ripley!).  As the beautiful winged creature fluttered away, Rip gave a joyful woof and nudged the stick, just in case I hadn’t noticed its crash landing.  Guess I’d better indulge in his favorite past time in order to save my pedicure.  Until next time, happy shopping!

The Truth Is, I Need Some Puppy Therapy!

Hello Fabulouses!  Aren’t these little guys adorable?  Ripley and I stopped today for a picnic lunch on the Bay of Dreams sim, and while we polished off our food, these little stow-aways snuck into our basket.  I guess we will just have to take them home with us!

I Discovered the Truth

When I logged on to SL today after work, I was thrilled to see a notice from the Truth Hair VIP group.  Zoya, the free March gift, sat patiently waiting for me all bundled up in the group notices.  This lovely updo style has whispy tendrils that beautifully frame the face, and a collection of curls pinned up in the back.  You can add on optional bangs, and long front and back sections to change up the hairstyle.  In my photo, I am featuring the bangs and the long section which has escaped the pins to flow down my back.  I am absolutely in love with this loosely gathered updo!  This versatile hairstyle suits both a formal look and the more casual outfit I am sporting today.  To add Zoya to your inventory, you must be a member of the Truth Hair VIP group , which has a 350L join fee, but the one time investment is well worthwhile because each month, members receive a free full fat pack of a new Truth Hair design.

All Tied Up in Knots

My knotted top today is another 1L hunt prize in the What’s Your Category Hunt.  The Alexandra shirt from Barbed Wire Kisses features a mauve colored fabric with a soft sheen.  With rolled back cuffs and a crisp collar, this top is perfect for an afternoon in the park.  The hunt prize package includes mesh for Isis, TMP, Curvy, Fine, Freya, Hourglass, Maitreya, Physique and Venus as well as mesh for classic avatars in XXS, XS, S, M, and L.  For a daring look, you can wear this top all on its own, but I chose to pair it with BSassy’s cropped Mix and Match Venice Tank in Rose, which I picked up on the Marketplace for only 49L.  It provided complete coverage yet fit snugly under my over shirt.

Seek and You Will Find

Hello there Fabulouses!  When I saw Carson’s posts {HERE} and {HERE}about the What’s Your Category Hunt, I decided to check out the female prizes up for grabs.  Ripley and I teleported over to  Ambient Fashion, and although it took some determination and many trips around the store to locate the hunt icon, the Cassandra shirt was well worth our investment of time and one little linden dollar.

Nevertheless, She Persisted

When I first attempted to locate the small black bag tied with a red ribbon, I just couldn’t find it.  I wandered throughout the store, upstairs and downstairs, and after quite some time, I gave up in frustration.  However, later while looking at the hunt prizes on the preview page, my eyes were drawn over and over to the knotted Cassandra top.  I loved the raspberry and purple tones, and became determined to add the long sleeved shirt to my inventory.  So….I returned to Ambient and searched again.  I’m so glad I did!  The satiny texture of the fabric, the realistic folds, and the dangling ties all combine to make the perfect casual cropped top and, at only 1 little Linden dollar, the price was just right!

Happy Friday, Fabulouses!  This week, Ripley and I hit the trail of “The Best of You” hunt, and my talented pup led me on a direct line to Feyline Fashions, where we discovered the complete Zylindra outfit for only 1L.  As soon as I tried it on, I immediately thought of a Middle-Earth Woodland theme for my photo.

Enchanted Elf

This dollarbie hunt prize includes every item of clothing you see in my photo plus the weapons, and will leave you fully decked out and ready for role play.  The deep green bodice features criss-crossed straps and decorative metal embellishments.  Buckled leggings, a feathered, beaded headband, a skirted belt, shoulder armor, and a flowing cloak added to the elven warrior aura of the outfit.  When I strapped on the dagger and donned the quiver and bow, I felt compelled to add a set of drow ears.  The finished look was magical.

Finding Harmony

Hello Fabulouses!  Ripley and I decided to stick close to home today and see if we could round up a budget-friendly Fabulous Find from my comfortable (well, kind of) computer chair.  Hmmm.  I wonder if we could find a really cushy computer chair on the Marketplace, too…  I certainly hope so!

Hugging Those Curves

For the promo price of only 10L, I purchased this snowy white, flirty number from M’Encanta’s marketplace store.  I love the way the Feline Dress is adorned with intricate embroidery on the bodice.  The silhouette-skimming cut is sure to flatter any figure.  It features slender spaghetti straps, and vertical piping that emphasizes the length of your torso and draws the eyes upward.

Just a Little Cover Up

Although soft spring temperatures aren’t too far away, I felt I needed a light coat to offer a bit of protection from the elements, so Ripley and I returned to scouring the Marketplace.  We found the perfect little windbreaker for only 50L from Paintbox Designs.  The Harmony Denim Jacket in dark blue provided a lovely contrast against the creamy hue of my frock, and kept my arms and shoulders shielded from chilly breezes.  Its cropped length complemented my dress, and provided warmth without overpowering my form-fitting attire.

A Hunting We Will Go

Just as I finished typing up my post, I heard a jingling sound behind me.  I turned to see the pupster trotting toward me with his tracking harness clutched in his mouth.  That can only mean one thing – a post filled with hunt goodies will soon be on the way.  Wish me luck!  Until my next post, happy shopping!

Happy Monday, Fabulouses!  It was a cold and dreary day here in RL, and I was sure glad to enjoy some warmer weather in SL.  Ripley and I ventured to the Bal Harbour sim and met some new canine pals as we looked for the perfect spot to snap a picture.

Sleek and Sophisticated

My dress today, Cupid, is a free gift for Fab Free group members from Glitter.  With its curve-hugging design and plunging neckline, you are sure to have all eyes on you once you don this deep navy dress.  I liked the way the fine, speckled dots on the fabric caught the gleam of the sunlight as I wandered around.  I felt so elegant in this dress, and chose to pair it with an over-sized black sun hat and a pair of simple black heels.  The overall effect was graceful and chic, and I will definitely wear this outfit again soon.
