Ahh, it’s the weekend again. Time to relax and enjoy beautiful spring weather. When I checked the blog this morning I saw Aline’s Fabulous Finds post. I usually find something free or for a low cost. And often I find inspiration for a post. So, hats off to Aline, our fabulous & fearsome leader!
Don’t Fear the Big Freeze
I set out on the Big Freeze Hunt after having SL eggs and spam for breakfast. First of all, this is a family hunt with prizes for dinkies, kids, and adults so it’s pretty easy to find the hunt object, an ice cream cone.
I popped into a new to me store “Let’s Get Weird” and scooped up this really cute top and jacket that features ice cream pops on both. There are gifts for both males and females (each costs just 1L). So, bring a friend or your partner. The female hunt prize comes as one piece; the top and jacket are all-in-one.

It’s another lazy Sunday here in SL. I’m resting up for whatever comes along next. You know how us bloggers are. We’re always running off here & there to find goodies to show you. Get ready for what I found in several places earlier today.
I put this outfit together with a $35L Sunday offer, another great hunt gift from The Bold Llama, and a pair of heels with tights from Chic & Shoes. First I want to tell you that current subscribers to Gaall, Chic & Shoes, Vaxxer, & Sweet Temptations can receive $300L of credit to one of the stores. The last accesories I added to my outfit are the “triskele necklace and earrings” and I think they go perfectly with my white swan look. Not many people know that I am a lawyer. Luckily, even fewer people know I am NOT a lawyer! That’s how I got chosen for my own layout in “Hot Lawyers Monthly”! Okay, so maybe I feel a little bad about letting them think I am an attorney, but let’s face it: if they were real lawyers, they would be able to tell that I wasn’t one. So, I am taking my modeling fee all the way to the bank… or McDonald’s if there is a line at the bank. I hate lines.
On the First of June, one of the best male hunts of the year began. The Menstuff Hunt features a one-hundred-store lineup and is on all month long. If you are new to doing store hunts, now is the perfect time to give them a try. I can think of a hundred reasons why you should. The hunt is not free. It is technically a 1L hunt, but the organizers allowed stores the option of not charging for their prizes and more than 2/3 of them are FREE! You are looking for an object shaped like a blue T-Shirt, inside of which your prizes await.
For my hot magazine layout, I wore the Menstuff Hunt Prize from SF Design, the Finsbury Outfit. This one-piece Mesh outfit features the shirt, dress pants and suspenders all together in one garment. It really makes looking good very easy when all the pieces are integrated into one item. It makes dressing a snap! You would think that with those items all put together in one prize, the designer might make compromises along the way, but not SF Design. The shirt is well textured and has realistic buttons. The suspenders seem to be in front of the shirt not painted on it. Last but not least, the pants have a classy pinstripe texture. Quality and convenience, it’s all there. Oh, and one last thing… it’s FREE!
I wanted a little something extra to help sell the “I know about law stuff” look I was going for and the Menstuff hunt prize from X-Sight was just what I needed. The X-Sight Geek Glasses in Charcoal lend an air of studiousness that normally can only be acquired by, well… studying. Trust me, finding a hunt object in a store is a lot easier than actually studying. They make a fine accessory to complete a variety of outfits and are also generously offered to us for FREE.
One of my favorite stores on the grid is Illi. When I heard they were participating in the Menstuff Hunt, I knew that was going to be one of the highlights of the hunt. They did not disappoint me. Their Menstuff Hunt 2015 outfit makes for fantastic beachwear. The Mesh tank top is a style I have never seen before. It hangs loosely and has front pockets like some hoodies I own. It makes for a very interesting variation of a tank top that looks great! The shorts are nicely shaped and highly detailed, right down to the plaid cuffs which are actually held up by a strap and a button. I don’t know how often that kind of detail appears in board shorts, but I can tell you it surprised me when I noticed it. The final part of the outfit are the sandals. The ones I am wearing are the classic ones and fit regular avy feet. If you are lucky enough to have Slink feet, The Mesh Project or Aesthetic bodies though, Illi has included versions of them for you in this hunt prize, too! It is an excellent gift and another wonderful FREE gift on the Menstuff hunt.
Male avies always have a problem finding inexpensive hair, and I was very pleased to see that Jaryth’s Barber Shop has a very cool hair on the Menstuff hunt. It is the David Mesh Hair and comes with a hud which gives you a choice of five shades of brown. The sides of the head are cut very short and handled with a hairbase. The top is grown out longer and looks just spiky enough to give it a cool, rebellious look. Cool men’s hair is a tough find and this one is FREE so it’s definitely worth grabbing.
My tattoo is also from the Menstuff hunt. It is the bio mech tattoo from B*FLY Tattoos. It comes in normal and faded ink variations and also has an applier in the gift (if you happen to have a body from The Mesh Project). The design is reminiscent of the kind of artwork H.R. Giger became world renowned for: featuring patterns of what could be bone, muscle and tendons in a beautiful, surrealistic way. I love this style of art and this FREE tat definitely has found a home in my inventory.
The final item on this my first post covering the Menstuff hunt 2015 is the Moonwake necklace from Rebellion. This silver chain is very well detailed, giving it a highly realistic look. The design is definitely masculine, and would look especially great with a street thug kind of look. It is not free, but for only 1L, I absolutely recommend picking it up. Well, that’s it everyone, I am gonna settle in for a nice nap on the beach and dream about all the other items I will find on the Menstuff hunt this year. Happy Friday Everyone!! I hope you’ve all had a good week and are making fun weekend plans. Speaking of the weekend, this super fun outfit would make great weekend attire for going out with friends. I usually pick out darker colors and patterns, but I just couldn’t help myself with this one! lol
Have you ever had the urge to throw on one of your significant other’s hats? I do all the time! Finally I got brave and have bought one or two of my own. This greenish-gold fedora reminded me of that. Fedoras are my favorite style of hat to wear, and sometimes having one a little over-sized is fun. This unisex hat is a current FREE gift at Fab Free Headquarters from Couture Chapeau, and it has a re-size script to fit just about any size. There’s no need to join a group, (though we’d love it if you did!) just head on over to FFHQ and pick it up.
Also at FFHQ is this pretty skin from Hankii Pankii. The bright fun make up is part of the skin, and this FREE gift includes several appliers including Slink and Maitreya, as well as a few more. Considering the colorful nature of the outfit, I knew this skin would be a perfect fit!
I’m not sure which part of this FREE group gift from ALB Dream Fashion I like best, the top or the shoes?! If forced to decide, I’d probably pick the shoes, but it would be difficult. I love the bright colorful patchwork pattern, it’s fun and summery. The top also allowed me to show off some skin, which for me really means showing off the tattoos I like so much! Not wanting to show quite so much skin? I think this loose-fitting crop top would look great with a solid colored tank under it as well.
Next, I adore this bumble bee manicure from Nail Me!. Talk about a fun manicure that is perfect for summer! This set comes with toenail appliers too, so your tootsies can be as cute as your fingertips. In addition there are appliers for Slink nails, and an Omega applier. This set is the Nail Me! contribution to the Birds and Bees Hunt. The BBH is a 1 linden hunt.
The cell phone I used with the pose from Velvet Poses is now a Marketplace dollarbie from No Cabide. Happy Sunday Fab Free! I know that April doesn’t quite mean bikini weather for everyone. For those still battling the cold weather, ArisAris has a super cute dollarbie sweater-dress out at FashionStation. This warm and cozy looking “words” dress is fully mesh and comes in standard sizes. There are little details that make the dress both cute and unique. The writing is readable and there are little holiday sayings like “peace on earth” and “let it shine”. There is also a cute detailed belt and a pretty cowl neck style collar.
In addition to their dollarbie gift at FashionStation, ArisAris also has a dollarbie gift out at the Gangster Fair. The dollarbie is this pair of color-blog wedge sandals. The shoes are meant to be worn with Slink Mid feet. Not only are they very cute on, I felt they had just enough red and purple to match with the dress. Considering the dress and shoes cost a total of 2 lindens, I think Pru turned out pretty cute! I hope you think so too.
Throughout fantasy, fairy tales, and folklore the struggle between good and evil has always been at the heart of many tales. Inspired by the dresses at AMD and my own love of fantasy, I am excited to share with you an Evil Queen, and a Good Queen. I hope you like them as much as I do!
The Evil Queen’s dress is one of 4 female 1 linden Recolors of Spring Hunt prizes hidden around the Apple May Designs main location. I love that the dress has a fitted bodice and a short full skirt. In my opinion this silhouette is perfect for a fantasy look. The red and black fabric has a satin-like look to it, and I had no problem wearing this fully mesh dress with my Maitreya Lara body. The Evil Queen dress comes in standard sizes and includes a matching alpha layer.
Today only, Glam Affair has out a pack of three gorgeous skins for 50 lindens as their Fifty Linden Friday item. One of these skins I thought was perfect for my vision of the Evil Queen. The Sia skin in the India tone with her dark red lips is just stunning on and has the right combination of beauty and drama. Not as into this skin as I am? There’s bound to be one you will enjoy between the three tones (India, America, and Artic). Not to mention that at just 50 lindens for all 3, you kinda can’t go wrong!
