It’s been a thing lately. I’ve been yearning all things circa 1980’s. I’m not sure why. Maybe I’m at that point in my life I’m starting to miss all the things that influenced the person I became. I have been rediscovering the movies, the music and the TV shows. I caught an episode of Miami Vice and remembered the fashion trend that the show started. The sports jackets over pastel t shirts. Neon and pastel colors, deck shoes were all trendy fashion back in the day.

My look today mimics the style that Don Johnson (Dakota Johnson’s dad, for you youngsters) made famous. I found the Daniel Blazier, a new release at A&D Clothing (not free) for that jacket over t-shirt look. I then turned to the Marketplace and browsed the Pepper store for other pieces for my outfit. The Chino Trousers in light plum (10L) and the all white Slip on Sneakers (2L) makes my 1980’s Miami look complete.

Hello Fabulouses! Now this is the way to start your vacation…….relaxing in a field of butterflies! Those last few days of school are so hectic; it’s wonderful to savor the first few moments of freedom. Just like Carson’s Angel, Ripley is not on his summer schedule yet, but our morning walk led me to a lovely patch of daisies full of fluttering butterflies…….pure magic!
All This is Free?
The bi-monthly Ultra Event is celebrating its first year anniversary with lots of freebies for members of the Ultra Society Group (free to join). Blue boxes at the event contain gifts from a variety of generous designers. I’m featuring two of them in my post today. First of all, my lovely tresses, called Froukje, came from Mina. I love the way the long bangs are tucked behind my ear, with a few wispy strands escaping on my forehead. In the gift package, there is one shade called “new blond,” which is this gorgeous golden yellow hue. Other color packs are available for purchase in the Mina store. I have to admit, I visited there, and scooped up some additional colors because this hair style is just so “me.”
My second giftie from Ultra is the ornate Nadine Gem Bracelet from Modish. Crafted in dark, gleaming gold with emerald stones, this delicate bracelet coordinated beautifully with my Dorothea dress (more on that in a moment!). The floral motif was a perfect match for the butterfly theme. Best of all, it’s completely free at the Ultra Sales Event!
These are just two of the many free gifts up for grabs at Ultra’s first anniversary celebration, which runs until June 15th. (There are even some for guys). I’d highly recommend a visit there!

Hey there FabFree Readers! I am just taking some time to myself to enjoy some oldie but goodies on vinyl. It makes me so sad to think back about when I was a kid and used to make roads out of the records lined up on the ground for my little brother to drive his trucks on. So many a scratched record happened, and many albums didn’t survive but there are some good memories attached to playing trucks with my brother…. and yes.. there were Barbies in those trucks. It was the only way I would play!

The first item on my summer list was being able to sleep in. And I must say it was working out simply fantastic until…. I hear the whimpering at the side of my bed. It seems poor little Angel is not on her summer vacation schedule as of yet and thinks it’s time for me to get up and cater to her needs. I grab my clothes and look for her leash… Girl, we need to talk about letting me sleep in…
Casual Camo Cargo…
Second Life often imitates Real life in my choices of clothing. My summer choice of pants is not the standard jeans, but comfy cargos and today is no exception. I happened to touch the Midnight Mania Board at DS Mens Wear and won the Jungle Camo Outfit. There is no group needed to participate. The outfit includes a tank, cargo pants and shoes for the Aesthetic body, but other than the tank looking a little big, everything else fit perfectly on my ADAM body. The Midnight Mania board changes items with each round so stop by and see what you could win today.
We are back from our walk and I’m drinking my first cup of coffee, wide awake and ready to start my day. And the dog? She’s snoring behind my chair…. /me grumbles
