Fall in Love with MadPea!

I have a confession. I was all set to do an epic post about Shop & Hop and bridal clothing…and then…well…I got sidetracked. The MadPea Cupid Catastrophe hunt became my main, um, obsession, um, focus? I’ve been a huge fan of MadPea since back in the days of building literary environments.

The HUD to participate in the hunt can be found at the HQ for the MadPea Cupid Catastrophe or the MadPea mainstore. The hunt HUD cost is 100L and comes with the most adorable heart shaped fly swatter ever created. For 100L, you get to run around the grid finding really cool places you’ve never heard of while swatting adorable Cupittos!!! You see, they stole all the little Cupids and are holding them hostage and OUR job is to free them!! It’s insanely fun, and I’ve met a lot of really awesome players and great places to take FabFree photos!

The wee Cupittos all have great names like Meany Greeny and Burpy Purpy, and they carry different point values. Even if you hunt with a pal, the point values are different for each of you because it’s totally random. Sometimes, you DO get skunked with a puff of smoke and zero points, but some include adorable prizes…and these are the prizes I am featuring today!!

In the picture are all the prizes I’ve won so far just hunting around.  I am holding the Key to My Heart sign, and the Valentine’s Banner is behind me.  The chocolates, the two Yin/Yang candles, sunglasses, and the heart basket pair really well with this beautiful tea light and candle set.  The little rug at my feet is another cool prize. 

As you hunt, you get points, and like a cool lovers’ carnival, those points can be exchanged for prizes. The more you squish, the more points you get and the more prizes you can buy! The prizes are nice, too. I have my eye on some heart shaped lights and Valentine letters and cookies. You can buy for yourself OR send some cute prizes to your best SL mates! I sent cookie letters to my new friend, Dino, because he helped me learn how to use the HUD.  I am saving up my points, though, because they release a new prize every day, and I don’t want to spend all my clams until I know my choices.

So how does this hunt work? Well you know, dear Fabbies, I hate complicated things. So, It isn’t necessary to tote around the adorable fly swatter unless you want to…and I did for at least a solid day, being the Duchess of Dorks that I am.  But, really, all you have to do is just wear the HUD and follow it.

The HUD is super simple to use. Basically, all the dots on the radar are Cupittos to squish. Your job is to get them into the center circle, squish them and release a cupid who wants to give you points or prizes! When you are successful, you will get a message like, “You have found a new Burpy Purpy. It contains a Chubby Cupid worth 50 points” and a cupid pops up on your screen. As you squish more of them, you get achievement awards.

Watch your HUD. If the shape is a dot, you are on the same level as the Cupitto. If it’s above you, the arrow points up….it’s below you if the arrow points down. Keep your sounds on because the sonar beeps faster as you get closer to one! Once you find it, you simply click on it, and ta-da you get points, prizes or…sometimes you do get skunked! The HUD calculates your success and you have found all the Cupittos once your head is clear and you don’t hear any more beeping.

To go to the next location, you click the little map icon on the HUD. It’s smart, so it only takes you to places where you’ve not yet found a Cupitto. But, you will return to same locations if they’ve put out new ones. The HUD won’t show you ones you’ve already squished. You can check your stats by clicking the little lines icon. The heart allows you to favorite cool places you’ve visted, and the gift box takes you to the place where you can redeem your points for cool prizes. The Mad Pea icon gives you a HUD menu with all sorts of choices to track your success, look at rankings, or review the FAQs.

If you want to HOST Cupittos on your land or at your store, you can buy the different types at the MadPea mainstore.  They cost between 1000-7000 depending on whether you are an Unlimited MadPea Member (5000L buy-in) or not.  I placed some on my personal RP Scotland sim, and it’s been fun watching folks try to navigate the gauntlet to get a Cupitto!

Lost Hearts Hunt ~ 25 FREE & Fabulous Gifts!!!

I love me a good hunt, but I really don’t like hunts that are just too hard.  I mean, really, who has all that spare time???  I loved (LOVED) the Lost Hearts Hunt located at Valentine Island.  There are 25 easy to find prizes all over this very well decorated Valentine’s Day sim.  There are lots of places to take pictures; lots of places to picnic, dance or play with your SL partner!  But, what’s the BEST part you ask…well, everything is FREE!!!  No group is needed :-). You have some time to get there, but definitely don’t miss it!  The hunt lasts until February 20, 2022.

I don’t want to spoil the hunt for you…so I am not telling you where any of these little hearts are located, but, they aren’t overly hard to find.  They are FREE, so just right click and buy for 0L.  Don’t try the age old trick of looking up under Creator because the amazing creator, Tayren Theas, has created pretty much everything on the sim, so you will have beacons everywhere :-). Tayren has been on the grid a long time and designs for SL Ballet.

 I’ve featured a few of my favorite FREE gifts in the picture above, but, truly, I spent 20 minutes just trying to decide.  The Asian Teahouse comes with furniture and plants (not pictured).  The ladies pajamas match the Men’s boxers (also not pictured).  This chess set that I am standing on can be PLAYED!  The Fountain behind me has running water.  The couple’s tree comes in three versions (Spring, Winter, and White Flower).  There are also adorable Valentine’s chalk posters (not pictured).  The list goes on and on.

Happy Valentine’s Day Fab Free! Can you believe all the freebies, cheapies, and sales available around the grid right now? It’s a bit overwhelming, but in a good way. For my post today I’ve got 2 great group gifts, one from Safira, and the other from Cae. I bet you can guess which one is which! I often hear the phrase “Hopeless Romantic” and this time of year, when we are nearing Valentine’s Day I would rather think of myself and others as “Hopeful Romantics.” The world needs romance. The latest group gift at Dead Dollz is this romantic little dress, which is perfect for Valentine’s Day. These letters, books, and flowers adding to the romantic setting is a free Lucky Letter Board prize décor set at Tentacio. Feeling Hearty

I always joke about people getting annoyed at me about being covered in hearts.  I’m kinda really loving all the heart-spangled clothing that February is bringing us, and I’m probably not going to stop any time soon.  It makes me think of all the best things in the world: candy, stickers, and little cards from people you love.  Valentine’s day can suck in loads of ways for sure, but the hearts are a thing that just make me squee!

So Shady

A Waltz into Darkness

Oh hi there Fab Free’rs! I’ve got some awesome group gifts to share with you. In my last post I celebrated the sweeter side of all the love and mush that comes along with Valentine’s Day. Skateboard Love

Hello hello Fab Free’rs! Hi Again Fab Free’rs! Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m just going to come right out and say it, there are days when I really wish I could wear this shirt to work irl. Just sayin’! Happy Valentine’s Day Fab Readers!

Oh, I’m all hearts and candy today, happily batting my eyelashes and being flouncy.   I’m feeling the love, what can I say?  My pretty little outfit is helping the cause as well, so read on to find out how you can grab it too!
