I think I found Toadstool in world because I saw an ad for a store named Fairiebum, and I wanted to go check it out. Fairiebum is a store for child avatars, with crayon face scribbles and Toddledoo clothes, not what I was looking for (but the stuff is super cute). Around the corner though, is Toadstool, a store I know well because they make all the adorable mushroom and flower hats I have blogged from Marketplace and events. So, wander in I did, and I didn’t leave disappointed.
Froggo friend
Immediately in front of me when I walked in the store is a panel with group gifts. A quick check that the group was free to join, and I went shopping. 😉 I was reminded of a song I heard on an Indie radio channel at some point, and so I took my froggo friend to the forest in the moonlight for a song and a stroll. I don’t normally wear a dolly dress and pink cowboy accessories for a walk in the forest, but that’s what SL is for! These are the free gifts in my picture:

We’ve been out shopping all kinds of great sales in January, and I’ve got another one to show you. The owner of [erotiK] is taking January off, but she’s set us up with a fantastic sale while she’s gone.
January advent?
So just after a crazy December advent, the owner of [erotiK] set up a January advent! This one is a little different though. There is massive calendar on the wall, and on each day, there’s a fatpack that is only 39L. It’s not really an advent, because you can see what the item is, and you can pick and choose what days you want, even if that day hasn’t happened yet. Aline looked so bright and shiny in her post about The Snowbound HuntHERE, and I think that’s because she lives where there’s a real winter and wanted to be bright. Meanwhile, one time I went to Toronto in the winter and wore color, I stood out like a sore thumb and learned the only acceptable clothing in a big city in winter is black, brown or grey.
So I did

If you’re in our in-world group chat, no doubt you’ve seen us talk about the New Resident Help Area on Firestorm Island, a place where avatars under 90 days of age can go and pick up all kinds of things to get started, mesh heads and bodies, clothing, hair, jewelry. It’s a very wonderful place to send all the new avatars too when they join Fab Free. I went to check it out, and I saw an outfit there by one of my absolute favorite designers, Fashionably Dead, (fd) for short. I fell in love with the top she has there, but seeing as though I’m 17 and not under 90 days, I had no chance to grab it. 😉 I went to the store to see if it was for sale, and it wasn’t, but it WAS up on the gift wall! When I was trying to figure out what to pair my top with, I was hit with a notice from Faga.! There’s a new group gift hairstyle in the store, called Elysium. It is a full fatpack and comes with or without bangs, and you can move the pony to either side. It’s a really a very well done style, and I’m happy that Johnny worked with Truth in perfecting his skill. He’s really making some nice stuff over there. There are other free group gifts that aren’t on display, but there’s a graphic under this gift that you can click to get the previous gifts. The group join for FAGA is 350L which is a steal for one fatpack of hair, let alone the other group gifts too.
Admittedly, it was nearly impossible to blog an open back top and a front facing pony tail in the same picture, but you’ll see in better detail when you TP to these stores. 😉

When I picked up these boots for free, as part of the MSGN Train at Aphorism!, I didn’t realize Rucy had a group gift available to match them. I used them first in my post HERE. Well, now I’ve got a gorgeous new matching sweater dress, so I’m back to blog them both.
The Lyla sweater dress is the latest group gift from Aphorism! which is 50L to join. It comes in this Bordeaux color, and the hud is fun. You can change the color of the collar and the cuffs with the hud, and you can choose between knit, ribbed and cableknit in both PBR and fall back colors.

I shop at Bauhaus, mostly because Emma is always sending me sales and she shops there every weekend I think, so I was excited when I found a reason to join the group. I’ve never seen a group gift offered at the store, but there’s one now, and it’s this adorable one piece outfit. It comes with a Christmasy/NY color hud of black, white, red and green. I wanted a pop of color with my black and white outfit, so I added the newest group gift from N-Core. These shoes, called Glitter, are a pair of stilettos with a fatpack of glitter options. Hot pink was calling my name. Currently the N-Core group is 250L to join, although it fluctuates at times. There’s a whole bunch of other gifts on the wall, including a pair of Santa inspired heels we got for Christmas.
Since I had a pop of color at the bottom of my outfit, I wanted one at the top, and I found these star earrings from Luova on Marketplace. They are a gift and are listed for 1L. They come with that famous Luova color hud, which has every color under the sun!

I don’t know about the life you lead outside of Secondlife, but I can absolutely say one of the best things a girl can do it get away to a nice hotel and treat herself. It’s even better when you have someone you can meet there for a long weekend 😉 Hotel lounges, piano bars, room service, high thread count sheets … this is one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind.
