Getting ready

The need to unwind

It’s been a pretty busy couple of days for me out in the real world (the kind that leaves you feeling as if you’ve been trampled on by a small herd of elephants). While all of this stampeding activity is far from over I thought I’d take advantage of a lucky little lull to sneak onto SL for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Seeing how it’s St Patrick’s Day, a green outfit was in order and happily enough Baby Monkey’s new free group gift, Else, was just the dress for this occasion. This quarter sleeved, collared shirt dress has a chic retro vibe to it that’s accentuated by the pretty bowed belt at its waist. The cherry blossom print of the Else dress not only adds a dash of sweetness to the outfit but a lovely contrasting white as well. What I adore most about this new group gift, however, is its versatility. You’re able to wear the blouse and skirt components as one single outfit or wear them individually to mix and match with other pieces of clothing in your inventory. The gift package includes a hud which lets you switch up between two different colors (warm green and bright blue) for the blouse, skirt, and belt, opening up more combinations for you to play around with. Sizes include:

Blouse:

  • 1 Fitmesh size with alpha layer
  • Slink Physique and Hourglass
  • Belleza Venus, Freya, and Isis
  • Maitreya

Skirt:

  • 1 Fitmesh size with alpha layer
  • Slink Physique and Hourglass
  • Belleza Venus, Freya, and Isis
  • Maitreya

Dress:

  • 1 Fitmesh size with alpha layer
  • Slink Physique and Hourglass
  • Belleza Venus, Freya and Isis
  • Maitreya

The Baby Monkey Group costs 20L to join and to add the Else dress to your collection you’ll just have to pay the vendor 1L before getting an instant refund. Use that dollar to snap up the other current group gifts at the store as well (past group gifts cost 10L each).

Getting ready

Accessorize

Speaking of eye-catching colors, the Aishas set from Legendarie certainly fits the bill very well. These lovely fuschia heels and matching clutch bag are a free gift for everyone, meaning that you don’t have to use up group slots or tap any sub-o machines to get your hands on them. There was no way I could pass up on these flirty strappy slingbacks (only made for Slink high feet, however) and the fact that there’s a matching clutch thrown into the mix just sweetens up the pot. There are two different versions of the clutch bag included in the gift package, one worn on your avatar’s hand and the other worn higher. You’re able to move, rotate and stretch the clutch and permissions are set to copy so do make backups before editing. I’m not sure how long this pretty gift will be out for so get it ASAP.  Legendarie is a generous store that set out free gifts fairly regularly so I would recommend putting it on your ‘must watch’ list. Though there’s a 99L group join fee there are tons of past gifts to pick up at the store.

Hairstyles

One of these days I’ll stop writing about the Liaison Collaborative’s birthday round but that day clearly isn’t today. There are so many great free gifts by awesome designers and I was really excited to discover that there’s not one but two hairstyles that you can snap up at the event at no cost at all. The Ullrika hairstyle from EMO-tions is a great messy updo that allows you to just toe the line when looking for something elegant by not too formal. The pretty braided details of the Ullrika hairstyle are a very nice touch as well. In the gift package, you’ll receive

  • Two versions of the Ullrika hairstyle, one for larger chests
  • Huds for the Black/White, Blondes, Brunettes, Reds and Pastels palette colors. Each hud contains eight tones and a resize script
  • Fatpack of tattoo hairbases for classic avatars
  • Hairbase appliers for Catwa, Lelutka and mesh heads using the Omega system.
  • Hair alpha layer

The Liaison Collaborative’s birthday round is running until the end of the month so go and snap up your gifts if you haven’t already.

And that’s a wrap. I’ve got my keys right here and I’m pretty sure I haven’t left the stove on. Time to hit the grid and take a peek at those Fifty Linden Friday offers. Happy St Patrick’s Day! I’ll catch you guys later!

A day at home

A day at home

Homebody

It’s the middle of the week and I’ve put adventuring on hold for a little bit to take a look at all the free gifts and dollarbies that have been collected over the past several days. With events such as the Vintage Gacha Fair and Liaison Collaborative’s Birthday round, not to mention fun hunts such as the Into the Blue Hunt and great deals on the Marketplace, my loot bag has been filled to the brim.  This casual (finally!) look today was pulled from all of the above and here are the details top to toe;

Let your hair down

Today’s hairstyle is called No Diva, a free gift that’s been generously set out by no.match at their Liaison Collaborative booth. While I’ve heard whispers of the no.match brand before (isn’t Carson’s celebrated new do’ from that store?) I’ve not yet had a chance to try out their products. As the old adage goes, there’s no time like the present and suffice to say I was very gleeful when I tried this hairstyle on for size. To be honest, it was really off to a promising start when I saw that the prize prim was labeled as ‘unicorn’ and guessed that I was in for some really wild and special colors. The multicolored shades go hand in hand with the lovely over the shoulder swirl of the No Diva hairstyle. If red and rainbow tones don’t suit your taste, however, the gift package contains a hud which lets you choose from twelve different color sets.  Other contents of the gift package include:

  • No Diva hairstyle in two different sizes
  • Alpha layer
  • Package containing tattoo hairbases for classic avatars
  • Package containing applier hairbases for mesh heads (TMP, Lelutka, Catwa – Jessica, Omega)
  • Face moles tattoo layer

The birthday round of the Liaison Collaborative closes its doors on the 30th of this month so go and snag this sweet hairstyle before then. Also, Serena’s made a lovely post of some of the other free gifts available at the Liaison Collaborative so get your hands on those too!

To the Market(place) we’ll go

Personally, I’ve found that one of the best times to visit the Marketplace is when I’m stalking Lucky Letter boards/chairs/balloons. While attempting to multitask might make me miss my letter or that magical wildcard round, sometimes it’s worth it when you find a store like !gO! which offer up a plenty of varied dollarbies for sale. One of the first of said dollarbies to catch my eye, thanks to its pretty orange shade, was the Nico shirt. This spaghetti strap top is certainly Spring and Summer-ready and comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) with two nifty alpha layers to help with the fitting. The alpha layers are split according to size with sizes XXS-M sharing one alpha layer and the L size with a larger one.  As mentioned the !gO! store boasts several different dollarbies so if you love clothing in the Boho or Vintage style, spend some time taking a look around.

Speaking of Vintage

While I’ve talked about Faida’s Vintage Gacha Fair gacha offering in my last post, I thought that the free gift that they’ve kindly put out at their stall deserved a mention as well. I’m always looking for a good pair of pants and the steamy leather pack certainly fit the bill nicely. While capris can be a rather iffy subject (we all have that one style of clothing that’s pretty low on our list right?) for me, I did like how these ended in soft tiered fabric. Not only did it add a nice feminine touch to the outfit, it also provided a dash of patterns (tatarn) to what would have otherwise been an outfit comprised of only solid colors. The steamy leather capris come in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) with an alpha layer also included in the gift package. These capris are one of two gifts at Faida’s stalls and let’s just say the other is really great if you roleplay. The Vintage Gacha Fair ends on the 19th so that means it’s only a couple of days more for you to scoop up gifts and play some great gacha machines.

Hunting for shoes

In lieu of pink sneakers, pretty and well made blue ones will do just fine. When I saw the ad for Madison keds by Wicked on my flickr feed, I knew I had to have them for my growing and growing and growing collection. It was pretty exciting to realize that these sneakers would be available for just 1L for the Into the Blue Hunt and you’ll get not one but two different pairs in the prize package. I’m wearing the jeans version in the picture above and while the shot doesn’t do the pair justice there are pretty scalloped flowers on the body of the sneakers. You don’t need mesh feet to slip into these sneakers as the prize comes along with an alpha layer and shoe base. The Madison keds themselves have a resize scrip in them for easy fitting and permissions are set to copy so you can make backups. The Into the Blue hunt is ending on the 29th of this month so get out your nets and hut out your blue butterflies by then and while you’re at Wicked slap their no group needed mini mania. They have lucky chairs too!

And that’s a wrap. The chores are done and all of the animals look like they’re going behave (for now) all that’s left is convincing Damon over here that Halloween is not for several months. Someone tell him that his puppy face is not enough for people to give him candy out of season; please? Oh and before I leave, here’s a closer look at the Madison keds to give you a better idea of the design on them and a look into the other pair that you’re in store for should you decide to hunt these out at Wicked.

Gacha to chase away the Monday Blues

The mix of being in an experimental mood and seeing all the great Vintage Gacha Fair posts from Astrid and Love and Carson had me wondering if it was possible to brew up a look using mostly under 75L gacha prizes. Since the fair is going to be running until the 19th of this month, I figured that there would be enough time to go and take a poke around. If things didn’t go according to plan at least I would have had some amusement on a (yucky) Monday. As it turns out, though, my experiment yielded up some pretty positive results. Here are the details;

Casual historical dressing

I’ve been in some pretty fancy dresses this week and it was rather refreshing to step into a more casual (in comparison) period piece. Cut in the regency style, the Lizzy dress has pretty puffed sleeves, a flattering neckline, and an empire waist to enhance your silhouette. I personally liked the detailing on the hem of the skirt and it was nice to step out in a pretty gown without the frills of swishing silk skirts and lace. Lizzy is available at the Faida booth at the Vintage Gacha Fair for 50L per pull and you can choose from five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) before paying the gacha machine. The corresponding alpha layer for the Lizzy outfit is available for free at the booth so don’t forget to grab that too if you do try your luck at the machine. Commons range from a trio of pretty pastel shades; blue, lavender, and cream (shown) while I do believe that rares are black, white, and red.  Just a side note, however, there was no demo (that I could spot) at the booth and I had to do a bit of guesswork and go by the standard size that I always wore.

Little lamb

One thing on my SL New Year’s resolution list was to stop buying little animals and big ones too. This was promptly broken as soon as I walked by the Jinx booth and spotted their MacSheepy gacha. They’re so adorable aren’t they? Will you look at those big eyes…awww. -ahem- Before I descend into baby talk, these cute little sheep are available for 65L per pull. I’m showing the holdy version of Giro in the picture above but there are twelve commons (six huggies and six holdies ) to be won as well as three rares and one ultra rare companion MacRamstein. All version of the MacSheepy blink their pretty big eyes and companion MacSheepy will walk around with your avatar. Jinx has another booth at the Vintage Gacha Fair as well with adorable baby goats.

Accessories

No trip to the Vintage Gacha fair is complete without snagging those awesome free gifts that merchants have out at their booths from clothing to home and garden items to accessories, I found something in the many, many gift boxes to compliment today’s outfit. The Escapade necklace in gold comes from the Fallen Gods Inc booth and is a simple yet pretty trinket to flatter any outfit historical or modern. While the necklace doesn’t come with a resize script, you’ll still be able to stretch, rotate and move it around using the edit option. Permissions are also set to copy/mod so be sure to make backups. If you poke around the other booths belonging to Fallen Gods Inc you’ll find the silver version of the Escapade necklace as another free prize.

The Vintage Gacha Fair is running until the 19th of this month so hop on over to get your free gifts and see what kind of cool stuff you’ll be able to play for.

Evenings at the farm (closer)

Other gacha

Looks like the gacha bug has bitten me rather viciously as I can’t seem to stop play them even after I’ve left the fair. I picked up the Galadriel hairstyle from Fabia Hair’s instore gacha for 50L per pull (shown here in pack number 3). This flowing and romantic hairstyle is very reminiscent of the elf that shares its name. I especially like how wavey the mesh looks and was pretty pleased to discover that you’ll also be receiving the tiara accessory as well to go along with your new hair. Here’s a rundown of what’s in the prize package:

  • Two versions of the Galadriel hairstyle; one for larger chests
  • Four versions of the tiara with rigged and resize versions and shine/no shine versions
  • Color hud with six different shades to choose from for common sets (rare sets have three times that)
  • RGB hud to change up the accessory colors

A very happy birthday

If you’ve seen Pru’s Post you’d have seen that it’s 7 Deadly s{K}ins’s fourth birthday today and the store is celebrating with not only a free join exercise but a birthday market placed at the front of their store and extra mini-manias. At the market, you’ll find 4L skin boxes for both male and female and before you think they’re only for classic skins there are boxes of face appliers for the different mesh heads thrown into the mix as well. Also available are 1L gacha and an example of this is the Daisey skin shown above. Though she only comes in one tone (taupe) there are different versions of the makeups (version 5 shown) to be won from this gacha and with such a sweet face I couldn’t resist playing over and over. Common prizes come with only classic skin while rare prize packages include body appliers. It’s highly recommended that you take advantage of this free join exercise as there’s a 400L gift card up for grabs for group members and stay in the group as members get access to regular gifts as well as the midnight mania, mini mania’s and lucky chairs. The free group exercise and birthday market are open for a very limited time so don’t delay!

And that’s a wrap. I gotta get the new sheep and goat settled in with all the other animals. My place is turning into a zoo… -rubs temples- Have fun out there guys and good luck on the gachas!

What a ride

What a ride

Time flies doesn’t it?

I was looking through the posts I’ve made here at FabFree and to my surprise realized that I’ve just passed the fifty posts mark. It still kinda feels like yesterday when I was scrambling through the new blogger application and trying not to ‘derp out’ as I filled in the notecard. In some ways, being able to write for a blog that I’ve long admired still feels more than a little surreal but to commemorate this milestone I’ve decided to recreate the styling that I did for my very first post at FabFree (if anyone’s curious it’s here). While the outfit that’s shown here today certainly isn’t a carbon copy by any means I felt that it still had that ‘cute with an edge’ vibe going for it. Here are the details;

High waisted

If you’ve been following Kat’s or Carson’s posts, you’d have notice that there are a ton of fun hunts going on for March. Seeing that it’s been a while since I’ve been on the trail, I decided to grab my trusty magnifying glass and do a little bit of sleuthing for myself. The Paws, Tails, and Whiskers Hunt 2 looked very promising and I ended up at (P3) Pixel Purrfect Productions to see if I could suss out where their prize was hidden. Turns out that luck was on my side and for just 1L the Tish Skirt became a great new addition to my inventory as I don’t own many skirts in this high waisted style. The skirt is very adorable with its anime print, sweet seafoam shades, and silky material mingling very well together. If you’re like me and appreciate the little details, you’ll also love the well-made buttons and bows on the skirt front. The Tish Skirt comes in the following sizes:

  • Standard Mesh (XXS-L) with alpha layer
  • Slink Physique and Hourglass
  • Maitreya

While you’re at (P3) Pixel Purrfect Productions, be sure to poke around some more as they have no group needed lucky chairs upstairs that cycle through the letters rather quickly. The Paws, Tails, and Whiskers Hunt 2 is running until the 31st of March so if you’re looking for cute animal-themed clothing, accessories or decor be sure to hit the hunt trail before then.

Lucky Letters

Now that I had a cute new skirt I was suddenly hit with the problem of what to pair it up with. Would it be a button down or a more casual t-shirt? Should I go with bright colors or a muted one so as to not overwhelm the entire outfit? What I did know was that the top had to be short or something that came in a clothing layer so that the meshes won’t end up cutting into each other (SL styling problems amirite?) and with that thought in mind I remembered that I had recently won the Teeny Sheer Halter Tops from one of the Lucky Letter boards at Sn@tch. These comfy halter tops were just perfect as they came in classic clothing layers (shirt and tank top) and since this is Sn@tch applier huds for Slink Physique and the Omega system were generously thrown into the as well. Not only that but you’ll also be getting ten different colors in the free prize package and needless to say I found a very fitting one to go with the skirt. Just a little note, however, the tops certainly live up to their name and are a little sheer so get that tape ready if you’re so inclined.

Inked up again

Just like socks and fishnets, tattoos can cause a bit of a hiccup when I’m dressing too. Once again generous creators come to the rescue and today I’d like to highlight Reckless. Not only are their tattoos intricate and well detailed, their group gifts come in classic layers and appliers for mesh bodies. Take Vida for example, the gift package contains:

  • Classic tattoo layers (fresh and faded)
  • Jacket layer (fresh and faded)
  • Shirt layer (fresh and faded)
  • Tank top layer (fresh and faded)
  • TMP Applier Hud
  • 3-in-1 Applier Hud for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink mesh bodies

I am once again very pleased with the result of wearing a classic tattoo layer with the corresponding applier, it’s the best of both worlds really. Vida is one of the group gifts that’s currently out at the Reckless main store and while there is a 75L join fee in place, you’ll be able to get past group gifts as well.

What a ride (boots)

Booted feet

I just can’t keep away from boots for very long and certainly not when they’re steampunk themed like the Charming Boots from Monomania. If you’ve already guessed that the gears and the baroque detailing on the body of the boots are my favorite part then you’re right! The burnished gold accents on this boots certainly don’t hurt it either as does the fact that you don’t need mesh feet to be able to wear them. The Charming Boots have a resize script in them and in the gift folder, you’ll also receive and alpha layer and boots base to make fitting a painless experience.  These lovely boots are a free group gift for Teleport Hub which is currently holding a free join exercise until the 15th of this month.

And that’s a wrap! Before I hit the grid again, I’d like to thank the FabFree team and all of you wonderful readers out there for having me here on the blog. Time flies when you’re having fun and it’s been nothing but a blast! Here’s to fifty more posts eh? I’ll catch you guys later!

Took a wrong turn

Took a wrong turn

Lost again

Hmm…this club has got a pretty solid farmyard concept going on though those patrons over there are definitely taking the funky chicken way too seriously. Oh, who am I kidding? I should have just asked for directions to the latest social hotspot instead of teleporting about willy nilly. Talk about being all dressed up with nowhere to go. -sighs- Enough with feeling sorry for myself, even if it’s too late to make a splash at some glitzy club with my outfit, I can still talk to you Fab Readers about it so let’s get on with the details! I’ll work from the top down as we have a lot to get through!

More hair accessories

No hair addict worth her salt is going to let a sale slip her by and when I saw that Fabia Hair was having a weekend Spring Sale I quickly er…sprung into action. While I was at the store oohing and ahhing over the fabulous hairstyles I spotted a little sign for this cute hairband displayed along with their group gifts and upon closer inspection saw that it was a donation item set out for the Spoonful of Sugar event to benefit Doctors Without Borders. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding it to my accessory collection. It’s sweet red and white color scheme and well-made hearts simply screamed at me to get a copy for my own. When I unboxed it, I discovered that you’ll also get a lightbox version of the headband with blinking lights in the hearts. Awesome! The headbands cost only 10L so do consider picking them up if you choose to stop by Fabia Hair’s 50% of Spring Sale. The sale itself is running until the 12th.

Birthday round

The Liaison Collaborative is celebrating it’s Birthday Round this month with the majority of participating merchants putting out a free gift at their stalls. While I was there I picked up the Stickwitu (do you remember the Pussycat Doll’s song of the same name?) dress from the Entice booth. This sleek bustier dress is certainly a saucy little number, isn’t it? I do love the eye-catching black on red color scheme and those symmetrical lines draw the gaze to just the right places. More importantly, the gift folder contains the following sizes:

  • 5 Fitmesh sizes (XXS-L)
  • Slink Hourglass and Physique
  • Belleza Venus, Freya and Isis
  • Tonic Fine and Curvy
  • Maitreya
  • Ebody
  • TMP

There is also a nifty alpha layer included which certainly helps with the fitting. The Liaison Collaborative is running until the 30th of this month so hop on over to scoop up your free copy of the Stickwitu dress and more.

Fishnets

With all the talk about Sn@tch from Love {HERE}, {HERE}, {HERE}, {HERE} and Pru {HERE}, I decided to take some time to explore the new store build. Unfortunately, I haven’t really had to time to break out the fishing rod or to stalk the Lucky Letters but I did manage to snag this week’s Sn@tch and Grab. It’s always difficult for me to shop for socks, what with needing both appliers for the Slinks and classic clothing layers for the rest of my legs so I’m pretty thankful for stores like Sn@tch that pack everything in one folder. Their Fishnet Collection 2016 is on sale this week for 50L. Not only will you get a wide selection of fishnets (5 tops, 5 bottoms, gloves, stockings, and bodysuit) they’ll come in classic clothing layers as well as easy to use omega applier huds.  I’m wearing the fishnet tights in the picture above with the corresponding layer applied to the Slinks and was pretty happy with the results.

Took a wrong turn

Skin Sale

I’m sure all of us have one store that we visit routinely and for me, one of those is WoW Skins because of the Lucky Letter boards and Midnight Manias. Since they’ve joined the 30L Saturday and 35L Sunday events, however, I’ve been more than happy to stop by this skin store more often. Upon on sale is the Relitha skin (pictured above in the tan tone) All of WoW Skins products carry that signature glossy look and I really liked the eye makeup on Relitha, especially the wing tipped effect of the mascara. The Relitha skin package contains:

  • Two system skins in cleavage/no cleavage options
  • 1 Omega face and body applier
  • Brow shape

There are four other tones (Milk, Bronze, Darktan and Golden) up for sale as well going for 30L each.

Shoes

It’s been a while since I’ve snagged some free shoes for myself and was really happy to discover that Moda was offering the Cybele leather heels as a free gift for the Secondlife Frees and Offers group. These gorgeous heels are only for the Slink feet but you’ll get three different eye-popping animal prints (snake, zebra, leopard)  on the body of the shoe in your gift folder. If you’re not feeling up to walking on the wild side there is a classic all black version of the Cybele heels (shown) included in the prize package as well. The Secondlife Frees and Offers group is free to join, so if you have a slot open hit the group up and pick up your gift. While you’re there, try your luck on the no group needed lucky chairs or hit the midnight mania board there’s no group tag needed for that as well.

And that’s a wrap. Maybe I can still salvage this situation and get these chicks over here to help me coax the local goat into at least wearing a party hat instead of eating it. Till next time guys!

For Spring

For Spring

Getting totally side tracked

To be honest, I had a more casual outfit planned for today’s post. One gown a week is already a bit much but two in a row? I was lucky that my clumsiness didn’t kick in during this latest trek to send me rolling off my perch and into some poor picnickers lunch. As it was, I was crossing my fingers as I tried out various poses in the hopes of finding one that lived up to this dress. It’s called the Queen of Spring and hopefully, I’ve struck on something aptly…majestic?

Well! -coughs- Let’s get down to those all important details shall we? The Queen of Spring gown is out now at Blue Moon Enterprise as it’s very timely March group gift. It’s available for free to all group members but if you’re not currently one and have a group slot you want filling up, the group is free to join as well. There’s a lot to love about the Queen of Spring gown, with it’s plunging neckline and dramatic leaves and violets arrangement which act as the clasps to hold the cape together but it’s the little details that I really appreciated. Like how the cool shamrock shades are just a little darker around the waist to give it a look of a wrapped bodice or how the gown, armbands, and cape are subtly dusted with a layer of shimmer. Speaking of the cape, why did flexi go ‘out of style’ in SL again? I love how soft and flowing it looks when it moves around the gown.

The Queen of Spring gift folder contains:

  • Four Standard mesh sizes (XXS-M)
  • Flexi prim cloak
  • Violet shoulder piece (front and back respectively)
  • Mesh armbands
  • Separate alpha layers for the gown itself and the armbands.

I don’t RP much, if at all and I certainly won’t be able to pull off an elf/woodland fairy/princess/queen thing but if you RP or just look great in fantasy clothing, BlueMoon Enterprise and it’s finely made wares is certainly a store that you should keep an eye on.

And that’s a wrap. Next time around I’ll hopefully be in something more modern that is if I survive cleaning out the ol’ SL inventory. Catch ya later guys! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

The simple things

Field of flowers

A field of flowers

Or at least a hut that’s filled with some. The blacksmith who owns it and his wife were rather perplexed when I asked if I could take some snapshots in this half tumbled down shack on their property but the wildflowers were just too pretty to ignore; knowing my luck my next choice would probably have been somewhere that would have given me a bad case of poison ivy. Anyways, this modest backdrop proved to be perfect for the theme that I was going for; simplicity. With a game like SL, it’s often easy to get carried away with bright colors, outrageous prints, and giant pig hats but once in a while, you’ll find a dress that’s so quietly elegant that you’ll have to have it.

I’m talking about Azul’s February group gift. More often than not empire dresses will help you achieve a very flattering silhouette and that’s exactly the case when you slip on this lovely off shoulder number. I simply adore the cut of this dress but if you’re worried about it being too simple the bodice is decorated with subtle patterns to add that little bit of oomph (do people still say oomph?) to this understated look. Neither black nor white is going out of style anytime soon so this dress is a keeper. It comes in the following sizes:

  • 5 Fitmesh sizes (XXS-L)
  • 1 Fitmesh Slink size
  • 1 Fitmesh Maitreya size
  • 1 Fitmesh Belleza size

Included in the gift package is a nifty alpha layer as well as an added flexi skirt to give you dress some flowy movement. If you’re a little bit puzzled as to why I’m talking (writing?) about February’s group gift when we’re now well into March, well, Azul has a lot (and I do mean a lot) of their past group gifts out (judging by the names gifts come on the regular as well). They’re all gorgeously designed, well made and absolutely free as there’s no cost to joining the group.

Field of flowers

Shimmer and shine

At first, I had intended to present the dress without any accessories. It’s beautiful as is and able to stand on it’s own but then I stopped by the Marketplace and came across a store called Kosh and it’s wide selection of dollarbies. The Rapture necklace and earrings caught my eye as I felt that they had a cool steampunk look to them (they reminded me of gears and bolts welded together). When I put them on, though, I discovered that the green gem in their centers was rather reflective and had and faintly glowed. It was a really nice, detailed touch. There are no resize scripts for both pieces of jewelry but permissions are set to mod and copy so you’ll be able to make backups if stretching or moving of prims go awry. The Rapture necklace and earrings cost 1L respectively and do poke around the Kosh store as they have other interesting dollarbie accessories and clothing items.

And that’s a wrap. Mr. and Mrs. Blacksmith have asked if I wanted to stay for lunch and the food smells too good to decline their offer. Let’s just hope the owls remember their table manners. Catch you guys later!

A day to celebrate

A day to celebrate

Where did I put that megaphone..?

Oh! Found it! -Ahem- To celebrate International Women’s Day, WoW Skins is holding a free join exercise for its store group. That’s right, the usual 450L joining fee has been waived only for today (March 8th) making it the perfect opportunity for you to get your hands on some awesome and free skins. Not only are group members treated to regular group gifts but past gifts are available to them as well. On top of that members are treated to generous Midnight Mania boards and Lucky Letters that change out regularly as well! The Ayah skin pictured above is an example of one of the many prizes that you can win from the Midnight Mania and if her sweet doll-like features haven’t already tempted you to take advantage of the free group to tap the board the prize package contains:

  • Two system skins in the tone Milk with cleavage/no cleavage options respectively.
  • Eyebrow tattoo layer in black and red(shown).
  • Tattoo layer to hide system eyebrows.
  • Four eyeliner options (tattoo layers)
  • Alpha layer to hide system eyelashes
  • Brow shape

On top of having the free join exercise for their store group, WoW skins is also holding a 45% off sale at their main store! Drag your bloke to the sale if he’s feeling like a makeover or get him to join the free group as well because there are awesome skins available for the menfolk too. Then you can sit back and enjoy the eye candy while you unpack your boxes and boxes of gifts. Sounds like a perfect day yesno?

And that’s a wrap. Happy International Women’s Day everyone! Have fun and stay safe out there, I’ll catch you later.

Sticker fun

Sticker fun

All about those stickers

When I was a kid, stickers were ‘serious business.’ Every other kid I knew was collecting them (the puffy ones are the best, don’t let anyone tell you different) or trading them or just plain showing them off in their fancy sticker books (-ahem-). Fast forward years ahead and stickers are still part of my every day. They’re used as rewards now but sometimes they get caught on clothes or in my hair or maybe even on my face.  The new Fabulously Free in SL group gift by Pink Passion reminded me of such days and since I’m always one to collect unique and cute accessories, there was no way I’d let this free gift slip me by. Put away your makeup layers or your tattoos or scars, stickers are the way to go! I adore how cute and well detailed these cupcakes are (just look at the sprinkles on the yellow one!) but another thing to love is that these stickers are compatible across all avatar types as they are attachments and not appliers or classic layers. You’ll be able to edit the stickers to move them around on your face (not individually, however) and permissions are set to mod and copy so you can make as many backups as you like. This adorable gift from Pink Passion is free and of course getting your FabFree group tag comes at no cost as well. While you’re at the store and have an empty group slot, consider joining the free Pink Passion store group. There are group gifts, lucky letters and a midnight mania board to take advantage of for group members.

 Do you hear that echo?

It’s saying that the gorgeous Marina skin is available for free at the .Ecko. main store. She has such a mysterious look about her, though that dark eye makeup isn’t at all over the top thanks to beautifully neutral lip color. I really love freckles on skin in Second Life and Marina was a great addition to my fast growing collection. The Marina skin folder contains the following:

  • One system skin layer
  • Belleza mesh body applier
  • Loud Mouth applier

You’ll need the Teleport Hub group tag to snag Marina for yourself and luckily enough the group is currently having a free join exercise until the 15th of this month because it’s holding a giveaway for group members. Curious as to what this giveaway is? Join the group to find out but don’t forget to grab your free new skin on the way. While you’re at .Ecko. click on the sub-o to remain up to date on new releases and other goodies from the store. It won’t cost a group slot and there are gifts available to sub-o subscribers. Be sure to also grab .Ecko.’s FabFree group gift too okaaaayyy?

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to see if I can dig out my old sticker collection…catch you guys later!

Morning run

Morning run

Back to basics

I’ve been stuck on dresses and skirts lately and while there’s certainly nothing wrong with indulging your more feminine side, it’s time to do away with frills and fringes for something more sporty. Early morning jogs are perfect for chasing away the blues of being stranded on a deserted island and speaking of perfection the Neva outfit from Tentation was just the thing I needed for this outing. It’s always a good idea to stock up on basics for those days when you just want to slouch around at home or go for a run with your polar bear cub and the Neva outfit with it’s baggy off shoulder sweater and comfortable leggings afford just that. After spending days with pastels the cool gray and off-white color scheme of this outfit were a nice change and I did like the eye-catching asymmetrical pattern on the front of the sweater. The sizes for the Neva outfit are as follows;

Sweater:

  • 5 Fitmesh sizes (XS-XL)
  • 1 size for the Belleza mesh body
  • 1 size for the Maitreya mesh body
  • 1 size for the Slink mesh body

Leggings:

  • 5 Fitmesh sizes (XS-XL)
  • 1 size for the Belleza mesh body
  • 1 size for the Maitreya mesh body
  • 1 size for the Slink mesh body

There are also separate alpha layers for the sweater and leggings available in the folder should you decide to wear these articles of clothing as separates. Otherwise, there’s also another alpha layer included should you want to wear the entire outfit together for the day. The Neva outfit costs just 10L and can be found with other great low-cost outfits and gifts at the Tentation main store so take a while to poke around and who knows what might catch your fancy.

But let’s not forget about the pink

As in sneakers. If you’ve been following the developments on the Fabulously Free in SL group gift list, you’ll know that Ollie’s Follies have updated their gift to a darling pair of pink camo sneakers. Not only are these a great girly update to the classic camouflage pattern but are classic feet friendly as well. In the gift package, you’ll receive a great alpha layer for your feet and these sneakers come equipped with a resize script making refitting a breeze. Should you happen to kill the scripts before you’re happy with any changes, however, permissions are set to copy so you can simply rez out another pair and start over. The Flowerbed Camo sneakers come free with your FabFree group tag and as always there’s no cost to join the group. While you’re at the store don’t forget to hit that no group needed midnight mania board and keep your fingers crossed for that 100L gift card prize. For a closer look at those sneakers check out the group gift listing page {HERE}.

And that’s a wrap. I really have to go see if Commander hasn’t stuck his nose into one of these houses looking for breakfast. Till later guys!
