Going dotty

Going dotty

Help! The weather’s been so dotty lately.

I don’t know what’s going on but the weather’s been acting kinda strange recently. Not so strange that it’s raining literal cats and dogs (thankfully) but it seems as if it can’t make up its mind most of the time. Some days the sky is heavy with dark clouds while on others it’s surprisingly sunny for this time of year and on other days things can flip between the two at the drop of a dime. I just can’t figure it out but anyway, at least I’ve found an outfit versatile enough to keep up with all of this odd weather.

As they say, if you can’t beat them…

Join them! I’ve gone dotty as well with the Lily outfit from MOoH! (it’s so much fun typing out this store’s name). You can always count on classic prints to get you through the day and none are more classic, or classy when it comes down to it than black and white polka dots. Personally, I found that it paired off rather well with the prim cut of this collared dress. I like fantasy clothes as much as the next Second Life(r) but it’s always great to find something that I’d actually wear outside of this virtual world.

As you can see from the picture above there are two ways of wearing the Lily outfit. The dress itself is a sleeveless number (perfect for when the sun decides to show itself) and flatters your figure by being cinched at the waist by a white belt. The dress comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) and one fitmesh size so you can most certainly test it out on your mesh body should you own one. If it gets chillier (or if you just feel like rocking the cute librarian look) throw on the comfy, duel toned cardigan. I simply love the little bow that holds the two sides together, as it just adds to the girlish look of the whole outfit. The cardigan comes in five standard mesh sizes as well (XXS-L) and one fitmesh size. Both outfits have their own spiffy alpha layer and not only do they help with the fit, they also ensure that you can wear the cardigan with a separate outfit as well.

The Lily outfit is on sale at the MOoH! main store until the 26th of the month and is priced at 85L. That’s a little over the FabFree price cap but if you join the MOoH! group as I’ve already done (-crosses another thing off the bucket list-) you can take advantage of the free 150L gift card that’s available to members to get this dress for free. MOoH! has a one-time join fee of 100L but it’s a great investment in the long run as the gift cards are given out monthly. If you haven’t picked it up already, the new Fabulously Free in SL group gift at MOoH! has been changed out recently.

Heeled and tasseled

With Commander being a bit grumpy recently I’ve had to stay home to make sure he doesn’t get up to any mischief. Of course, that also means more time to poke about the SL Marketplace. I came across these pretty pair of strappy heels from Ferina’s Creations and immediately thought about wearing them with the Lily outfit. There’s nothing like wearing a bit of red with a monochrome outfit to make things pop. I simply adore the detail of the tassel on these heels though the best part about them is that you’ll only have to spend 1L to add them to your collection. Note however that these heels are made for Slink high feet only.

A little bit of bounce

It seems that I’ve been more inclined towards shorter hairstyles recently doesn’t it? It’s nice to switch things up for a change and it helps that there have been not a few great offers for shorter hairstyles. One such is the free gift that Analog Dog has out for the January round of Gacha Guardians. I’ve come to associate wild, fun curls with this brand and the Charlotte hair certainly did not disappoint. This bouncy hairstyle has a retro feel about it, acting as the perfect topper for the Lily outfit. In the gift package, you’ll receive a bald base, an alpha layer as well as an easy to use hud that lets you choose from twelve fantasy colors as well as control the ombre fades and tints of the hair. There are loads of other gifts out at the Gacha Guardians event and you’ll need to be part of the Gimme Gacha group to be able to scoop them up. Don’t worry though the group is free to join so all you need is a group slot and you’re good to go!

Another group gift

Speaking of free group gifts, there’s a new one currently out at Hello Dave. The pictures don’t do them any justice but the Spot Me manicure in nude that I’m wearing pairs up very nicely with the entire outfit as well. Personally, I find that Hello Dave puts out manicures with very interesting designs and it certainly doesn’t hurt that they change out their free group gifts on the regular too. The group is free to join as well so go ahead and treat yourself to a mani and pedi! Hello Dave nails work with Slink mesh hands and some mesh hands that are compatible with the Omega system. While you’re there at the store don’t forget to pick up the new Fabulously Free in SL group gift as well. Two of the sets have been blogged by Kat {HERE} and myself {HERE} and you can get a closer look {HERE}.

And that’s a wrap for today! The weather’s looking pretty dodgy again so I’m retreating back indoors. Oh, but before I leave, here’s a closer look at the Hello Dave group gift I was talking about.

A hunting we will go

A hunting we will go

A whole slew of new hunts!

The New Year has been kicked off with a number of fun hunts, making me excited to see how many more great ones there are to come. These last couple of days have been spent going down several hunt paths and luck seems to be on my side as I haven’t gotten lost or turned around or spent fifteen minutes in a store only to realize I’ve been looking for the wrong hunt prim all along. Anyway, I’ve put together some of those hunt prizes to come up with my look of the day and here’s the rundown;

Cute and Curvy Hunt 2

Having been stuck in sweaters and jumpers and coats (oh my!) for the better part of two months I was most certainly in the mood for something that showed just a bit more skin. The sultry Amal top from Blasphemic was perfect for my needs. Not only did I adore the unique design of the top, the deep blue and black color combination was very eye catching as well. The Amal top comes in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) as well as sizes for the Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Hourglass and Physique) and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is no alpha layer included in the prize package but I’m wearing the standard size S in the picture above and the top fit like a glove. There are so many sizes included in this gift so play around and hopefully, there will be one that’ll fit. This top is just too great to pass up on! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 costs 1L and the hunt is running until the 31st of this month. Just look for the pink lollipop!

Medieval Hunt

As I’m always in the market for new boots, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Evil Stumper boots when I opened up the hunt prize from Lady Dragon’s Designs. There’s really nothing evil in adding a new pair of shoes to your collection (amirite?) and I really appreciated the rugged cut of this pair. If you’re tired of flat stompers worry not as these boots are heeled and it also has pretty red detailing on its buckles because even when we’re stomping about evilly we can still look pretty while doing it. Full disclosure, however, the boots do not come with an alpha layer. To get a fit I had to play around with some of the other alpha layers that I owned (having a million boots comes in handy really) and ended up having to use the alpha layer provided with my Slink feet. If you do decide to get the Stumper boots for yourself the Medieval Hunt is a 1L hunt that runs until the end of this month. Keep a look out for a shield.

SLF Birthday Hunt

To celebrate four years in SL, Second Life – Free is hosting a 0-1L hunt that spans across the grid as well as the marketplace. Holding both simultaneously is an interesting concept if you ask me and it’s where I found another pair of pretty earrings (if this keeps up I’ve going to need another drawer for accessories). These beautiful ball earrings with its delicate lace flower patterns from Asutris were a great way to spice up the outfit. The pair come with an easy to use resize script so that you play around with the sizing and permissions are set to copy so you can make as many backups as you like. A clearer picture of these darling earrings are provided below but the SLF Birthday Hunt is running until the 11th of February with lots of great prizes to be had. Keep your eyes peeled for the SLF Birthday logo.

Non-hunt related

After an exhaustive time hunting, I decided to kick back a little with a nice spot of fishing at Sn@tch. Love’s blogged about the fantastic new fishing prize {HERE} and while I was trying to get my hands on it (those boots still elude me grrr) I took a peek at what’s in their riot vendors. Needless to say, they’re filled with goodies and the two faced jeans are just one of them. Who knew that such an unsavory aspect in people could translate quite fashionably to clothes. These jeans come in ten distinct patterns (floral shown) with the choice of pants and underwear layer for classic avatars as well as omega appliers for avatars using compatible mesh bodies. I got my copy for 69L if memory serves but if you’re planning on getting these bring…everyone and push those prices down. The riot vendors change out regularly and that only means more goodies.

A hunting we will go headshot

Getting lucky

Ahhh there we go, a close up picture of those fabulous earrings. While we’re on the subject of closeups, I found that skins from Deluxe Body Factory are just great for that. I love how realistic they look and those beauty marks only serve to make their faces more unique. Pictured is the Jasmine skin which I won off the Lucky Letter boards at Deluxe Body Factory. The prize package includes one classic skin in the tone chai as well as a brow shaper and an alpha layer to hide system eyelashes. Lucky Letters are free for group members but if you’re not currently one there is a one-time join fee of 299L. Personally, I find it worth the price as there are a lot of Lucky Letters at the store and Midnight Mania boards as well.

And that’s a wrap. Time to put my aching feet up unless Commander’s (the Polar Bear cub) gone and dug up the carpet again. Catch ya later guys!

Cute Curvy Classy

Cute Curvy Classy

Pastel Dream

Have you ever had rainbow ice cream before? More specifically Paddle Pop rainbow ice cream? It was my favorite growing up (the only flavor of ice cream I’d consume actually) and one look at this pretty pastel offering from Glasgow Grin had me nostalgic for those days all over again. Personally, I’ve always found pastel shades to have a rather dreamy quality about them and when they’ve been mixed together so artfully I find them quite irresistible. Such was the case for the Cutey Dress that’s out right now at Glasgow Grin for the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2. This comfy sweater dress comes in sizes for ebody, Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Slink (Physique, Hourglass) and Maitreya mesh bodies as well as one standard mesh size for those of us classic avatars. I’m wearing the standard mesh size in the picture above and was pretty pleased with the alpha layer that’s provided as it helped with the fit quite nicely. Cute, curvy, classy indeed! All prizes in the Cute and Curvy Hunt 2 are for 1L and the hunt runs till the 31st of January.

Accessorize

Did you guys make New Year resolutions? It’s a little dorky I know but I made a couple for Second Life as well and one of which is to try to pay more attention to the little details when putting together outfits. The other is to clean out the inventory but we’ll see how well that goes. Anyway, I’m on Oxide’s mailing list and discovered that they’ve put out a great pair of hooped earrings for their sub-o members. You can never go wrong with this classic design (especially when wearing a shorter hairstyle) and this well-made pair from Oxide come with a color change hud as well. If you’re not in the mood to stick to gold there are nine other colors to choose from as well. Some other perks of being in Oxide’s sub-o group is that you’ll have access to past sub-o gifts as well (that you can snap up for free) and of course it doesn’t take up those precious group slots so it’s certainly worth checking out.

All nice and manicured

If you’ve been following the blog closely, you’d have seen that some Fabulously Free in SL group gifts is being changed out. It’s really exciting to see what our generous designers have in store for us next! Needless to say, I snapped up the new manicure and pedicure sets from Hello Dave in a jiffy and am wearing the Fairy French set in the picture above. I love the clean, glossy colors and truth be told its stores like Hello Dave that make getting Slink hands really worth it. Hello Dave nails are compatible with Slink hands and hands using the Omega system. To add this set to your inventory for free, simply wear your Fabulously Free in SL group tag or if you’re not in the group yet copy and paste the following link into local chat in your SL viewer, hit enter and click on the link, secondlife:///app/group/020fa7af-444d-f54f-01e2-557ec06315fd/about . As always the group is free to join! If you’re still not convinced, click {HERE} for a clearer picture on these gorgeous nail sets.

New face for a new year

Last but not least I stopped by 7 Deadly s{K}ins to pick up their January group gift. Carson blogged about the men’s gift {HERE} and I’m happy to report that the gift for ladies is packed full of goodies as well. In the gift package you’ll get:

  • Classic skins in seven tones (caramel, cotton, oak, pineapple, sand, taupe, and walnut)
  • Omega body appliers in the tones listed above
  • Omega head appliers in the tones listed above
  • Slink appliers
  • Tango and Phatazz appliers
  • 2 shapes

7 Deadly s{K}ins has a group join fee of 225L but as you can see it’s well worth the lindens. Not only are their gifts generous, but the faces on their skins are always so gorgeous.

That’s a wrap! I’ve still got a hankering for some rainbow ice cream but luckily it’s not too late to skip on over to the corner store. Catch you on the flip side guys!

Walking on Sunshine

Walking on sunshine

Just a little bit out of practice.

Gotta admit, this holiday season has left me a little rusty when it comes to rooting out those bargains. For a while I had contemplated on training my new polar bear cub (he still needs a name) in the fine art of sniffing out great deals a la Ripley but after fifteen minutes of watching him attempt to dig out the carpet, the thought of turning him loose in a store became a Very Bad Idea. Thankfully, I soon remembered a safer alternative and was soon turning to the Second Life Marketplace. Personally, I’ve always found the Marketplace easy to navigate (no lag or misbehaving polar bears a bonus!) ending this most recent jaunt with a cart loaded with goodies.

Stepping into the sunshine.

One of the things picked up was this free sweater dress from Tuty’s. I guess I was in the mood for something simple as I immediately fell in love with the sleek cut of this dress. With the weather being so odd lately, I didn’t want to chance catching a flu and so appreciated this snug long-sleeved dress and it’s comfortable jersey material even more. The sweater dress comes with a boat load of sizes including the five standard mesh sizes (XS-XL) as well as alternate sizes for avvies with smaller chests or curvier bodies. If you’re still worried about the sizing there’s also a nifty alpha layer provided to stop bits from poking through. To sweeten the pot, the sweater dress also comes with a hud that allows you to switch between fourteen different colors. I spent way too long trying to decide on which color to showcase but settled on orange because it’s been too drab and dreary on my little plot of Second Life recently. Snow is all well and good but I think I’m well and truly ready for Spring and the sunshine.

Unusual headgear.

I’ve been in a bit of a headgear kick recently. Beanies and caps mostly as sunhats will have to wait (grrr) but in the virtual world, I would be remiss not to stretch this theme out to the more unusual. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen horns sold on the marketplace but when I saw these on offer at Ninety I snapped them up right away. For just 1L, you’ll not only get a great set of horns but also a hud that controls the colors of each flower on the ring of flowers at the base of each horn. There are eight colors to choose from so go crazy experimenting with all the different combinations that are possible. The flowers really remind me of Spring and I just can’t wait for the season to get here already! The hud provided also lets you control the color metals on the horns (choice of gold or silver) and there is also an easy to use resize script so that you can customize your horns to your heart’s content. And that’s a wrap for my Marketplace shopping adventures. The January work rush has certainly left me floored as it’s been busier than I’ve previously anticipated (-shakes a stick at RL-) but hopefully, I’ll be able to recover some of my freebie game soon. Catch you on the flip side guys!

We match!

We match!

Hey there!

Before I begin, I’d just like to wish everyone a very happy New Year and that I hope you had a great one! As for myself, I’m pretty excited to continue my adventures in Second Life; who knows what kind of fun and freebies 2017 will bring! Even with the festivities behind us, I was still in the mood for bright colors and knitwear and was very pleased to see that the Fabulously Free in SL group gift by Marquesse Pret a Porter was a great mix of both. The Paige shirt was certainly a welcomed addition to my virtual wardrobe and not only for its vivid color (which is perfect for when you’re in the mood for color blocking by the way) but also for its fun and flirty design. Best of all, you can have this off shoulder little number for free by joining the Fabulously Free in SL group (no join fee required). Simply cut and paste the following link into the main chat box in your SL viewer, hit enter and click on the link when it pops up in main chat. Aforementioned link is; secondlife:///app/group/020fa7af-444d-f54f-01e2-557ec06315fd/about and if you’ve just joined us, welcome to the group!

Coming to a close

With the Winter Cart sale at the Wash coming to an end today, this is the last chance for you to pick up some goodies for yourself and your friend for just 10 L. I’ve recently purchased a new pair of Slink hands (finally something to cross off that bucket list) and thought that it was about time that I got a manicure. Pictured is the Diti Gold Omni set from La Boheme and the package includes a manicure set for Maitreya as well as a manicure and pedicure set for Slink and Omega.

I also stopped by the Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes cart at the Wash to pick up to pick up this gorgeous pair of boots. I own a similar pair in the real world and am always tickled when I get to dress the avatar in a similar fashion. You don’t need prim feet for this pair and the package includes a nifty alpha mask and shoe base to help with the fit.

My little friend

I stumbled upon this cute little guy on the Marketplace and thought to include him in the picture because our outfits matched (lol). For just 0L you can get a Baby Polar Bear for yourself too at the Meli Imako Marketplace store. The bear itself comes in both standing and sitting positions (shown) as well as AO, UV, Normals, Specular maps and textures. Full disclosure, as I haven’t gotten into building in SL yet, I’ve no idea what all of those are but the polar bear is cute and I’ve always had a thing for keeping odd animals around the house…

Speaking of, with two cats, several owls and now this little guy, I’m going to have to find a place that sells kibble for them all. Until next time guys!

Plum for Christmas

Plum for Christmas

Going back to knitwear.

So far I’ve been having so much fun rooting around the grid to find interesting pieces of knitwear. There are so many different designs but then again I shouldn’t be surprised as creativity in Second Life runs rampant. Today I’m going to be showing you the Ruffled Knit Bodysuit in plum that you can win from the mischievous Kraken at Graffitiwear. You’ll need to wear your group tag in order to wrestle and/or cajole prizes from Mr. Kraken and if you’re not already a member there is a group join fee of 5L. Prizes from the Kraken changes out weekly however and the group tag gives you access to Lucky and Midnight Mania boards that are changed out just as often. You’ll also be receiving monthly group gifts, Graffitiwear’s December group gift was blogged {HERE} by Astrid if you’d like to take a gander at what it is, so with all these goodies it’s definitely worth the 5L to join. Once you’ve gained the upper hand from that Kraken you’ll find that the Ruffled Knit Bodysuit caters to both classic avatars and those with mesh bodies.

Layers for classic bodies include:

  • Bodysuit top: Shirt and Jacket layer
  • Bodysuit bottom: Pants and Underwear layer
  • Sleeve lengthening: Glove layer (not worn in picture)

The appliers provided in the prize package are:

  • Master applier hud containing appliers for Slink, Wowmeh and mesh bodies using the Omega system.
  • Gloves applier hud containing appliers for Slink, Wowmeh and mesh bodies using the Omega system. (not worn in picture)
  • TMP Hud

I really adore the deep plum color of this body suit but that’s second only to the ruffles that give it its name. They give the whole bodysuit a feminine and unique quality and I almost feel like a fairy while wearing it. The best part about the prim ruffles is that permission to copy and modify them are enabled so you can experiment with their position and size on your avatar’s body easily and also make copies in case there’s a mess. All in all I’m really happy with this find so hurry down to Graffitiwear before Mr.Kraken eats up this gift for good.

Speaking of faeries.

If you’ve read Kat’s post {HERE}, you’ll notice the lovely antlered hair that she has on. That head turning hairstyle is eXxEsS hair store’s past Christmas group gift and I’m happy to report that eXxEsS has continued this tradition and is offering a free hairstyle for this season as well with this whimsical baubled hairdo. I adore the Christmas ornaments decorating this sweeping hairstyle and was happy to see that there is a Hud available to customize the ornaments to suit your mood and outfit. Speaking of customization there are two sets of hair available in the gift package and they come with their own extensive color Hud as well as options to enable breeze and materials or both together. I tried on the breeze option and it looked as if the wispy bangs were moving in the wind and that only means more photo opportunities! To add this beautiful hairstyle to your collection simply head down to eXxEsS‘ main store and buy it for 0L.

Two words for you, Cart. Sale.

If you’ve noticed Love’s post {HERE} you’d know that The Wash Winter Cart Sale has begun! I missed the Summer sale at The Wash and am very, very excited to check out the 10L deals for this current sale. I appreciate that some items are transferable so that you can purchase some great but inexpensive gifts for your friends! On one of my very first rounds around the sim, I found the Belenda boots by Sage and the first thing that caught my eye was that it was both compatible with mesh as well as classic feet. The second thing that caught my eye was the fact that there were twelve (pink worn in the picture) different color options available on top of an easy to use Hud that lets you customize the studs at the boot’s heel. Needless to say, I fell in love with these boots right away and am very happy with not only the leather texture and vivid colors but the price as well. Great quality for 10L? Count me in!

I’ll leave you with ad for these boots so that you can get a look-see at all the colors you’ll be getting with your purchase.

It’s an 8bit Christmas

8 Bit Christmas

Hunting time again.

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s the weekend once again and that means it’s time to dig into more hunts. I’ve been trying out a few this past week and aside from getting mixed up and turned around (happened quite a bit, unfortunately) my loot bag has been stuffed to the brim with goodies. One such example is the beautifully quirky 8bit Christmas dress that’s out from Eclectic Stars for the Meet Me Under the Mistletoe hunt. If you’ve read Pru’s post {HERE} Eclectic Stars carries a wide range of unique and nerdy clothing and furniture pieces and the 8bit Christmas dress is no exception. True to its name the dress features cute pixel Santas, reindeers, Christmas trees and candy canes and gave me quite the nostalgic kick for the old video games I used to play (Pac-Man!) Coupled with the vivid Christmas-y color scheme of greens and reds you’ll surely have a great dress for this season. The 8bit Christmas dress comes in 5 Fitmesh sizes (XS-XL) with an alpha layer to help with the fit as well as sizing for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink Physique mesh bodies. Prizes in the Meet Me Under the Mistletoe hunt costs 1L but if you’d rather not poke around the store you can buy the prize for 25L from the mistletoe prize prim. Personally, I’d take some time to peruse the items in Eclectic Stars as they do have a free no group needed advent calendar up, not to mention a Midnight Mania board and their free FabFree group gift! Curious to see what that is? Take a peek at Julianna’s post {HERE}

Tis the season…

To join groups for free! Moon hair store has set their group join fee to 0L and they have a wide range of group gifts out for you to pounce on. I’ve been watching this store for a while because of their elegantly casually hairstyles and beautiful hair colors and was pretty pleased to have discovered this free join period. Pictured is the Mias La II which is but one of many group gifts available. While I was partial to the dusty light purple version of this hairstyle there are nine other out of the ordinary colors to choose from an easy to use Hud that’s included in the gift package. Once you’re in the group, you can take advantage of group only Lucky Letter boards and Midnight Mania board. I’m not sure when Moon’s free group join exercise will end so join up soon.

This glittery Christmas

The holiday season is a good excuse for glitter and since I love shiny things and shoes from Baby Monkey I zoomed right over to the store when I saw that they’ve generously set out a gift for the Fabulously Free in SL group. As you well know the Fabulously Free in SL group is free to join and if you’re not a member yet you can copy and paste the following link into the main chat of your SL viewer and click on the link when it pops up on local. The link is: secondlife:///app/group/020fa7af-444d-f54f-01e2-557ec06315fd/about . Welcome to the group, please grab your free shoes. Classic pumps are a staple in any shoe collection and these come in six (you read that right) beautiful glittery colors. Just click on the hud provided in the gift package and have fun matching your shoes to your outfit. The Glitter Pumps come in sizes for Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink High feet. When you’re done grabbing your free group gift, check out the no group needed lucky letter chairs (two for guys as well) and the advent tree that’s set out at the Baby Monkey Mainstore!

8 Bit Christmas headshotThe search is still on!

In my last post {HERE} I said that two of my favorite skin stores are participating in the Women Only Hunt 2. If you guessed that the other store is 7 Deadly s{K}ins then you’re right and they’re offering the Amina skin shown above. You can get sweet-faced Amina for 0L by hunting out the snowflake at the 7 Deadly s{K}ins main store and once you’ve found it be ready to be in for a treat. The prize package contains the Amina classic skin in six skin tones (caramel shown) with cleavage/no cleavage options. Four skin tones (caramel, fudge, sand and taupe) have cluster packages that include appliers for Banned, Wowmeh, Tango, Phatazz and Slink Hands and Feet whereas appliers for Tango, Pthatazz and Slink Hands and Feet are provided for the skin tone Powder. It’s a very generous and top quality gift but I’ve found that it’s par for course for 7 Deadly s{K}ins. If you’re not a group member, do think about joining up as the store is holding a group only advent and the join fee for the group is free.

I also mentioned…

That Mesange was participating in the Women Only Hunt 2 and that their gift was a trio of beautiful Ice Dream Eyes. I’ve been wearing the blue pair the entire week and decided to switch up to the green pair for this picture. The colors are very stunning and I love the snowy glaze on these green peepers just as much as I love them on the blue. If you haven’t picked up this lovely prize, it’s available for free when you find the snowflake at the Mesange main store. Prize package includes system layer eyes, mesh eyes and Genesis and Omega System huds.

If you’ve missed the coverage for the Women Only Hunt 2, here’s a rundown:

Gotta get back to those hunts now. Have fun on your weekend dear readers!

A Mantra for the Weekend

Netflix Nutella and Naps

Those lovely long gone weekends.

Sometimes I can’t believe how fast those weekends zip by. It almost always seems that I blink and somehow teleported myself into another Monday. Hmm…I hope that isn’t some sort of hidden superpower manifesting itself but thankfully though I managed to make last weekend fruitful but getting into some hunts I’ve been meaning to do. Ever since I saw Pru’s post {HERE} about a pair of lovely and free boots from Perch, completing the Women Only Hunt 2 quickly made it’s way up to the top of my bucket list. This free hunt runs until the 24th of this month and there is a nifty hunt hud that you can pick up at the organizer’s main office which makes teleporting from store to store and getting hunt hints a breeze. Since I’m behind (what else is new yeah?) and am going to try my hand at doing a few hunts at once this really came in handy!

Back to knitwear.

In these chilly months, I’ve really come to miss my T-Shirts with their quirky quotes so opening up the hunt prize from American Bazaar and finding this oversized knit sweater was really a pleasant surprise. Not only is this comfy find well made and textured, I was also tickled by the caption on the front. Netflix Nutella and Naps…it’s good to have plans for next weekend don’t you think? This oversized sweater comes in five standard mesh sizing (XS-XL) with a good alpha layer to keep things nice and fitted. Just hunt out the snowflake at American Bazaar and this cozy addition to your wardrobe can be yours for free.

The thing about leggings…

Is that I can’t seem to get enough of them this season, especially the ones with the pretty prints and eye-catching colors. It’s a good thing then that the Women Only Hunt prize at Boutique #187 yielded up the Xmas knit beige leggings. Not only will these keep me warm while out on a jaunt on a snowy sim, the festive prints, and vivid colors certainly put me in a jolly mood. The Xmas leggings come in a system pants layer for those with a classic body and also a great hud that incorporates appliers for Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink mesh bodies as well as mesh bodies compatible with the Omega system. It’s a great space saver where inventory is concerned so hunt out that snowflake and get your leggings for free.

Who does your hair again?

In this post {HERE} I mentioned two new group gifts from the Truth VIP group and pictured is the second style. While I don’t own a great many short hairstyles, I fell in love with the Irenka hairdo straightaway thanks to it’s casual, wavy style. That tousled look is perfectly paired up with the beanie and not only will you get a hud to play around with beanie customization you’ll also get the option for added bangs. As with the Irena hairstyle, the Irenka hairdo comes in a fatpack of colors too. The Truth VIP group has a one time fee of 350L but we’ve gotten 3 hairstyles so far so it’s a great deal.

Back to the hunt!

Two of my favorite skin stores are participating in the Women Only Hunt 2 and one of those is WoW Skins. While hunting I noticed that they had their December group gift out and I immediately picked it up as well. I’ve always adored the glossiness of the skins from this merchant and December’s group gift, Janette, didn’t disappoint. The subtle blush on the skin is so very pretty and really brings to mind how flushed skin looks when you’ve been out in the chill. December’s group gift consists of the Janette classic skin in Tan with cleavage/no cleavage options as well as Catwa and Omega appliers.  The Janette group gift is free to current members and it’s 450L to join. If you do decide to make the investment, past gifts will also be available to you as well as Lucky Letter and Midnight Mania boards.

Frosted sight.

As soon as I saw that Mesange was participating in the Women Only Hunt 2 I thought, well there goes my decision to stick to one eye color. I’ve really enjoyed wearing the expressive eyes from this merchant and their Women Only Hunt 2 prize is no different. The aptly named Ice Dream Eyes fits in perfectly for this snowy season and if you’re into role playing as supernatural creatures these frosty pair of eyes are something that you could wear all year round. The best thing about this hunt prize, aside from being free of course, is the fact that you’ll get not one but three different dreamy eye colors. Pictured are the blue pair but there are green and gray as well. In the prize package, you’ll receive for all three colors, system eyes, mesh eyes and a hud for the Genesis mesh head as well as the Omega hud for mesh heads compatible with that system.

And that’s a wrap. Happy Hunting dear readers! For more coverage of the Women Only Hunt 2 check out the following posts:

Festive Greens and Reds

Festive greens and reds

All of this running around.

Hey there fabulous readers, how are your advent runs coming along? I must admit that I’ve lagged behind these past couples of days thanks to all festive busyness in RL but thankfully there’s the FabFree Advent Listing to lean on and get me right back on track again. It’s also really awesome that some advents allow for past prizes to be delivered or purchased and one such store that’s doing this is Entice. I came to know about this merchant thanks to Kathryn but finally got myself around to visiting when I saw that they were doing an advent calendar. The prizes are free to group members and the Entice group is free to join but if you’re short on group slots (like me) you’ll be able to purchase the advent gifts for 25L each. Past prizes are available for 25L so drop by to the store and, er, Entice yourself so to speak by trying on the demos for the advent gifts provided so that you can pick out and purchase your favorites.

Demos lead to good things.

Trying on demos is what lead me to the stunning emerald number pictured. I’m still using a mostly ‘classic avatar’ and it can get a bit daunting when I don’t see the words ‘standard mesh sizing’ on the vendor ads but with the help of those demos under the Entice advent tree, the deal was sealed. Not only is the color for the Make Me Dress (advent gift day 6) vibrant and eye catching, its design is unique as well. The top and skirt part of the dress are linked together with circular chains, making this a fun and flirty outfit that’s perfect for all those Christmas parties. The Make Me dress comes in sizes for Slink Physique and Hourglass, Maitreya and Belleza Freya, Isis and Venus.  Personally, the Venus fit was perfect so throw on a demo and an alpha layer that’s lying around in your inventory and experiment!

Scientia potentia est

Have you ever been to the Fabulously Free in SL flickr feed? It’s a great way to learn about new free gifts and that was how I caught wind that N-Core was giving out two free pairs of shoes! Pictured above are the Kate Christmas heels which are very fitting for the season with its vivid red and white color scheme. The gift folder includes sizes for N-Core High feet, Belleza High feet, Maitreya High Feet, TMP High feet and Slink High feet. N-Core is very much a new to me shoe store but I’m really loving this well-made pair of classic heels. If you have a group spot open, N-Core has also put out a gorgeous pair of boots as their group gift which you can read all about in Love’s post {HERE}. Find your gifts under the Christmas tree!

Who does your hair?

The gifts for the Truth VIP group have been very generous and the trend continues into December with not one but two gifts. Pictured is the Irena hair, a long and wavey style that is simply elegant. You can choose to make things more casual with a beanie (color hud provided) or add bangs. The Irena hair also comes with a seperate fit so that it won’t cut into your front. As always with Truth VIP group gifts, this hairstyle comes in a fatpack of colors.  The join fee for the Truth VIP group stands at 350L, a good deal since you’ll be getting two hair fatpacks.

Festive Greens and Reds

Have you joined up yet?

In this post {HERE}, I mentioned that 7 Deadly s{K}ins was going to make it’s group free to join on the 28th of November. Well, that date has come and gone so if you haven’t taken the opportunity to join up now is your chance to do so. There is an advent going on at the store for both females and males that are open to group members. You’ll need to pay the 1L for the day’s gift but it will be immediately refunded back to you so that means you’ll get a different skin a day for free this month if you join up! Pictured is the Day 6 prize Feeb’s Fabienne which ones in one tone and cleavage/no cleavage options. There are also appliers for Tango, Phatazz and Slink (full body) included in the gift package. If you’ve missed some of the advent gifts, those past prezzies are still available for 50L (pay vendor 99L and have 49L refunded immediately) 7 Deadly s{K}ins  have always been consistent with the quality of their skins and the generosity of their gifts so join up now as free group will only last till the first of January.

Casual Decorating

Casual Decorating Furniture final

Guess who’s back. Back again.

Hey, wonderful readers! I’ve been gone for a while thanks to being busy and sick in real life (yuck). Now that I’m feeling better, though, I can’t wait to show you some of the fabulous deals I’ve dug up. There are a lot of events this December (advents and hunts and gacha fairs oh my!) but I’d like to take a moment to highlight two FabFree Group Gifts today. As always the listing can be found {HERE} and to join this free group simply copy and paste the following link into local chat in your Second Life viewer, secondlife:///app/group/020fa7af-444d-f54f-01e2-557ec06315fd/about  and click the link when it appears in local chat.

If you’re wondering, yes that is my fireplace.

We’ve been spoiled for choice when it comes to clothing items but did you know that there are some top notch furniture designers offering quality gifts for FabFree group members too? It’s most certainly a boon for those, like me, who love to play around with the look of their apartment and these gifts above have certainly added a bit more festive cheer to my Second Life. First up is the newest FabFree group gift from Lil Tease Creations.  I’ve always loved decorations that come with a little bit of a twist and since I can’t seem to let go of Halloween just yet these Christmas Stockings from Lil Tease Creations with its spoopy (thanks for teaching me this word Love!) and cute designs on the front were simply perfect for my fireplace. In the pack, you’ll get seven (spider design not shown) mesh socks that are one land impact each. The permissions are set to copy so you can duplicate as many as you want of these darling little socks for your residence. After you’ve grabbed your gift, take a look around Lil Tease Creations, I slapped two, no group needed, Midnight Mania boards while I was there.

Next up is the Sugar Candy Wreath by [CIRCA] Living. I’ve been eyeing this gift for a while but since my apartment has no doors there was really nowhere to put it when Halloween rolled around. It was just lucky then that the wreath with its adorable cartoon designs went beautifully with the Christmas Stockings. I enjoy the seasonal orange of the wreath too as it was a good call back to, my favorite season, Autumn. The Sugar Candy Wreath stands at five land impact and permissions are set to copy as well so you can duplicate as many of these beautiful wreaths as you want! Both of these gifts are free so wear your FabFree tag proudly, snap up these gifts and get to decorating!

If that decorating bug has bit you hard…

Here are some more blog posts on other furniture items that are available for free with your FabFree group tag:

Casual Decorating Final

What to wear while decorating.

Seeing as I’ve been in a bit of a knitwear kick recently, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I’m bringing the Gaa Dress by !cream Spaghetti Hair (gosh what an awesome store name) to your attention today. Not only does this quaint little store have no group required Lucky Boards for you to stalk, it also has a wide range of cheapies in store for visitors. This pretty, sleeveless number costs only 5L and is a steal as you will be getting the dress in not one but two (blue and pink) different colors. What’s more, both versions of the dress is available in one standard mesh size as well as sizes for Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique, and Maitreya. There is also a good alpha layer included in the package so if you’re still using the standard mesh size that will certainly help with the fitting.

For this picture I’ve paired the Gaa Dress with another great deal from !cream Spaghetti Hair, which is the Love Pink Tights that you can purchase for 15L. These tights come in pants, socks and tattoo layer for those of us using classic avatar bodies as well as Huds for owners of Maitreya or Slink mesh bodies. There are five different designs to choose from in the pack and I went with this playfully pink and blue diamond design which kinda reminds me of fun carnivals. Hmm…maybe it’s not too late to do that snowed in version of Harley Quinn I had in mind…

Have you been stalking the advents?

I have and to make your job easier, FabFree has an advent listing for you {HERE}. One of the advent boards that I’ve been stalking is the one at Alli&Ali Designs and Day 4 yielded the Carrie hairstyle in Cinnamon. It’s always great finding new stores and I’m really glad to have discovered this hairstore during my first ever Advent run in Second Life. As I understand it, the Advent Board gives out individual presents so there might still be a chance for you to receive the Carrie hair during this advent season. If not the Alli&Ali Designs advent is totally free and there’s still plenty of chances for you to pick up some new hairstyle to suit your taste and style!

Speaking of Advents

One of the ones I’m waiting for with baited breath is the 12 Days of Christmas Advent that’s starting at AlterEgo on the 14th of this month. This advent is open to group members so I highly recommend joining the Toxxic Designs Studios group now while it’s free as a membership fee will be in effect after the 13th. When you’re in the group and waiting for the advent to start, go ahead and grab Victoria, the new AlterEgo group gift. This gorgeous skin comes in two tones (rose and sunkissed) and you’ll be getting three classic skin with eyebrows/no eyebrows options, five brow shapes, eyelash alpha, physics and two shapes. There is also an applier hud included that works for Soul Uni, Slink, Belleza, Maitreya and Omega mesh bodies and parts. AlterEgo is fast becoming one of my favorite skin places because of it’s well-defined skin and unique faces as well as it’s frequent and generous group gifts. Oh, and if you know someone who’s under 30 Days old in Second Life, bring them over to AlterEgo as there are gifts specifically aimed for newbies too!

And that’s a wrap for today! Happy decorating and adventing!
