Gaming therapy

Gaming therapy

It’s been a long, long day.

The type of day where all I look forward to is getting home, kicking off my shoes and popping in the first game within reach. Some days I dither about in large open world sandboxes or participate in cover based shooting or just appreciate the graphic epic-ness that is the summons in Final Fantasy 15. Whatever it is, it’s nice to stop ‘adulting’ for a while just as it’s always nice to find (free) merchandise in Second Life that harkens back to my gaming roots.

A gamer’s needs:

Headset to listen to epic game music with plus operating mic so that you can banter and/or yell at teammates (can we please try not to aggro the giant horned fanged thing 300 levels higher than us?!)  during multiplayer…Check. Snacks…Check. Console controller…Check. Granted I wouldn’t usually wear such a thing around my neck but if it did come in a cute necklace version like the one from .{PSYCHO:Byts}. pictured above, I’d probably be the first in line. Speaking of .{PSYCHO:Byts}. and cute, quirky gamer themed accessories the headset, pixel lollipop, and controller necklace is all part of the Gamer’s Heart set that is out from .{PSYCHO:Byts}. (can’t you tell that I’m having fun typing out the name of this store?) for the XOXO Hunt. These beautifully crafted accessories are unisex (there’s a longer version of the necklace for men) and permissions are set to copy and modify so that you’ll be free to make as many copies as you want before adjusting the position and size of these accessories to your avatar. Truth be told I converted this set when I first saw it on the prize list and it was a stroke of good luck that I manage to snag it for free. For more on how to get in on the fun that is the XOXO Hunt take a peek at my post {HERE}.

Etched in your skin.

Another prize that I badly wanted and was lucky enough to get on my second round of the XOXO Hunt is the Lovesick tattoo from Songbird. It’s been a while since I’ve indulged in some body art and these beautifully detailed hearts shaped facial tattoos is not only a good way to dive back into that but is great for keeping in step with the season. I love how it looks freshly etched into the skin, with some of the larger hearts leaving red trail marks on the skin. The gift package includes the classic tattoo layer as well as an Omega applier that can be used for all mesh heads that are compatible with the Omega System. If you want to learn more about the Songbird store there’s also a helpful all in one customer hud included with the prize as well. As with all gifts in the XOXO hunt, you can either win this great prize for free or purchase it from the vendor for 50L. The XOXO Hunt is running until the 25th of this month.

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to see if my gear’s up to snuff to finish off this Leshen. Catch you later guys!

Strangelove

Once Upon A February 14th…

Urgh! She thought as she looked at her blind date from across the table. How in the world did I let myself get saddled in with this mook? So far, this exercise at being sociable (as her friends had put it) was going at an excruciatingly slow pace and she couldn’t help thinking about all the events and hunts and sales and fairs and gacha markets that she could be exploring at the moment instead of being stuck here. At least there was dancing. Or more to a point, one dance. The only charitable observation she could make about the whole thing was that the music had been decent enough though her partner had managed to step on her dress no less than fifteen times (she counted. really). He had been apologetic, even pretended to be interested in where she had gotten it from but when she started talking about how it was a free gift from KIB Designs for the 2nd Level Event, his eyes went glassy and distant. Not wanting to be daunted, she barreled on to say that she loved the dress’ romantic full skirt and simple color scheme; that the belted detailing was something to be admired but that only got a faint nod out of him. Worse, when she mentioned that even though the dress only came in sizes for Maitreya, Belleza and Slink (hourglass as well) mesh bodies it had an alpha layer included in the gift package so that classic avatars could try out the dress too she only received a blank look for her efforts. After that fiasco, she stopped trying. No need to tell him that the 2nd Level Event was only running until the 28th and that there were more goodies to be had.

The food here isn’t half bad. Though…is he checking his phone? Is he watching a football game on it?! She had half a mind to ask him to put the cell on the table so that they could watch the game together, at least that would put her out of her misery. The courses came and went and he surprised her by asking if she wanted to take a stroll on the boardwalk instead of just taking her home. It was chilly out but he offered her his jacket and complimented her hair. Maybe things are starting to look up. Since it had all gone downhill the last time she had talked about freebies, she bit her tongue on how the Luna Phase hairstyle was currently on the no group needed Midnight Mania board at Mello. Kept silent on how the prize package contained two variations on the hairdo (one with lovely curling horns and one without) and how you’d not only receive a hud with sixteen vivid colors for the hair but also a separate one for the horns as well that allowed you to customize your look. She bottled that all up, muttered a Thank you in return and shifted her gaze up towards the full moon. Wait. Full moon? Full…Oh no! She should have made sure. She should have specified. Oh…

Several hours later she came too, propped up against a table and with sunlight shining in her eyes. Squinting she looked around and, that’s ketchup right? Please tell me that’s ketchup. Her date was nowhere in sight. Well…not all of him. She thought with a guilty little cringe as she looked at the bloody heart sitting on the table next to her. As far as keepsakes go, she’s certainly had, stranger.

Background details

The backdrop I’m using for the picture above is out now at Chaotic Creative for the Stupid Cupid Hunt 5. For just 1L you’ll get this awesomely detailed (though very very messy) Bad Breakup Propbox. The propbox comes furnished with the table, heart, and knife as shown in the picture and a light fixing that isn’t shown and has four inbuilt poses to choose from, pictured is the one called ‘Numb’.  There are two different versions of the bloodied walls included in the prize folder, one for dark walls (shown) and the other for light walls. Permissions for the Propbox are set to copy so you can make as many versions of it as you like with a land impact of six for the propbox itself and a land impact of five for the light fixing. Chaotic Creative is certainly a store to watch. If you’re interested in more products from this merchant they have prizes for older hunts out on the counter of their main room.

And that’s a wrap. I did promise to tell you how my Valentine’s Day blind date went and I think we can all agree that it was boring to be sure. Would any of you know how to get bloodstains out though? …nevermind I need to get back to playing Resident Evil 7.  Catch you guys later! Oh and here’s a full picture of the propbox itself so you can see it in all its glory:

Family outing

Family outing

Achoo!

-snifflesniff- Oh the things I do for you, Commander. He’s been so sulky recently (I wonder why. He does have the treehouse to himself) and to remedy this I decided to take him on my latest outing. Something urban was what I had in mind, but he seemed insistent on the quiet little nooks and crannies and we ended up on snowy Honeycomb. It was quite lucky that I already had on this cozy outfit or else you’d be seeing a Sheidey-cicle.

Lifesaver.

There’s been more activity recently on the Fabulously Free in SL group gift page but before you go running off I’d like to bring to your attention this wonderfully comfortable gift from BlackRose. With a few sims still in the grip of Winter (let’s face it some of those will be Wintery all year long, it is SL after all) it’s best to at least keep some warm outfits at hand. A top candidate for this is the wonderfully textured Hearts sweater dress. Long sleeved and loose fitting, this sweater dress is great to move around in and I simply adore the contrasting white heart patterns on it. Though the dress’ high turtleneck collar is guaranteed to protect your neck from cool winds, the Hearts sweater dress also features an inbuilt scarf for added warmth. The scarf itself is complimentary to the outfit (and perfect for days when you don’t want to stand around choosing accessories for yourself) with it’s darker red tones and pretty Aztec-esque prints that add a nice dash of teal to the entire outfit. Sizes included in the gift package are; five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) and one fitted mesh size. There is also a great alpha layer included that really helps with the fitting.

The Hearts sweater dress is free with your free Fabulously Free in SL group tag; take a peek {HERE} to get the details of how to join up. If you have another group slot to fill up, do consider joining the BlackRose store group as not only is it free but they have two group gifts (one of them blogged {HERE} by Love) out now for you to collect.

Family outing (accessories)XOXO

Valentine’s Day may be over but I don’t see why I should stop wearing red or forsake anything heart shaped until next year. I’ve only just gotten into the many, many Valentines themed hunts going on across the grid at the moment, with one of them being the XOXO hunt. This hunt puts a great twist on the traditional hunting format in that you’ll need to rely on lucky and charm (but mostly just luck) to get your prize. When you arrive at participating merchants, just spot the golden heart and type in ‘xoxo’ without the quotation marks in local chat. If that ‘lurve connection’ is strong, you’ll the prize for free and if not, you’ll have 24 hours to practice your wooing and try again. If you don’t want to wait for your objects of affection, however, simply pay the vendor 50L for your prize. The hunt hud is pretty nifty for getting around fast and is available from the organizer’s office or from the Marketplace for free.

My first round of the hunt yielded some pretty great results as I managed to snag these unique booties from Bodhi. Just look at the heels on these!! How could I pass up wearing something with heart-shaped heels?! ! (-Ahem- Must remember to be professional. -coughcough-) The open toe design and luscious deep red color also work in favor of these booties as do the gold studding that adorns its body. The Bodhi heart heels are made for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink mesh feet only.

Another prize that I picked up on the XOXO hunt trail was the Hypnotic Hearts fatpack from Koffin Nails. I’m always looking for new manicure and pedicure stores (-glances guiltily at all the nail polish bottles on her vanity-) and was pretty excited to receive this gift from Koffin Nails. Included are applier huds for Maitreya and Slink mesh hands and feet and an Omega applier hud for mesh bodies compatible with that system. On the hud are nine striking duel colored combinations to choose from. Personally, I love how glossy these nails look and the detailing of the heart shape on each one is simply amazing. The XOXO Hunt is running from the 11th to the 25th of this month so go and try your luck!

And that’s a wrap. The wind is picking up and come on Commander, let’s see if Mama Bear and the twins would like to join us for dinner.

Catch you guys later! Oh but before I leave here’s a closer look at that amazing mani and pedi set from Koffin Nails.

Ice Dreams

Ice Dreams

Nostalgia.

Things disappear in Second Life really quickly don’t they? I was going through my landmarks folder and discovered that some of the places that I used to visit have either changed drastically or are altogether gone. It was a bit of a relief to discover that Ice Dreams and the picturesque boardwalk that it’s standing on is still there. The Baja Norte sim was one of the very first sims I visited when I rezzed and I still remember trying to figure out how camera angles and windlight settings worked right in front of this little ice cream stall. Those attempts have long been bined (why I thought neon, drop waist medieval gowns were a good idea is beyond me) though I think that the results of my second attempt could certainly be a keeper.

Here are the details;

All it takes is an inspiring hat,

Being on a bit (loosely putting it) of a hat binge recently, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the updated Fabulously Free In SL group gift from Belle Epoque was a simple yet elegant straw hat. It was as if I couldn’t get it out of the box fast enough, oohing and ahhing all the way at its pretty textures and the white ribbon detailing around its crown. It added a nicely feminine touch especially when paired together with the green leaves and lovely white carnations that sit on one side of the hat’s brim. To get a little bit more technical about things, the hat comes with a nifty resizer script and permissions are set to copy so that you can make as many backups as you want.

Well, it looks like I’m ready to keep the sun out of my eyes this upcoming Spring; and all for free too as there is no cost to join the Fabulously Free in SL group. Just wear your group tag when clicking on the vendor and you’ll be good to go. Still hazy on how to join the group? Visit this page {HERE} and take a step closer to collecting all the free gifts that we have on our listing.

A generous gift card,

Last Friday, Pru did a post about FabFree Designer Ollie’s Follies and my curiosity was piqued when I saw that they were offering a 100L gift card on their midnight mania board. She went on to detail that a group tag was not needed to smack the board and with a very low goal (10!) to lock the it, I couldn’t resist popping down to give it a tap as well. With my free gift card in hand I explored Ollie’s Follies further and found not a few things that caught my fancy. Foremost was the Lysa dress which comes in an array of colors and prints (pictured is the pale blossom color). The style of the dress, with it’s V-shaped neckline and belted waist went quite nicely with Belle Epoque’s Straw Hat and the girly look I was going for. The Lysa dress comes in five standard mesh sizes, though there are sizes for mesh bodies sold separately at the store as well, with a good alpha layer included. Usually this classic little number is priced at 150L though with my gift card activated I ended up only forking out 50L for it which was just wonderful. While you’re there at Ollie’s Follies don’t forget to grab your Fabulously Free in SL group gift as well!

Great weekly deals,

It’s 50 Linden Fridays again! There’s a great group of designers for this round that will surely leave you spoiled for choice. I’ve never missed on getting a hair pack from Wasabi Pills every time they participate in 50 Linden Fridays and this week was no different. The side swept Olivia hairstyle was a great whimsical fit to today’s outfit and comes with a Hud of 7 varied colors to choose from.

The second item I picked up from this week’s 50 Linden Fridays was the Kismet socks from Luxuria. These delicate over the knee socks with its pretty lace fringe comes in eight solid colors (white shown in picture) and can be used by most avatars as it comes in the following sizes:

  • System layer for classic avatars
  • Appliers for Maitreya, Slink and mesh bodies compatible with the omega system.

If you’d like either item for your virtual inventory, it’s highly recommended that you do so quickly as these deals are available for Friday only.

And a ton of likes.

Remember those heels from Essenz that I blogged about a couple of days ago (hint hint)? Well, since achieving 2500 likes on Facebook, the store is giving away a set of the Paris heels in neutral colors for free! While I already own the shoes in those lovely pink shades, it’s pretty great to receive additional colors for it. The gift package includes sizes for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink mesh feet with a shoe base to help with the fitting. There’s also an easy to use Hud which lets you switch between three colors for the main body of the shoe as well as its sole and fittings. Congratulations Essenz! Hurry down to the store to grab your pair today as these heels are only available until the 19th.

And that’s a wrap. The sun’s going down on Baja Norte and I should go and see if those walruses in the distance would like to share an ice cream cone or four with me. Catch you later and have fun out there guys!

A cure for rain

Renard

Rain, rain go away

Nursery rhymes are rather common in my real life day to day and that particular one has been a ‘fan favorite’ as of late probably due to the fact that it’s been drizzling or outright storming off and on this entire week. To escape, I’ve been traversing through the sunniest sims I could find and it’s pretty fortunate that there are some great deals at the moment to help make my travels a whole lot less costly. Since I’ve been finding my (virtual) self on the uneven ground of the great outdoors more often than not, I thought it prudent to take advantage of the newest group gift from Reign. The Arianna sneakers are not only gorgeous and great quality two hallmarks that I’ve come to associate with Reign but the gift package also includes two different style variations if you’re wearing them for flat mesh feet and a size that fits mesh high feet as well. As someone who hasn’t gotten around to getting flat feet, it was nice to be able to slip on some sneakers for a change on my Slinks.

Here’s a rundown of styles and compatible mesh feet included in the gift package:

  • Belleza mesh feet: Regular, Slipped on, Sloppy (for Belleza Flat) Trippies (for Belleza High)
  • Maitreya mesh feet: Regular, Slipped on, Sloppy (for Maitreya Flat) Trippies (for Maitreya High)
  • Slink mesh feet: Regular, Slipped on, Sloppy (for Slink Flat) Trippies (for Slink High)
  • TMP mesh feet: Regular, Slipped on, Sloppy (for TMP bare) Trippies (for TMP Ouch)

If you’re wondering what the style variations are for the flat feet it’s between wearing your sneakers normally, and simply slipping them on to leave the ends folded up under your heel. It’s a nice, slouchy detail to be sure. The gift package also includes a hud that allows you to choose between three different colors schemes (red with white hearts, white with black hearts and black with white hearts) for the body of your shoes as well as the laces (choice of three colors) and the sole of the shoe (choice of two colors)

The Reign group has a joining fee of 250L however you can still pick up older group gifts while you’re there.

Welcome addition

It’s certainly a good idea to stock up on those comfy clothes now that I’m nursing a bad case of wanderlust, though truth be told I would have snapped up this lovely pair of denim shorts from Ibela Store on the Marketplace anyway. There’s a serious lack of shorts or even pants in my inventory (or maybe they’re just hidden under the mountains of pet food) so the Mina shorts with it’s high waist and faded wash are certainly a welcome addition. Priced at only 1L, I was pretty glad that I didn’t have to break the bank too.

Sizing details:

  • Five Standard Mesh sizes (XS-XL) with a good alpha layer for classic avatars.
  • One size for the Slink Physique mesh body.
  • One size for the Maitreya mesh body.

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to go spend my time with these two cuties, they’re pretty convinced I’m one of them. I’ll leave with a close up picture of the Arianna Sneakers to give you a better picture of what the style variations are. Have fun out there guys!

All you need is…

All you need is

A pair of pink sneakers!

Since my laptop has continued to be in a good mood (though I was really pushing my luck during this shoot, to be honest) I decided to put those long neglected landmarks to use and visit another picturesque sim. A quiet stroll through beautiful countryside called for proper footwear (wouldn’t want to go tripping and rolling into a ditch) and it was the perfect time to slip on these pink pair of high top sneakers that I’ve accommodated for myself recently from Graffitiwear. Not only are they free but they’re part of the full outfit that you see in the picture above.

This adorable and high-quality t-shirt, skirt and sneakers combination is a gift for Valentine’s Day that Graffitiwear has most generously set out. There is no group tag needed for you to grab this outfit for your virtual wardrobe though since freebies like these can be fleeting and I’m not sure how long this gift will be out for, I suggest you do it ASAP. Here are the sizing details:

Knotted t-shirt:

  • Five Fitmesh sizes (XS-XL)
  • Knotted t-shirt alpha layer

Skirt:

  • Five standard mesh sizes (XS-L)
  • Skirt alpha layer

Sneakers:

  • Sneakers alpha layer
  • Sneakers shoe base

I’m wearing the sneakers without the use of my Slink feet and they fit like a dream. While you’re at Graffitiwear, do consider joining their group (the joining fee stands at 5L) or their subscribers group to stay in touch with the great deals going on at the store. There’s also a steady stream of gifts and other perks that make joining the group worthwhile.

A new day a new hairstyle

While waiting for my blind date to turn up ( the date was a bust, by the way, I’ll tell you the story some other time) I passed the time by looking into the Marketplace and came across this beautiful mesh hairstyle from Fabia. Long and flowing and elegant the Rima hair was just up my alley and it didn’t hurt that it only cost 1L. You’ll also get a hud of thirty natural colors to choose from a fact that certainly made me less huffy that he was running late.

Well, that’s a wrap for today. I have more of this countryside to explore so catch you guys later!

Can I make a connection?

Can I make a connection?

Another bright and sunny day

Well, it looks like the weather’s perfect for Valentine’s and while Commander’s distracted with chasing butterflies, I decided that it would be a good time to sneak in some headshot practice. If you’ve been following Love’s blog posts (here and here) recently, you’ll have been clued in about the Alaskametro hunt going on right now at Free Dove. It’s not a hunt to pass up on (Free Dove also runs two more free hunts concurrently at their location) but needless to say, I got wholly distracted by all the other free goodies that you can find there as soon as I teleported in. One of these is the Serenity skin by Alaskametro. I was immediately intrigued by this (as I always am when encountering new to me skin brands) and a look at the box told me that the skin gift package would include:

  • One classic avatar skin
  • Lipstick and Eyeshadow classic tattoo layers (worn in picture)
  • Omega skin appliers for mesh bodies compatible with the Omega system
  • Omega applier for both lipstick and eyeshadow
  • One shape

Snapping up the gift and taking a peek inside also lead me to discover that you’ll receive a bald base and eyebrow shaper as well. I’ve tried Alaskametro’s makeup and clothing in the past and the Serenity skin certainly doesn’t disappoint in terms of quality. The subtle tones of the makeup provided go really well with such a sweet face and I do adore the light dusting of freckles that Serenity has. It’s certainly a skin to wear for Valentine’s Day!

Speaking of Hunts

There’s another one I’ve just started call the Stupid Cupid Hunt 5. It promises to be fun though I hope I don’t get shot by any arrows in the process. One of the stops on the hunting path is Kingswood and they’re offering the Be My Valentine USB necklace as their hunt prize. This adorable and quirky necklace has an inbuilt resizer script for easier fitting and permissions are set to copy if (like me) you’d like to make backups before embarking on any modifications. I love how well detailed this necklace is, from the symbols on the USB to the little heart charm to the tag that reads Be My Valentine, it almost makes me wish I had this necklace in real life as I’m always loosing my USB drives (there’s probably a black hole in my purse or something). The Stupid Cupid Hunt runs from the 3rd of February to the 28th and prizes for the hunt are set to 1L.

Get to the Sale

What’s a holiday without scampering about to a sale? If you love getting more great quality hairstyles for your inventory, Clawtooth is holding a 25% off sale for all hair packs (gachas excluded) from the 13th to 15th February (not much time so hurry down). I’m wearing the Hang It Up hairdo in the picture which is an older style but I’ve had my eye on it for a while and thought that this was a good time to snap it up!

And that’s a wrap. I’d like to wish everyone a happy and safe Valentine’s Day! I got myself saddled with a blind date (pfft) and do you think I should bring Commander along? Some girls carry pepper spray others bring animals that could potentially maul you. Decisions…decisions.

Spring Steampunk

Spring Steampunk (full)

If the sky that we look upon well should tumble and fall

Taking pictures in one’s backyard has its perks but recently it’s been more of a hazard lately than anything else. After being nudged out of the treehouse for the umpteenth time by Commander (a polar bear that loves being up in trees; who would have thought) I decided to take my chances out on the grid. Thanks to a grumpy laptop, it’s been a while since I’ve managed to snap some shots on the many beautiful sims that Second Life has to offer but it seemed to be in a good mood today and lucky thing because the items I have to show you today deserve a marvelous backdrop.

Let’s start off with the newly updated Fabulously Free in SL group gift from MOoH! (thank you, Dalriada Delwood!). No matter how full my virtual closet gets (it’s pretty stuffed let me tell you), I always make room for clothing from MOoH! With their signature eye-catching designs and gorgeous texturing, it’s always a challenge to stop squeeing loudly whenever I see a new offer from this store. You can bet it’s what I did when I first laid eyes on the Janis dress but I really don’t think I can be blamed. After months of thick sweaters, this sleeveless, belted number was exactly what I needed in my life. Not only is the cut of this dress perfect for future Spring frolics, it’s deep lavender color is reminiscent of a field of flowers sharing the same name. Add that to the flowery lace overlay and well, Love hit the nail right on the head that this is a dress that can make you all excited for Spring!

The Janis dress comes in the following sizes:

  • Five Standard Mesh (XS-XL)
  • Five Fitmesh  (XS-XL)
  • Belleza Isis
  • Slink Physique and Hourglass
  • Maitreya

Included in the gift package is an alpha layer as well and with so many sizes to choose from I think there’s a good chance that you’ll find a fit for your avatar. As with all Fabulously Free in SL group gifts, the Janis dress is free of charge. You’ll only need to have your group tag activated and you won’t even have to pay a single L to join the group. While you’re at the store, do consider joining the MOoH! group as there are monthly group gifts and a monthly gift card for group members. The join fee for the MOoH! store group stands at a 100L but with all the goodies that you get, it’s a bargain.

Steampunk Spring

And the mountains should crumble to the sea

With February being the mushy month that it is, I decided to take a small break from all of that and visit The Broken Heart Fair. There’s a wide variety of goodies to be had at the fair, from decor to accessories to clothing and of course shoes. Most of the stalls had 30L or 35L items out as well as items going for 50% off and I had the good luck of grabbing this pair of Steampunk boots from Luas for only 35L. There’s no resisting a good pair of boots and I simply adore the chained gears detailing and those spikes that will no doubt add a subtle edge to any outfit. These Steampunk boots come with an alpha layer to help with the fit if you’re still on a classic avatar.

I won’t cry, I won’t cry, no I won’t she’d a tear

While you’re at The Broken Heart Fair, don’t forget to pick up the gifts that are available at the stores (just look for the heart-shaped box). You don’t need to have a group tag to get them and opening up boxes of free gifts after an outing is a fine way to pass the time yes? The bag in the picture is one such gift that you can get at the fair just by stopping by the Poet’s Heart stall. While it’s a long way to Halloween, I couldn’t resist bringing this cute, well-detailed bat bag with me on my adventures. There are two different variations of this bag in the prize package, one with a hold animation and one without.

The Broken Heart Fair is running until the 15th so hurry down and grab your gifts or do a little bit of shopping before it ends.

Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And that’s a wrap. Have fun on Valentine’s Day guys! If you’re wondering about the song, well, train tracks.

Candy Girl

Candy Girl

Sugar, ah honey honey

Once upon a time, I had a whole list of ideas (because I’m a dork like that) for themed posts that I could do leading up to Saint Valentine’s Day. Since things have sure taken a sharp swerve into busy between then and the present, I figured I’d just have enough time to at least honor my most favorite aspect of February the Fourteenth. Forget about flowers or jewelry or even -shudder- dates, this Valentine’s (like every other before it) will be all about that sweet, sweet sugar rush. In lieu of simply wearing a sign that declared to all the (virtual) world my love for cookies, cakes, chocolates, and candy, I looked towards the Fabulously Free in SL Group Gift Listing for some inspiration and free gifts. Needless to say, there was one that stood out in the form of La Boheme’s updated group gift. My picture doesn’t really do it any justice but the delicate heart and vines motif that is drawn on each nail is very reminiscent of the icing on the prettiest confectionaries. The gift package includes:

  • LB Crush Gold Manicure and Pedicure Set for Slink and Omega hands
  • LB Crush Silver Manicure and Pedicure Set for Slink and Omega hands
  • LB Crush Gold Manicure set for Maitreya hands
  • LB Crush Silver Manicure set for Maitreya hands

Manicure and Pedicure sets for Slink and Omega hands are done separately, so if you’ve been wanting that subtle difference between fingernails and toenails, this is it. For a closer look at the mani and pedi sets, have a look at Love’s post {HERE}

You are my candy girl

Fully aware that it’s a rare thing indeed to find a hat that speaks both to my love for odd headgear and my sweet tooth, there was no way that I’d pass on this Valentine’s Day freebie by June Trenkins. The vibrant pink of the Bubblegum hat is made even more eye-catching due to the riot of prismatic bubblegum balls that decorate it. While snapping this picture, I was so very tempted to reach up and snap off one of them to pop into my mouth. While the Bubblegum hat is not resizable, you can still move it up and down or side to side along your point of attachment for a better fit. Permissions are set to copy so that you’ll be able to make as many backup copies as you like.  I’m not sure how long this freebie will be up for so if you fancy it, best hurry and grab it for your hat collection.

And you got me wanting you

February has really become a month for reds and pinks, hasn’t it? Not that I’m complaining as it’s really interesting to see the use of different shades in the many gifts and freebies found on the grid this month. Personally, I wouldn’t have considered pink footwear (unless they were sneakers of the hot pink variety) but the latest group gift from Essenz has really changed my mind. Not only do the bows on the Paris heels make a sweet twist to the open toe style, they also come in a choice of three perfect shades of pink (shown here in Bubblegum). The easy to use Hud also lets you customize the metals of the shoe so you can personalize it your heart’s content. The Paris heels come in sizes for Maitreya, Belleza and Slink feet with a shoe base to help with the fit. The Essenz group has a 350L join fee but the Creator is very generous and their group gifts never disappoint.

Candy Girl Headshot

And you got me wanting you.

One of the first things I did as soon as there was a lull in ‘busy-ness’ was visiting one of my favorite skin stores. The Midnight Mania boards at 7 Deadly s{K}ins change out fairly regularly and on my last foray, I managed to get the Renske system skin pack off one of the Midnight Mania boards. As always when it comes to prizes from 7 Deadly s{K}ins, the Renske prize package was very generous and contained:

  • 7 system skins with cleavage/no cleavage options in the tones: Apricot, Chestnut, Cotton Candy, Powder, Pineapple (shown), Sand and Taupe.
  • Omega body appliers with cleavage/no cleavage options for all tones stated above.
  • Slink Hands and Feet appliers for all tones stated above
  • Tango and Phatazz appliers.

Midnight Mania boards are open to group members and this month group members will also have access to the Valentine’s Day Advent that runs from the first to the fourteenth of February. If you’re only hearing about this now, don’t worry as past gifts, aside from two I believe, are still available to you until the fourteenth. Right now the group join fee is 1000L but there’s always waiting for it to dip again if you’re not already a member and the store does hold free join exercises quite often. I just love the impish, sultry look on Renske. 7 Deadly s{K}ins have never disappointed and they’re certainly a store to watch.

And that’s a wrap. If the song’s stuck in your head I truly apologize. At least it’s catchy right?

Moooving on

Mooving on

Don’t wanna jinx it.

Does anyone remember those cartoon shorts with this poor little character on board a leaky ship, trying desperately to plug up the holes as more and more leaks spring up? Yeah, I guess one of the downsides of having two lives is that you’re kinda left scrambling when they decide to simultaneously blow up on you. Recently, the place I’ve been renting at closed down (there goes my recarpeting project), leaving me to decide if I wanted to live a nomadic Second Life again or find a new place. It was the latter for me, though after trying to wrangle several pieces of furniture and animals into good behavior I was starting to wish I had settled on the former before putting in the downpayment. But you know what they say about silver linings right? Amidst rogue picture frames, feathers and Commander being Commander, thanks to SL’s generous designers I managed to put this cute (inexpensive) outfit together.

For your active lifestyle

Freedom of movement if definitely a must for when you’re putting up the treehouse that rezzed upside down for some reason or just trying to stop your Polar Bear from eating the owls. The Zodiac Glitter tanks from Baby Monkey is just the right answer to these oddly specific problems and is currently one of many group gifts sitting on their main store wall. Even if you’re not currently being plagued by moving in woes, these tanks will prove to be a great addition to your virtual wardrobe. Coming in basic black, the Zodiac Glitter thanks feature each of the twelve zodiac symbols respectively and while I’m wearing the top with my own astrological symbol in the picture I’m rather tempted to try on the others as they come in a wide variety of glittery, eye-popping colors. These tanks are made for both Classic and Mesh avatars alike as the gift package includes the standard shirt layer as well as Maitreya, Belleza, Slink and Omega appliers. Baby Monkey has a 20L join fee but I feel that the regular, high-quality gifts are well worth it. As stated above the Zodiac Glitter tanks are just one of many gifts currently available so go and get your grab on.

Flowery

Shopping on the Marketplace has become quite a habit of mine recently and on my last foray, I discovered these pretty pair of shorts from LS Diamond that are just perfect for slouchy, casual days. There was no resisting the flower, pastel print of these shorts and I appreciated the little detail of the drawstring as well. These shorts come in five standard mesh sizes (XXS-L) with an alpha layer as well as sizes for Belleza (Isis, Venus, Freya), Slink (Hourglass, Physique), TMP and Maitreya mesh bodies. Pull your browser up and head to the LS Diamond marketplace store to get your pair of shorts for 1L. While you’re there, go ahead and grab another great looking dollarbie that’s available at the store as well.

A discovery

Making new discoveries in Second Life have never lost their novelty for me and one such discovery is Aura Design. The Lale fitted mesh hairstyle that I’m wearing in the picture is the past Christmas gift that the store has out for the Maitreya Gifts, Sales and News group. This elegant half up do comes together with a hud of fifteen gorgeous colors and is yours for free with the Maitreya Gifts, Sales and News group tag. The group itself is free to join so what are you waiting for if you have a group slot available that needs filling?

And that’s a wrap. I’m going to leave this right here:

Leek or Leak

Because it took me an embarrassingly long time trying to figure out if it was leak or leek. Oy.
