Farewell to Sn@tch

This is a difficult post for me to write, today, FabFree.  It seems that there’s been a few deaths in our community the last few months, and each one seems to affect us in ways we perhaps didn’t expect.  Every time I hear of another person who has passed on, I am again taken by surprise at how this virtual world becomes such a part of us – and especially how the people in it are a part of our daily lives, even if we’re not physically together.

Today, I want to take just a moment to reflect on the passing of the extremely lovely Ivey Deschanel of Sn@tch.  Sadly, she was ill for quite a while and passed away in January from Cancer.  I remember the last time I spoke to her she had been feeling better and was hopeful that things would improve, but it seems that it returned and sadly we are now without her sparkling positivity.

I’d like to just talk for a moment about why Sn@tch was such an important place for me, because as we know, people may forget what you said, but they won’t forget how you made them feel, and Ivey and Sn@tch always made me feel happy.  Sn@tch was the first store that I ever shopped at in SL.  The first place I paid *gasp* real Lindens in order to buy outfits I just HAD to have.  It was the beginning of a massive collection of clothing, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

I really also miss Ivey’s weekly notecards, which always contained some sentences of encouragement and positivity, and I always thought that was something to marvel at.  Week after week, she reminded us to take care of each other and be kind.  I loved every second of it.

Sn@tch also played a really huge part in why I’m here running FabFree today.  Several years ago, I was fishing for an outfit (good times) at the pond at Sn@tch and happened to land right beside the illustrious Love Trill (who was the fearless fashionista leader before me and who made FabFree what it is today).  We got to talking, and a few days later I was blogging here at FabFree.    What a place.

I’m sorry if this post is a little sad, but… what a virtual world we live in where we can love and care for people we’ve never really met.  And that’s what I’ll always remember.

Hooked on a Feeling

I told you the weekend was going to get here, didn’t I, FabFree?  I’m usually pretty right about these things, don’t wanna brag but… Plus, it’s the eve of October, and I’m throwing all caution to the wind and starting off showing some fun Halloweeny (and free!) finds.

There are some new lucky boards at Aurica’s sim.  Three stores have banded together, and right at the landing point you’ll find one lucky board from each store.  I really liked this shiny and rather sexy bodysuit!  There’s no group join required to get any of the prizes, and all you have to do is wait for your letter to come up – making this outfit completely free. According to Aurica’s designer, the prizes in the boards will be changed every 15 days – so that’s something to look forward to, isn’t it?  Good luck!

A Punk in Winter

Hey FabFree! I am rocking a new punk look among the winter mountain scenery and it’s chilly. I can wear crop tops in Winter but it’s not exactly recommended. At least I look wicked, like I’m posing to be on the front of the latest punk band’s album cover. 😉

Splatterpunk

I have a quick post for today, which is to show the latest fishing outfit available at Sn@tch. This outfit has been around for a while and it’s still out to play.  I’m not sure for how long though, so hurry! As with all the Sn@tch fishing outfits, you need to buy a 7 Seas fishing “casual rod” for 100L. It’s a one-time purchase and once you have it, you can fish at Sn@tch for life!

This set of fishing prizes is called the “Splatterpunk” set! I love it.

The prizes I am wearing are:

• An alternative, punk-ish hairstyle in auburn. You can also win this hair in blonde or black.
• A BOM fishnet black croptop with rhinestones to cover up your bits. That part of the top is not visible here, as my jacket is covering myself up. It’s cute and it works perfectly as a top to wear underneath the jacket!

Hiya got a quick little post for you. Jacx has been stalking Lucky Boards again, LOL.

Old Man Winter

Overnight my little corner of Second Life got dumped with a ton of snow, needing warmth and a huge sugar fix, (haha sugar rush to keep my spirits up) so dropped over to my neighborhood coffee shop for some hot cocoa and baked treats. For this outing, Jacx is modeling a Pink Cream Pie Lucky Board find. The Mariah skirt, shown here in the Pompom color fills the bill nicely, comfortably slipping under the sweater for a stylish complete look. A 24 color panty hud is included so you can match your undies to whatever you wish. Day With My Buds

After a hectic week of TP’ing, crowded events, unpacking, sorting, reboxing. A girl just needs a break from time to time. Just Do It!

Hey gang,

Just a quickie today, something a little out of the ordinary for you!

It’s getting to be that time of year when its cooler out so we eat more, and there are holidays, so we eat more, and the holidays make us feel certain ways so maybe we eat and drink more….

So I thought, what I need is a little workout area of my own!  Maybe if Arielle is working out, it will inspire me to workout too (I’m not holding my breath!  lol)

Either way I found these adorable items at Dench Designs.  There is an exercise mat (that comes with barbells to work out with!  They attach automatically!) for only 50L, and a treadmill for only 40L!  Both are low prim too so they can be used even if you are low on prims!

As bloggers we need our bodies to look fab (no pun intended!) and so there is no slacking off when we have to keep toned to showcase all sorts of clothing for our valued readers!
