Paradise Found

Hello again, Fab Free!  It’s been a minute (ok, waaaaay more than a minute) since I last posted.  Real life threw me a bunch of curve balls and I had to take a break from SL, but I am over-the-moon happy to be back!  I’ve missed writing for you and have tons of budget-friendly fashion finds to share, so let’s get to it!

Oh, These Dog Days of Summer…

In my mind, the only place to spend the hot, sultry, late summer days is at the beach.  While Gus sniffed around for the perfect location for our getaway, I did what I do best – headed out for some retail therapy to pick up everything we needed.  I found the sweetest itsy-bitsy tropical print Marisol bikini over at Just Imagine.  This cute little number hugs your curves and features delicate, chain-like shoulder straps.  The free gift for members of the Just Imagine group also includes color-coordinating sunglasses and a visor to protect your peepers from the glare.  You have to be a member of the group to receive the gift, but it’s completely free to join.

That’s a Wrap

Next, I journeyed to AnaStyle to try my luck at the Follow-Up vendor there, hoping to score a chic cover-up to ward off the harsh rays of the sun.  The Follow-Up board is filled with lots of summery goodies, all priced at 35L$, however, I had my eye on the oversized Malibu shirt.  There are three color variations, all of which would complement the Marisol bikini well, but my favorite was the white.  Luckily for me, that was the first prize available when it was my turn to play.  For only 35L$, the Malibu top provides that added layer of protection and pairs perfectly with my suit.  Its lightweight, translucent fabric lets your natural beauty shine through.

To the Beach!

With my outfit ready to go, all that was left to do was pack a few snacks, a couple of water bottles along with a collapsible water bowl, some Gus-Gus treatos, and my latest library book into my oversized straw bag.  Then, my pal and I teleported to the dog-friendly shore over at Le Monde Perdu.  Paradise found, indeed.  Great work, Gus-Gus!

Meet Me At Midnight

A new round of Midnight Order has opened, and there are free gifts!

Do I need to say more? No. But you know I will anyway. This is such a fantastic event, full of shadowy gorgeous midnight things. It’s really got the coolest vibe which totally matches my ever present need to do something a little out of the ordinary to sweet little Allison Tobias. After I collected the free gifts, I found myself unpacking all kinds of darkly fun accessories and makeup that will be just perfect to sneak into future looks.

Surreal

Let’s talk about the free gifts. All I had to do was join the free Second Life Syndicate group and have a wander around the event. There are metal boxes outside of the booths with green text above them, and those contain the free gifts. Just click while wearing the tag and watch your inventory inflate. Here are the free gifts that I’ve curated for tonight’s post:

Contemplation in Lilac

Here I am again, just lounging around and contemplating all the things.  I get a lot of time to contemplate the world here in SL.  I like to make sure mine is tinged with pretty hues of lavender, just to keep things happy.

You Look So Fine

It was a very cool shopping and freebie week for me, Fabs!  I have all kinds of things to show you, but I tried to show them in a very simple picture where you could appreciate their beauty.

PBR

It’s here, and lots of us love it, and some of us not so much, but it’s here to stay, so let’s celebrate it!  Just Because created a new group gift this month, with 2K PBR textures, and they’re gorgeous and light reflecting and shimmery and lovely!  It has a full fatpack of colors too.  Now, if you’re not using a PBR enabled viewer, you will only see the dress as white, but if you are using one, the magic unfolds.  It’s sized for:

The Just Because group is currently 300L to join, I had joined last December for her advent calendar.  Maybe you did too?

Depending on the EEP, the black texture of this dress varies between a shimmery navy blue and black, which was perfect for the new hat I got over at Poison Rouge, the group gift for July.  It’s black with a navy sash, resizable, and comes in 2 versions, one with feathers and one without.  Of course, I had to use the feathery one!  Many of you may have joined Poison Rouge during SL21B Shop&Hop as her group was free and she gave out credit.  She makes a lot of hats and some very beautiful dresses.  The group is usually 100L to join but might be free through today, as the SL21B Shop&Hop ends today at noon, and she put her group free for that event.  Hurry!  She’s very generous and consistent with gifts for her members!

Speaking of feathers

Sad news for all of us who like to walk on the dark side now and again, the store Cinphul is closing in world and will be on MP only.  She has wonderfully dark and gruesome designs, and I had seen these shoes and bag for an event, but couldn’t afford them.  Because she’s closing her in-world store, she’s having a massive 75% off everything sale, so I poppped over so fast to pick these up (they were still too expensive to blog for Fab Free).  However, they’re so unique and there’s bound to be things in her store now that fall under 75L I wanted to mention the sale.  The sale runs until August 3rd.
