Hello Fab Free! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty great, I feel refreshed and ready to take on the weekly grind. As for this post I have some Spookzilla finds, and a few October group gifts to share. First, I’m slightly obsessed with bats, which made these lounge shorts and matching top by 1 Hundred absolutely irresistible. I also picked up some pretty must-have makeup group gifts at Purple Beauty, and ghoulish confection group gift from Palette.

1 Hundred at Spookzilla

1 Hundred has 8 total hunt prizes at the Spookzilla event. You’ll need to hunt down the little ghosts from 1 Hundred hidden around the Spookzilla sim. I picked up the “Night Wing” shirt and the matching “Night Wing” shorts for just 10 linden each. The top says “moonlight” across the front and has a purple bat on the back. The shorts have a high slit on either side.

Purple Beauty

I’m a sucker for good makeup, BOM layers, appliers, I’ll wear them both. For me makeup is just a fun form of self expression. Purple Beauty has two beautiful group gifts available. One is a BOM layer eyeshadow set, and the other is a glittery gloss set in a Catwa HD applier. The colors in both sets are vibrant and beautiful on. The Purple Beauty group has a join fee of just 50 linden.

Palette

This “Vampire Milkshake” group gift at Palette manages to be gory and cute. It also ties in nicely with my very relatable Angelina Jolie quote at the top of the post. This ghoulish beverage comes with a bento hold pose for the right or left, and a display version. The cup says “Happy Halloween” with little bats, also I love the little bat chocolates on the top! You’ll need to join the “Leggy Mainstore Official” group which is the store group for Palette to claim this gift. The group has a join fee of just 10 linden.

Like a Black Widow, Baby

I’m kinda getting my metaphors (sorta) mixed today with my bodysuit and veil.  But I figure, if I’m going to be a black widow…I may as well be both the one who lost her partner, and the one who fights crime at the same time, right?  I don’t know…whatever it is I’m doing I’m quite enjoying it!

I love me some Marvel, and especially Black Widow.  She’s so cool, and her hair is always perfect, even when she’s kicking some posterior.  This bodysuit from Nanika *kinda* made me think of her, though the blood spatters are a bit worrisome… Anyway, you can pick up this terrifying item from their store (it also comes with a matching pair of stockings) by joining their group for just 50L.  There are several other very nice gifts on the wall while you’re at it, so make sure you grab them too!

Because Halloween is Every Day

I am not a big fan of the horror genre, but I have a soft spot for cheesy, B-rated monster movies.  There is nothing like curling up with a bowl of popcorn to laugh at some bad special effects.  So when I saw the Ava corset on ad board at the Boo at Blacklace Hunt, I just had to find it!  It comes with matching panties and like all of the prizes on the hunt, it is completely free.  Besides the old monster movie poster theme, the lingerie set has a day of the dead sugar skull pattern as well.

These cute heels/stockings combo are a free hunt prize on the Ewa/LaSkull Halloween Hunt.  The gifts are a Halloween costume collaboration between Ewa and LaSkull, The Angelina “angel” costume in Ewa and the Luana “devil” costume in LaSkull.  Each store has three prizes in easy to find gift baskets.  The shoes I am wearing are from the LaSkull portion of the hunt and are part of the Luana set.

Males, Rejoice! A Free Mesh Head for You Too!

LOGO is celebrating it’s 15th year Anniversary by giving away a free male and female head.  For 15 days you can teleport in , join the free group, and buy your respectable head for 1L, which will be refunded to you upon transaction completeness.  That can take awhile because the sim is full.  Just be patient, it will happen eventually.  However, if you are new to Second Life and are looking for a free head, please be aware you can not, CAN NOT wear this head right out of the box.  This head does not come with a skin.  Yes you can get the Chase head for free , but you will have to either buy the skins for $299L when you purchase the head, or find a BOM skin that will look good enough with this head to wear it.  This head comes with one eyebrow colour, one hairbase colour, and a full beard.  In order to wear this, it’s a bit tricky. You need to put on the empty customization HUD, then put on the Chase skins and options installer HUD.  Once the installer HUD is on, you can click the lightened up pictures on that HUD. It will install them to the customization HUD.  You will see that there are skins in there has well, but if you try wearing one of those skins, it will come up with demo written across the forehead and cheeks of the face.

Believe it or not, I’m actually a poor guy here in this world of Second Life. So I was unable to buy the discounted $299L skins they are offering. I had to search my inventory for a skin I thought looked good enough on this head to show it to you today.  I am wearing the hairbase, and facial hair that comes with the head.  The head also includes a small animation HUD and a Facial AO you can wear.  It does come with talking animations as well.

Cacophony

It was a quiet Sunday morning.  All was peaceful, and a thin mist was hanging in the sunny hollows.  The birds were just beginning to wake, and a calm lay over the land….when suddenly the roofers appeared across the way and started making a godawful racket.  Their hammers rained blows upon the roof they were perched upon, and horror of horrors: they woke me up.  How could they possibly destroy the peace and tranquility I had so clearly earned?  Travesty, I say!

Back to Kustom9

The only way to get out of the funk caused by the uncaring roofers was clearly to get into some shopping therapy.  The best way to do that is always to shop but not spend any Lindens (and also listen to loud music and eat a cake pop…)!  I headed back to Kustom9, where they’re still celebrating their anniversary, and picked up a few of the gifts I missed out on on my first whirlwind visit.  It’s much quieter now, so you’ll actually be able to walk through at a semi-leisurely pace.  As mentioned before, the gifts from Kustom9 are all free to members of the free-to-join Kustom9 group!  Here’s what I’ve got on:
