Making Holiday Memories

In all honesty little moments like this one are my favorite part of the holidays. I find the most joy in things like wrapping presents, and cozying up with my love to watch Christmas movies. It might be an unusual year to say the least, but we can still find moments to enjoy the little things that matter most. Blue and I got into a festive mood recently with the free hunt prizes by Always Design and Park Place on the Peace on Earth Hunt. Males, Rejoice! A Free Mesh Head for You Too!

LOGO is celebrating it’s 15th year Anniversary by giving away a free male and female head.  For 15 days you can teleport in , join the free group, and buy your respectable head for 1L, which will be refunded to you upon transaction completeness.  That can take awhile because the sim is full.  Just be patient, it will happen eventually.  However, if you are new to Second Life and are looking for a free head, please be aware you can not, CAN NOT wear this head right out of the box.  This head does not come with a skin.  Yes you can get the Chase head for free , but you will have to either buy the skins for $299L when you purchase the head, or find a BOM skin that will look good enough with this head to wear it.  This head comes with one eyebrow colour, one hairbase colour, and a full beard.  In order to wear this, it’s a bit tricky. You need to put on the empty customization HUD, then put on the Chase skins and options installer HUD.  Once the installer HUD is on, you can click the lightened up pictures on that HUD. It will install them to the customization HUD.  You will see that there are skins in there has well, but if you try wearing one of those skins, it will come up with demo written across the forehead and cheeks of the face.

Believe it or not, I’m actually a poor guy here in this world of Second Life. So I was unable to buy the discounted $299L skins they are offering. I had to search my inventory for a skin I thought looked good enough on this head to show it to you today.  I am wearing the hairbase, and facial hair that comes with the head.  The head also includes a small animation HUD and a Facial AO you can wear.  It does come with talking animations as well.

Ghost Hunting

It’s October. During this month, every bump, creak, and thud you hear seems to make your mind race. All those late night horror movies on the TV don’t make it any better. Have you ever had one of those friends that wants to pull you away from the safety of your home to go out and do some real ghost hunting? Whether it be the old creepy haunted house, run down school, or abandoned hospital. I knew two such people, that during the month of October had to visit at least one haunted place. A few years back they actually dragged me along. To none other then an old abandoned hospital. As we walked around, nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. Sure a few sounds, maybe a moan, a thud in the distance. Then they dared me to go down to the morgue all by myself.

I was younger and never backed down from a dare. Yes, now that sounds rather idiotic and stupid. Totally something out of one of those horror movies we all watch. This time it was for real, for me anyway. I headed down to the morgue, stopping to make sure the bandanna on my hair was tied tight enough, gotta keep that long then unruly hair outta my eyes. That way I wouldn’t mistake it for some type of ghost in the corner of my eye. I pushed my way through the doors and walked into the morgue, which was a bit cold.  I pulled up my hood, from my smoke skull hoodie around my neck. I looked around, pieces from the ceiling scattered on the floor, a few of the body drawer doors open, and an old gurney against the back double doors. Then WHAM!!! One of the doors to the body drawers slams closed. Then a squeak, the gurney rolls back. I turn my head and there she is. I defensively put up a hand, leg, and scream. Yes…..yes I screamed. For there was a ghostly apparition of a teenage girl standing not just two feet away from me. There I was living a real life horror movie. To which I ran away from as fast as I could.

Under the cloak of darkness, among the wisps and fireflies such a moment exists when love conquers all, even for fearsome Drow. The realm of the Dark Elves has taken over the Twisted Hunt this fall. Will you be able to brave this difficult journey and seek the hunt prizes through decoys and without hints to their location?

Become the Druid Wizard

It was like a whisper or was it just the wind. The voice I just heard, murmur in my ear. I continued working, finally after a long day, I retired to my bed. Was awoken from such a vivid dream. As my eyes opened the dream faded, all but a feeling, then the voice again. “You will embark on a journey across the grid. To find the pieces you need to become the Druid Wizard I seek.” I shook my head then fell fast asleep. I rose the next morning thinking nothing of my dream the night before. Again the voice whispered in my ear. “To Kitty Creations you must go, quickly you must embark on the journey. For in a fortnight’s time I will need you. Look upon the floor and follow the silver gargoyle tracks. They will lead thy to what it is you seek. A miniature charred looking gargoyle which holds your gift.”
Once I found my gift I went to open it. The voice told me nay, you need to find all the piece before you can open the gifts. Off to Lindy the voice sent me to look upon the The Renaissance Hunt poster for the mini gargoyle that harbored my hint. I traveled the grid scaling mountains, across lakes, over vast sims, large oceans, and treacherous passes. To Simply Shelby, Delightful Creations, and Sweet Revolutions. Finally my journey was nearing it’s end. I had gathered all the pieces to which I was sent to find. I opened them in order from the first found to the last.
I donned the leather red hooded jacket and black pants from Kitty Creations. Pulled on the worn red leather Druda shoes from Lindy. I yielded the crystal wizard staff from Simply Shelby. Before I could open the others I was told to enter the dark woods. Travel through them until I saw the mystic fog. Was to follow it, where I came upon a druid rock circle. There I opened my last to gifts. The Spinning Pentagram from Delightful Creations and the Magical Crystal Of Lunimba from Sweet Revolutions.
They seemed to both spring from the boxes and move magically into place at the center of the stone circle. I was drawn onto the pentagram near the Crystal of Lunimba. I held up the staff and my hand. Before I knew it I was chanting the crystal was glowing and magical sparks filled the air. Swirling around me zodiac rune symbols appeared. Out of thin air a mystical pentagram formed in my hand. I had finally become the Druid Wizard to which the voice sought.

You too can embark on your own journey finding magical items of Witches, Wisewomen, and Wizards. That is the theme of this years The Renaissance Hunt X. Spending my Saturdays in, on, or around the water has become my summer go-to. When it’s this hot and sunny out the waves are hard to resist, especially when Blue is able to join me for a day of splashing around in the waves and collecting shells. Pit Stop

ROAD TRIP!!! Well not really, more like a LLllllloooonnnggg drive. Cause these days the car is another place we all feel safe in. To top it off you get a change of scenery and to be outside, for the most part. Have you ever taken a long drive and then pretended you were behind the wheel of another car? Oh! c’mon, you know you have. I myself wish I could be driving and old Hot Rod Roadster, Deuce Coupe hot rod, Ford Mustang, Mercury coupe. Get behind the wheel and feel all alpha male like. I think I’d be more like Arnie Cunningham to be honest.

Alpha Male isn’t all bad. This outfit I have on comes from a store named Alpha Male. I had no idea this store even existed. Until I was opening old Second Life Birthday gifts from last year. Yes, yes.. I’m one of those people in Second Life that has an object folder full of stuff you never open and an inventory from hell. That’s a whole other can of worms we need to keep a tight lid on. I decided to see if it was still around. Yes Alpha Male is, the group is free to join, and they have two male gifts out. These gifts include a whole outfit and shoes. With the one I’m wearing I even got these glasses. The outfit it called Nobody But You, it comes with the Two tone gray Jersey with a tiger design on the front. These leather looking Rogue pants. It also comes with some black leather gold chain sneaker/boot type shoes. Which aren’t pictured, because they only come in Slink. You can make them fit if you alpha your feet. All in all not a bad haul: two complete outfits for free. That doesn’t often happen for guys in Second Life. So ladies grab your guy and point him in this direction. If you do ladies, this store is in the same location as their counter part. Alpha Female and they have gifts too. Guys that are reading this, stop by Alpha Male and check these gifts out. They even have a lucky letter board for the men.
