Rats

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to a city with a subway IRL, but in SL I know how the subway works, and there are always rats.  Big rats, red eyes, coming to eat my ankles.  Now, I’ve got nothing against rats, most of them are cute and sweet and love to snuggle.  A subway rat though, is a whole different breed, and a man must come prepared.

Rat-i-tude

Lucky for me, Aline posted this great tactical vest in Fab Finds, so prepared I am.  It’s a group gift over at VOIDRIP and the group is free to join.  It comes in black, alpha included and it’s rigged for:

Get Up, Stand Up

Well Fabs, I’m back, in all my peace, love and freeness!  I was so excited to watch this jacket in it’s WIP on Flickr and it was released as a free gift yesterday.  I’m such a Hitogata fangirl.

Simply groovy!

I talk all the time about how I’m actually an older soul of a 60s revolutionary in my younger RL body, I wasn’t alive during the “Make Love, Not War” revolution, but it seems we’re due for another.  You can see why this free gift was right up my alley for blogging though!

This is the Samui Hoodie from Hitogata and (hear me out) it’s only rigged for Legacy Perky.  That being said, it comes with an alpha, and here I am wearing it on my Lara X.  This gift is a dream for people who love to mod clothes, she’s included a kit to mod your own sayings on the sleeves, and graphics on the jacket.  It has a fatpack hud of solids and designs, and also has a tinting hud for 8 different parts of the jacket.  Did I mention it’s free? 😉   (Tips are appreciated tho!)

If you’ve read the blog anytime over the past year or so, you may have recognized I love to do silly and fun blog posts whenever I can 😉  The Kostaco Square Piece Of My Heart Hunt brought me that opportunity this week!

This was a fun little hunt that will only set you back 3L per hunt prize!  I TP’d over to Kostaco Square and upon landing, there’s a sign that will give you a notecard with all of the pictures of the prizes, the landmarks of where you can find them, and hints.  Of course I ran right over to Let’s Get Weird, cuz let’s face it, this store was kind of made for me 😉   You have to hunt down the frosted heart cookies to get your prize, and that’s exactly what I did.  I came home with a bucket hat (not shown), some gorgeous BOM tights (in 12 different colors) and this hilarious sweatshirt!  This prize is unisex, because it comes in all these sizes!

Junk Food Junkie

I can’t really think of much junk food I won’t eat, unless it’s something like a deep fried pickle.  I’m no friend to pickles, although Aline and I might have to fight about it.  That being said, bring on all the rest of the fair food, the funnel cakes and elephant ears, the deep friend oreos and twinkies, the corndogs and onion rings, man, have I made myself hungry.

Oops, pardon me.  This post isn’t really about the junk food I’m holding, or the food stand behind me, it’s to show off the new revamped gift section over at [ADD].  She generally puts out a new gift every month, but never puts the old ones up, you have to get it when it’s released you miss it forever!  However, she just updated the offerings with some of her old group gifts, and she’s even updated *some* of those to Lara X.  On the front of the wall is the monthly group gift, the back of the wall has the older gifts now.  I’m wearing 2 of them today.  We’ll start with my hoodie sweater, that I LOVE.  It’s fuzzy and has a hood and is bright yellow and comes sized for:

Yo!  I got a mix of free gifts to show you guys today, and even got a little make over in the process, so let’s start there!

Make Me Over

*** I typed this post 3 days ago and metaHumano was free, and there was a male and female skin available as a group gift.  They’ve since moved, and put out more skin gifts, but also created a VIP group which is 300L to join.  The SLURLS are updated as is the cost in the credits.   Apologies. ***

MetaHumano was a new to me skin store I learned about over the holidays when Lelutka did their 12 days of Christmas gifting event.  I’ve been in the group ever since, but admittedly hadn’t tried their group gift skin until now.  Crazy old me, cuz this skin is fantastic.  The Pablo skin has some Hispanic flair, as does the facial hair I’m wearing that’s included with the gift, but as you can see, I could also be very Roman, just look at that nose 😉   MetaHumano is free to join and they make female skin as well, and there’s a group gift available for each body type right now.

I didn’t stop there, though.  I was helping someone in chat find some free hairbases and came across the motherload, and some of them can be used with female bodies also.  Head over to Eaglelux, and join the group for free and pick them up.  There’s also a really cool shaved base that would look great for both sexes!  This one I’m wearing today is the Tristan hairbase, a great short look.

Dress Me Up
