Today is Mardi Gras in New Orleans. It’s a huge celebration of fun, family, and friends. One in which you can toss your cares away and you get ready to repent and fast for the forty days of Lent which ends on the Christian holiday of Easter. A plethora of sometimes confusing information resides in the web. Over the eons the fasting period has changed for many. Now most folks come to New Orleans to party on down! I prefer to sit at home and watch the madness on TV.

Get Ready to Partay!

I wanted to find something Mardi Gras-ish to show you. I perused the sales ads for today’s sales and found all kinds of things! WooT! One of the fun parts of Mardi Gras is masking and dressing in costume, the more elaborate or skimpy the better. I do confess that I wore a few of the skimpier costumes in real life over the years, Today I have a mix & match look from several different stores.

My sexy Elven Corpo Top and boots are a steal from Scarlet Fey. Each costs $25L for the 25L Tuesday sale.  Both the top & boots are sized for Legacy and Maitreya. The top also includes a pair of bracers which are not shown.

Then I saw this fantastic skin on sale. Amazonian can be found at dae Boutique for $25L, It is a full body BOM skin with fantastic details on the face designed to fit the Lelutka EvoX Raven head. It is stunning! I don’t do roleplay but i might wear this one for a bit because it is so beautiful!

Hair!! I spend a lot of time cultivating and growing my hair folder. I rarely pass up any sales on hair. No_Match, one of my all time favorites has placed the No_Party style on sale for Hello Tuesday. I was pleasantly surprised to find it marked down to $50L  Each color pack is $25L.Note: The sale is only available at the Cosmopolitan sim.

For the pose lovers I found several poses and pose packs in today’s 25L Tuesday offerings. My top photo’s pose comes from Reina Photography, a store I often frequent. The {RP} Pole Dancer Scene 1 seemed perfect for a Mardi Gras shoot.  The poster behind me is an older one resting in my inventory for many years. The Mardi Gras poster Fatma that I do not remember where it came from.  I want to briefly share a tidbit about poles during Mardi Gras. Greasing of the Poles is considered by many to be the French Quarter’s official kickoff to Mardi Gras weekend. The Royal Sonesta New Orleans originated the ritual of greasing the building’s support poles as a practical means to deter overzealous revelers from shimmying up to the coveted balcony space. It also makes it extremely difficult to do a pole dance!

Hi There Bud!




I hope your new year is treating you kindly. I have had one minor disaster after another since January 1st! But I’m still kicking in spite of wanting to kick something or someone. Let me give you an example. I somehow locked my cell phone and couldn’t remember my pin, I drove to the local cell phone provider’s store. I explained to the chick at the counter what had happened. Her response was “You need to call Samsung.” This was followed by me exclaiming loudly, “What part of this do you not understand? I can’t use my phone at all now.” And so it went until her co-worker told her to call Samsung on the landline and let me talk to someone. Thank you for having someone with a brain that works cell phone carrier.

Supa-Sexy at a Great Price!

I can always count on something daring or delectable from Telsiope’s Couture. I quickly became a fan after learning about the store in a FabFree hunt. The latest free FabFree group gift is the Doro outfit. It reminded me of a really cool biker chick look. The revealing top and tight pants fit me like a glove. It might be a wee bit too chilly to ride a bike while wearing Doro. I don’t care because I look super fabulous in it and so will you! Doro is sized for: Belleza Freya, Maitreya, SLink Hourglass, and Legacy. Breaking news from the store: Sitlan placed a “booty win” on the third floor. Bring or teleport four of your friends with you and have a seat to get the “booty”; which is currently the Alice dress.

A couple of days ago I wandered over to Pure Poison and joined the store group. It is free to join for now, There are oodles of group gifts for you to grab. It’s another one of the long-lived stores in SL that has evolved over the years. Once you join the Pure Poison group you can pick up all of the group gifts. Your haul will include tons of jewelry, several pair of shoes, and one set each of lingerie and a bikini. Today I’m wearing the Boho Time Necklace.

It’s the start of a New Year. Yes, indeed. Time to hit the gym to shed a few pounds, and tone up some sexy muscles. I made it to the gym today but watching all those men behind me work out & sweat (not the stinky kind) made me pretty darn thirsty. I couldn’t even think of exercising until I hydrate. Do I get points for just standing here looking fab?

Okay, some might say my fine looking earrings are a bit much for the gym. I say hey, I have to look fab wherever I roam. The Mahogany Store has the Crystal earrings I wearing set out as a free gift at Designer Showcase. They remind of the old “bling” jewelry back in the old days of SL. They aren’t as primmy as the old ones so you can wear them knowing with confidence that you won’t crash a sim. Do you know that the owner & creator for the Mahogany Store started her SL life as a singer? Not only is she a fine performer, she’s a pretty awesome creator.

It’s a Late New Year Greeting

Hail to the New Year! Wow, time flies in Second Life. I should know as I’ve been here for eons. However, I didn’t come with the grid like a few of my “old” friends. I hope 2023 treats you kindly and that you stay safe/healthy in both lives. I much prefer to celebrate in SL. My cat would rather not be exposed to the fireworks noises. He did watch one of the pretty ones explode until it got too noisy.
