The Sound Of Winter

Beachy recently blamed credited me for jumping right into Valentine’s Day, but I haven’t dressed like a bunny rabbit this season…yet. So who’s really skipping holidays here? 🤣 Actually today I’ve regressed a bit and I’m falling right back into colder weather and Advent Calendars! Oh what fun.

Yes, Really

I really am back with another Advent Calendar, and so much more. I had a smashing good time at Gold Square. The sim is lovely so I stayed to take my photograph there, and it’s always nice to wander somewhere pretty. But Gold Square has a lot more to offer than just a pretty sim. Let me count the ways:

1. The group is only 1L to join. That’s like, practically free. From looking back on the blog here, it seems that the group join fee at Gold Square does fluctuate a bit, and 1L is a steal. This is definitely a “join the group and stay in it” type of situation.
2. The Advent Calendar is still up outside in the center of the sim! All of the prizes are available and free, plus some bonus prizes up through what would be day 31. You can go right now and get every Advent gift at Gold Square for free if you want to, and why wouldn’t you want to? One of the free Advent gifts is the outfit that I’ve got on. Between the fur and the hat and that shine, I’m dead. The fur for each bit, gloves, dress, and hat are all separate pieces but I want them all at once, please and thank you. It comes sizes for GenX Classic & Curvy, Kupra, Khara, Maitreya, and Legacy There are lots of other great Advent gifts to pick up as well.
3. Gold Square has an entire building of free group gifts. Just look for the building that says #GIFTS on it. There are lucky chairs and lots of gifts including lots of clothes but also shapes and AOs. My pose is from one of the free group gift AOs. It’s really great with nice natural stands and not too flouncy.

UPDATE:  Looks like the group price has been raised to 149L since this post was published – still a great deal!

Yup, Gold Square is definitely a GOLD mine of great finds. Sorry. I’ll see myself out.

I’ve Got My Little Black Dress, Do You?

I’ve got a LBD on (little black dress). Everyone needs at least one or as the case of some of us, many. You know who you are, my fellow collectors. So here’s a little quickie about a couple of event gifts.

The Magical Winter Hunt Fair & Hunt 3 is in full swing. It’s another hunt that benefits Harambee Gwassi. Each prize costs $3L. There is also the fair. Both events will end on January 15th so don’t wait too long. Most  booths have free gifts, hunt prizes, or both! I Love Lida (ILL) has a $3L prize in the booth – this stunning black dress. It’s a simple, classic look so it’s a keeper for those LBD emergencies. The Donatella dress comes only in black with a dark red belt encircling the waist.

Happy 13th Anniversary Designer Showcase!

It’s hard to understand that I’ve been in Second Life for longer than the Designer Showcase has been around! *Mind blown* There are 10 – 11 free gifts you can pick up by joining the free event group. One of those gifts are the heels I’m wearing today, courtesy of Black Angel. The Louise heels include a color change hud. They are sized for: Belleza, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, and SLink. Note, the event runs until January 25th.

Finishing Touches

My ring is yet another free gift. It’s from day 22 of the Jumo Advent Calendar. I have no way of knowing when the free gifts will disappear so hurry over and grab the free gifts in the courtyard. The Illena set consists of the ring and earrings (not shown). It’s a very pretty ring that you can change some of the rings features with the included hud.

Of course there is hair!! Mina has set the free SL F&O group gift, Alexa. Just join the free group and click on the package by the group joiner sign. There is an essential colors hud in the package and there is only the one style.

Looks Like A Cold, Cold Winter

Hey, how’s YOUR weather?  I mean, mine has been hurricane level insanity without the cold, but the rest of the States have been having a crazy winter storm!  I just knew it was too early to be showing off cute little pink dresses while the weather rages outside!

Stay Cozy

Thankfully, Gabriel has a gorgeous winter coat for both men and women free as a group gift this month!  It fits perfectly and keeps me nice and toasty (even if IRL I have my air conditioning on while the rest of the country freezes.)  Now, I personally like to consider all fluffy stuff in SL FAUX fur, because I would never wear real fur IRL – but this coat is the nicest ‘faux’ suede and lambs wool around.  It comes in 6 or so colors (no hud)  and also a turtleneck and a tank top for underneath in both white and black.  Of course I had to blog it because it’s rigged for both male and female bodies:

I know people who live in cold climates are usually ready to pack up all the frigid temps and snow after the holidays – but winter never parts so easily or quickly.  If you have to suffer in the cold, at least you’ll look super cute while you do so!
