Nostalgia.
Things disappear in Second Life really quickly don’t they? I was going through my landmarks folder and discovered that some of the places that I used to visit have either changed drastically or are altogether gone. It was a bit of a relief to discover that Ice Dreams and the picturesque boardwalk that it’s standing on is still there. The Baja Norte sim was one of the very first sims I visited when I rezzed and I still remember trying to figure out how camera angles and windlight settings worked right in front of this little ice cream stall. Those attempts have long been bined (why I thought neon, drop waist medieval gowns were a good idea is beyond me) though I think that the results of my second attempt could certainly be a keeper.
Here are the details;
All it takes is an inspiring hat,
Being on a bit (loosely putting it) of a hat binge recently, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the updated Fabulously Free In SL group gift from Belle Epoque was a simple yet elegant straw hat. It was as if I couldn’t get it out of the box fast enough, oohing and ahhing all the way at its pretty textures and the white ribbon detailing around its crown. It added a nicely feminine touch especially when paired together with the green leaves and lovely white carnations that sit on one side of the hat’s brim. To get a little bit more technical about things, the hat comes with a nifty resizer script and permissions are set to copy so that you can make as many backups as you want.
Well, it looks like I’m ready to keep the sun out of my eyes this upcoming Spring; and all for free too as there is no cost to join the Fabulously Free in SL group. Just wear your group tag when clicking on the vendor and you’ll be good to go. Still hazy on how to join the group? Visit this page {HERE} and take a step closer to collecting all the free gifts that we have on our listing.
A generous gift card,
Last Friday, Pru did a post about FabFree Designer Ollie’s Follies and my curiosity was piqued when I saw that they were offering a 100L gift card on their midnight mania board. She went on to detail that a group tag was not needed to smack the board and with a very low goal (10!) to lock the it, I couldn’t resist popping down to give it a tap as well. With my free gift card in hand I explored Ollie’s Follies further and found not a few things that caught my fancy. Foremost was the Lysa dress which comes in an array of colors and prints (pictured is the pale blossom color). The style of the dress, with it’s V-shaped neckline and belted waist went quite nicely with Belle Epoque’s Straw Hat and the girly look I was going for. The Lysa dress comes in five standard mesh sizes, though there are sizes for mesh bodies sold separately at the store as well, with a good alpha layer included. Usually this classic little number is priced at 150L though with my gift card activated I ended up only forking out 50L for it which was just wonderful. While you’re there at Ollie’s Follies don’t forget to grab your Fabulously Free in SL group gift as well!
Great weekly deals,
It’s 50 Linden Fridays again! There’s a great group of designers for this round that will surely leave you spoiled for choice. I’ve never missed on getting a hair pack from Wasabi Pills every time they participate in 50 Linden Fridays and this week was no different. The side swept Olivia hairstyle was a great whimsical fit to today’s outfit and comes with a Hud of 7 varied colors to choose from.
The second item I picked up from this week’s 50 Linden Fridays was the Kismet socks from Luxuria. These delicate over the knee socks with its pretty lace fringe comes in eight solid colors (white shown in picture) and can be used by most avatars as it comes in the following sizes:
- System layer for classic avatars
- Appliers for Maitreya, Slink and mesh bodies compatible with the omega system.
If you’d like either item for your virtual inventory, it’s highly recommended that you do so quickly as these deals are available for Friday only.
And a ton of likes.
Remember those heels from Essenz that I blogged about a couple of days ago (hint hint)? Well, since achieving 2500 likes on Facebook, the store is giving away a set of the Paris heels in neutral colors for free! While I already own the shoes in those lovely pink shades, it’s pretty great to receive additional colors for it. The gift package includes sizes for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink mesh feet with a shoe base to help with the fitting. There’s also an easy to use Hud which lets you switch between three colors for the main body of the shoe as well as its sole and fittings. Congratulations Essenz! Hurry down to the store to grab your pair today as these heels are only available until the 19th.
And that’s a wrap. The sun’s going down on Baja Norte and I should go and see if those walruses in the distance would like to share an ice cream cone or four with me. Catch you later and have fun out there guys!
