Only in SL do I ever look so cold and cozy at the same time. In RL, I’m just cold.

Christmas sure is an especially generous time in SL. It’s quite heartwarming. Today I’m sharing my spoils from HW Winterland. I loooove these events so much. Aline gave you all the deets when it opened, but it’s still going strong, full of bargains and gifts. The free gifts are in stockings, hung from the booths. The Access Updates group is required to collect them, and that group is free to join. Today for my festive cozy look, the free items that I’m wearing from HW Winterland are:

• Free bag of pine but I’m not entirely sure who the creator is because it came as just the object called “24. Pine Bag Paper” – is it a creator named 24. that I can’t find in search because it’s too short? Is it just not labeled and this a mystery? I don’t know, but it sure is cute

This is one of those moments where I knew I needed this outfit.  I felt it in my bones.  And boy am I glad I won it!

The Arcade is Back

Now that Gacha is allowed again in SL, the premier Gacha event –  The Arcade –  is back and in full form this month!   I am always very judicious when I play gacha, setting myself a limit and really playing each machine just a few times until I get several pieces to play around with.  That’s exactly what I did with this set by Mug, but boy was I in NEED of this boa.  I was quite lucky and won both the dress and boa with a few pulls of 75L each.  However, if you don’t really feel like trying your luck, you can also go to Marketplace, search for “Mug Santa Baby” and see what resellers have put up.  There are some very reasonable prices, some I saw at 150L – but this is just an alternative if you REALLY need to get the items instead of leaving it up to chance.

I All I Want For Christmas Is Used

You guys know how much I love picking antique shops, salvage yards and flea markets.  There’s nothing I love more than an item that’s been upcycled or reused.  My outfit included!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We humans consume so much, and here in the U.S. it’s non-stop advertising to BUY BUY BUY!  I’m quite sure that’s where my love of upcycling comes from, a visceral reaction against all the consumption.  Well, that and picking salvage yards with my Dad in NYC as a kid, there were so many cool things there!

I was excited to see Freda in the Holiday Shop & Hop and then I couldn’t believe it when I put on her gift to find it’s upcycled!  Pieces of different textures put together to make a new outfit is right up my alley.  I have a bunch of other cool free gifts I got at S&H to show you too.
