I’m a Disney girl, in a Disney world ….. oh, wrong song.  Although, you really can’t go wrong at Walt Disney World, or Epcot, or Disney Land or any Disney destination.  This Florida girl practically grew up at Disney, although it’s a few hours away.  Every time I’ve described a Disney park or hotel or restaurant to someone, the word I’ve always used was QUALITY.

Well, today, I’m showing you a Disney themed gift that certainly qualifies under that term, this Steamboat Willie avatar from BeSpoke is pure quality.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there!

You may or may not be aware that the Disney copyright on Steamboat Willie has finally expired, after 95 years, and it’s now in the public domain.  95 years!  It appears BeSpoke wasted no time jumping on that and bringing us this amazing avatar!

This avatar is the newest group gift for FabFree for We ♥ RP.  When you land there’s some stone signs in a circle, and you can find the avatar next to the pretty FabFree sign on one of the stone displays.  You need the Fabulously Free In SL tag to get it, which, of course, is free to join.  This avatar comes with everything you need!

It has the avatar and head in SLUV  and EVOX, skin in SLUV and EVOX, ear skin, an unrigged hat, the shape and the clothes!  As an added bonus, there’s 2 animations in the folder, to blink your eyes and talk.  I’m really very impressed with this gift.  So generous of BeSpoke.

The other incredibly generous part of this gift?  It includes the DevKit for free!  There’s a notecard inside that explains how to access it.  Get creative!

Happiest Place On Earth

Where else would I go to take a picture in a Steamboat Willie avatar?  Wedcot, of course!  Wedcot is a Second Life replication of some of the areas of Epcot.  It’s really quite fun and amazing and a lot like the park, you’ll see if you’ve been to Epcot before.  There’s usually a few different things happening there to explore.  There’s currently some food and wine festival vendors set up where you can get free gifts.  I got this cute Mickey burger at the stall from Junkfood.  There’s also something called ‘Kidcot’ which has gifts for kids at all of the different countries at Wedcot.  Then, to top it off, Wedcot has a group that’s free to join and some Disney themed group gifts!  They are in a booth near the entrance and it’s where i got these sunflower ears.  These come with and without a bow, there’s also lanyard and a t-shirt and cookbook!

I don’t want anyone to miss out on these amazing gifts, so run and get them 😉  I hope to bump into a ton of Steamboat Willies across the grid (nope, that doesn’t sound right! lol)

Hi Fabulous readers!  I don’t really mean to be scaring you with my big ol’ mug but I have important business to talk about!

I have some free and almost free things I wanted to show you, and the free gift is very dear to my ♥ heart ♥.  There’s a member of the SL community that needs some help, and the BeSpoke/Arkivet store is stepping up to help in a BIG WAY.  They’re holding a fundraiser.  You can read all about the fundraiser on the FLICKR PAGE HERE.  They are hoping to raise 500K lindens, and if they do, they’ll release a free fantasy head!  Not just that, but if you make any donation, you can also get these awesome Crooked Bough horns for free!  They come with a color hud to change the tone of the wood and they’re unrigged.  All you need to do is stop over at the donation center and put a little or a lot of something in the box.  Please take a minute to read about the fundraiser before you go, and see if you can help.  I absolutely adore our Second Life community, we never fail to help those who need us the most.

The second thing I wanted to show you today are my new ears!  Andore has come out with one set of ears that you never need to change!  There’s a hud that lets you choose between human/gauged/pixie/gauged/elf/gauged or mix and match all of the above between your right and left ears.  They are BOM enabled and no extra skin is needed.  The pixie and elf ears have animations too!

FREE Mesh Heads!

… That’s right! Two free mesh bento heads are being offered on the mini Hunt from Be Spoke.  One for guys and one for girls. Both heads come with full shapes and AOs so it’s really more like getting a full free Avi!  The Hunt is being held on the RP Fantasy world of Astrium. It’s a beautifully decorated SIM so be sure to do some sight seeing.

 

The catch is the Hunt only runs until 5pm SLT May 3rd! That’s just 24 hours from now!

You are searching for little boxes with a picture of the head or the skin on it. The pics above are from the boxes I found. Oh yes, I said skins too.  All in all there are two heads and seven skins to be found. But be warned… some of them are very well hidden and there are no clues. 

However, if you join the free Astrium group you’ll find a notecard in the past notices with 9 landmarks that will take you to the immediate area of each prize.

Yule Review

Good evening, FabFree. I know I rather don’t look like myself this evening but I had to take advantage of the remarkable new free mesh head available at Bespoke. I don’t often get the pleasure of seeing such high quality accessories coming around for the men of Second Life so I grasped this opportunity with some excitement.

This is the “Yule – Elf” head from Bespoke as I said and you can pick it up for free along with four different colored skins at the mainstore. The head comes with two shapes, one male and one female. Both are very well made as are the skins. Yule also includes:
• BoM Head/Body skin “Wood”
• Rigged eyes, eyelashes, mouth
• 6 eye colors
• AO HUD
• Eyebrow Tattoos (BoM)

I can honestly say I like this head and the shape that comes with it. The shape is not simply a handsome human with pointy ears. The shape and proportions of both head and body are very ‘other’. That said, the head responds fully to the slider system and can be made into your preferred shape easily. I left the shape untouched except for two things. I did make the head to body ratio slightly larger and I made the hands slightly smaller.  Simply personal preference, I would consider this head and shape ready to use ‘right out of the box’.

I did encounter a few minor issues. I felt the eyes did not fit inside the sockets well. They clipped a bit at the corners. However this could easily be changed or tweeked. It didn’t help that I wasn’t 100% happy with the colors of eyes offered but that is purely a personal preference and no bad mark against Bespoke. The other issue I had was the AO. The AO runs through a menu that I felt was a bit clunky. The animations were well done but a bit inconvenient to access. All said, I would not consider any of this a reason to not get this head and enjoy it’s use.

I want to say something about the skins both included and the four extra skins available. These are simply some of the best skins I have encountered in Second Life. They are truly astonishing. The details are both subtle and gorgeous. Even if you decide not to use them with the Yule head they are a stunning addition to your wardrobe.

I am uncertain as to how long the Yule head and the skins will be available but it is described as a “Season’s Gift”. If you would like to get this excellent elfin head and skins don’t delay.
