The Fifth Day of Christmas

The year may be wrapping up, but let me remind you (as I do every year) that Christmas continues!  Today is the 5th day of Christmas (no, the 12 days are NOT before Xmas, but after!) and so I think we should continue the celebrations and bring good cheer.  And that is exactly what you see me doing today.

Palasades Park

When I was young, one of the things we did on cool nights was go explore this amazing abandoned hotel.  It was owned by John Ringling (of Ringling Circus fame) and had all this incredible architecture.  As always happens, the money moves in and buys up everything cool and fun and paves paradise for the other monied interests and the unique and awesome history disappears.

To my amusement (heh, see what I did there?) I found an abandoned theme park in Second Life to recreate this bit of fun!

Abandonment issues?

I was just looking forward to wearing all my warm sweaters and fluffy coats, and then, like a bad penny, the warm humid air came back descended on me.  Blergh.   Well, when a girl needs to stay inside so her hair doesn’t frizz and her make up doesn’t run, she stays in the air conditioning and goes shopping.  Lucky for me, I had 500L to spend at Carol’s Store!  Even luckier, Carol’s Store has a good variety of items sized for Lara X already, and I had choices!  Carol’s Store has a 500L gift card available for all group members as a Christmas gift, and I’m already in the group, so technically this sweater was free 😉   You MUST HURRY.  The gift card is only available until December 31st!  As an added bonus, it’s only 10L to join the group!  I bought this lightweight sweater, it’s warm but not sweat your ta-tas off warm – and perfect for a ‘winter’ evening exploring an abandoned amusement park.

Shoot for the moon!

Since I was headed to an abandoned atomic theme park from the 50’s why not add this beautiful Luna set I got from Heartsdale Jewelry?  A lot of focus in the mid 20th century on getting to the moon, space travel and science.  It’s not called the Atomic age for nothin’!  Heartsdale Jewelry was so very generous this holiday season, and there’s a load of different pieces of jewelry and sets of jewelry under the Christmas tree in their courtyard for free.  No group is needed, just buy for 0L and take it home with you.  The Luna Set comes with the necklace and earrings, and has a color hud for the gems and the metal.

Lay Like This Forever

It’s that funny in between time, the week between Christmas and New Year’s when time gets wonky. A week that still contains parties and presents, but also vegging out and getting things sorted. I was genuinely surprised to see the Fifty Linden Friday list up on Seraphim this morning, that’s how out of it my concept of time currently is. But FLF is one of my favorites, and Glam Affair and Off-Line definitely knew just what I needed on a day such as today.

Laying Around

Does this picture look weird? I’m supposed to be like zoned out watching a movie or something. If I look dead or passed out, that was not my intention. lol Hopefully I’ve just been staring at it too long and you can just appreciate the pretty things I’ve gathered. Both for 50L from FLF I have:

• A new skin from Glam Affair, which always produces a happy little squee. 50L got me the fatpack of colors (I always wear the Beige with my Sienna body and I think it blends well) and some makeup options. She’s adorable and freckled with the cutest lips. Do go and grab a demo.
