Well, although we had a major cold front last week, looks like it’s going to back to warm here at least through Thanksgiving.  I’m back to RPing winter in SL.  Fortunately, the new Enchantment Hunt theme is Frostbitten, and I brought home a bunch of cool things for free 😉

The song for this blog post was pretty clear, it’s written all over my dress.  My son told me I should pick some other random song from Top Gun just to mess with you all, but this song is very very much stuck in my head, and this is my only chance to rid myself of it.

Salvage

Anything with the word ‘salvage’ in the title is my kind of thing.  I grew up picking salvage yards and antique stores and I’ve never stopped.  I love, love, love things we can reuse from an older time into the modern world.   In today’s case, it’s a shopping event put on by Second Life Syndicate, featuring goodies for a post-apocalyptic world called Salvage Station.

In true SLS fashion, there’s some free gifts scattered throughout the event.  I came home with quite a few:

• Free Signs (Static, or the Bonk version for Porta 😉 )

Salvage Station is open until November 30th, plenty of time to get shopping for the world we may just end up living in one day.

I collect a lot of witchy stuff in SL, lots of it I wish I had in RL!  I saw such an item in the hunt at Hallow Manor and set out to find it.  It wasn’t easy.

Twisted

Juniper Events is describing this hunt as twisted, but we already have a twisted hunt!  I simply don’t have time this year for another super difficult hunt, and I have to warn you, this one is.  There are some prizes that are great though, and I just had to find this witch’s robe from Fuayu, because I love everything she makes.  It’s sized only for Lara X but because it’s full coverage, it should fit almost everyone if you have a body alpha!  It’s 10L and I will wear this every year during October for sure. and wish I could wear it IRL.

The Hallow Manor hunt has virtually no info about it anywhere, but I joined the Juniper Events group and asked a lot of questions, so I’ll share that info with you.

You are hunting for a small black cube.  It could fit in the palm of your avatar’s hand.  The cubes are located in the area behind the shopping event, in the neighborhood and in the landscaping.  They’re not easy to find, not easy at all.  I think most of them are 10L but some of them are probably free.  If you have time and patience a lot of the hunt objects sure seem worth it.  You can look at the prizes on their guide HERE.

Hallow Manor is open until November 3rd and no group is needed to hunt.  You may want to join the Juniper Events group if you’re hunting though! Good luck out there Fabs!

I almost missed this one Fabs, and it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. It’s time for I Pink I Can, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. October is breast cancer awareness month, and I lost my best friend to breast cancer, so anytime I can honor her in any way I find, I’m in.

Hunting for a cure

I Pink I Can is a huge shopping event with proceeds going toward breast cancer research. In addition to the shopping and events, and donation kiosks, there’s also a hunt called the Hellfire Hunt that has paid prizes where the money will be donated. Thanks, Cole, for getting me to this hunt! There is a hud you can pick up on the wall with some of the keys to the hunt on it, and I spied the cutest outfit I wanted. I went in search of the letters IPIC and bought 3 pieces for 50L each. This is what I got:
