Well Fabbies, Purplemoon has done it again.  Poulet has created the loveliest floral gown, with a little sparkle, and it’s a new group gift!

This gift was released last week for Mother’s Day.  It has a lovely watercolor inspired texture on the skirt, in the pattern of carnations, and I learned something!

Mother’s Day Origins

Activist Anna Jarvis organized a local Mother’s Day celebration in 1908 in West Virginia in honor of mothers and their sacrifices. Jarvis then worked to make it known as a nationwide holiday, and in 1914, Mother’s Day was officially recognized as a national holiday by President Woodrow Wilson.  Jarvis and her mother were known to have a white carnation garden at their home in Philadelphia. In honor of her late mother, “she distributed 500 carnations at the first official [Mother’s Day] service because they were her mother’s favorite flower.” (citation HERE)

And that’s how the carnation became to be a symbol of Mothers Day, at least in the U.S. Cool!

Honestly though

I have been waiting for the right piece to wear this hair from Moon Rabbit that Aline blogged HERE.  I couldn’t have found a better gown.
