The Get Crabby Hunt!

I’ve been having lots of fun this month blogging the Spoonful of Sugar Festival. You can see my past posts on this complex and huge event here and here. Today I’m introducing you to another aspect of this event. On top of the main event, they have a hunt going on, which takes place at Get Crabby Hunt Island. As you explore the Sim, the hunt object you are looking for is a crab! This is a paid hunt, and a group join fee is required to participate in it. The group costs 500L to join. Pictures of all the Get Crabby Hunt prizes are posted on their hunt web page HERE. You will see group joiners for the hunt group at Get Crabby Hunt Island. You can also pick up a crab plushie and crab hats as a group gift there as well if you decide to join the hunt group. Here is the link to the hunt group to join if you have trouble finding it. Again, be warned that the group costs 500L to join.

Note that 100% of the funds that are spent towards the Get Crabby Hunt are being donated to Doctors Without Borders, and the designers do not make any profits from this hunt. It’s very kind of the creators out there to make all those products and to put them up for a benefit. Sometimes we don’t recognize how hard creators work to give us gifts, but to go the extra mile to donate beautiful products to a fundraiser that gives back to society shows how incredible the creative community in Second Life is. Doctors Without Borders is an organization that provides medical care to people around the world as a result of war, conflicts, and other crises. The Spoonful of Sugar Festival donated over 100, 000 real-life American dollars from this event in the last 7 years, and I hope these donations can help those in need around the world this year too! The Get Crabby Hunt ends on September 18th, so if you plan to do this hunt make sure you get to it well before this date so you have time to find all the prizes.

I am showing two hunt prizes from the Get Crabby Hunt and another 10L find from the Spoonful of Sugar Festival today as featured items, so keep reading for all the details!

Do you Love to Mix & Match?

First off, the fabulous outfit I have on is an absolute must-have! This is the Get Crabby Hunt prize from MOoH!. This outfit includes a bikini top, a skirt and bikini bottoms (which are worn under my skirt). This is a versatile set because you can wear it as a bikini, a full outfit or separates. The outfit comes with a number of funky patterns you can apply to the separate parts via a colour change HUD, so mixing and matching is possible. Plain classic colours that are included in the hud are red, white, light violet, dark plum and pink. Pattern options include florals, skulls, a dragon pattern (shown here) and some other fun patterns. You can see the possibilities of mixing and matching the texture options in this outfit in the vendor photo below.

Pineapple, Bora Bora

The second hunt prize I am featuring is a wonderful painting of a pineapple made by Katherine Littlepaws, who owns Katharine Littlepaws Art Gallery. This painting is just fantastic- it looks so realistic, colourful and expressive! The background is fantastic with the collage elements the artist has included. This is a prize on the Get Crabby Hunt.

Katharine Littlepaws Art Gallery also has another painting on a special promotion for only 10 Lindens at their Spoonful of Sugar Festival booth. The get to the exact spot where you can grab the painting, go  here. The item on sale for this low price is the small colourful painting shown in my photo on top of the pineapple piece. Note that this smaller painting is not part of the hunt, so anyone can purchase it and no group is required to buy it for 10L. 100% of the proceeds spent on this painting are given to Doctors Without Borders.
