I am back with a bit more fun from the Swank Pumpkin Hunt! This is a hunt going on at the Swank Event and it is so much fun, so many great designers with goodies! The hunt is free, and although you are required to join the Swank group, that is free as well.
This time I have a super cute outfit from Brii Underground! This is a complete outfit, cute hat and everything, that is a hunt giftie at Swank. This is a fit for Maitreya only, but golly it’s cute! (yes, I said golly.) Since it is so cute, this, as you can see, is *not* one of my scary posts. Thought y’all could use a break! Don’t worry, I have more in the wings! You will just have to wait and see!

One of our readers contacted me with a tip. She said she found a place with lots of great deals and it would be perfect on Fab Free and gave me the LM. I thought awesome. We can always use more goodies for you guys and I happily went off to check it out. What an awesome treat this was going to be!
However…. all was not as it seemed! Little did I know that this was a trick.
I came to a cute little cottage and thought it must just be a little shop, but the door was locked, so I knocked, but once I did, this sign appeared! The door opened on it’s own and I was pulled inside a pitch dark room, I couldn’t see anything! I only felt cold, foul smelling breath on my neck and something strong had me in its grasp! A deep, gravely voice spoke, much too close to my ear for comfort. “Why have you come here?” I struggled to catch my breath and speak.
“I… I… I only…”
“Speak!” the voice shouted and I felt spittle hit my face in the dark and that foul breath again. I could feel something sharp against my skin.
I was shaking uncontrollably. I forced myself to speak, though barely a whisper came out. “Tr… tr…. trick, or…. orr…. tr”
“What did you say?” It shook me hard and the voice seemed to get angrier every time it spoke. I felt the blood draining from my limbs as the unknown entity held me ever tighter each time.
I knew there was one thing to do and one thing only, so I tried to take a deep a breath as I could, and said as loudly and forcefully as possible “I said… TRICK OR TREAT!”
I felt the ground under my feet start to crumble and I started to lose my footing, the creature was screaming as if in agony, I lost my balance and fell forward onto the broken ground. It was only then I realized the creature (or whatever it was!) had let go, and I ran for where the door had been, my hands fumbled against the wall in the darkness. I felt something thrashing behind me and the screams continuing, I thought surely someone must be able to hear all this noise! Please, please let someone hear and come help me! I was panicked, but I suddenly felt the knob of the door and pulled it open with all my might!
I ran back into the daylight, as fast as my legs could carry me! There were spiders on my face and I tried to brush them off as I ran, I felt scratches I had gotten from the struggle and something, what was it? Something black was oozing out of my mouth! How did that even get there??? What happened to me?!
In my confusion I wasn’t looking where I was running and I stepped off an embankment and lost my footing, I was falling! Autumn colors blurred past my eyes! There was nothing to catch, I was heading for the ground!
And then I woke up! Whew! I hate weird dreams like that!!!

Much like the macabre, though a little less romantic, grotesques have been part of art and architecture for centuries. It’s a theme I’ve always romanticized myself, that concept of finding beauty in that which would otherwise be called ugly. Now, before I get too melancholy in my musings I’ve got some pretties to share with you, one of which is this face tattoo by Nar Mattaru that reads “Grotesque” under my right eye. Alongside my finds at Nar Mattaru, I picked up some group gifts from rotten, and torment via Harajuku. Keep reading and I’ll give you all the what and how of things.
Nar Mattaru
Nar Mattaru has a handful of 10 linden offers in the same spot as their group gifts. These 10 linden finds do not require a group tag to purchase. I picked up the face tattoo that says “Grotesque” under the right eye, and has an almost cute little fly under the left eye. The tattoo comes in BOM layers, and an Omega applier with fresh, normal, and faded options.
Also at Nar Mattaru is this smudgy black eye makeup. This eye shadow look is called the “Effortless Smoky Eye” it too is just 10 linden. The grunge-rock princess part of my personality just couldn’t pass this one up. This eye-makeup comes in a BOM layer, and an Omega applier.

I am kind of in love with this lip gloss from rotten. It’s their current group gift, and the group is free to join. I love when I come across amazing makeup finds. Makeup is my favorite way to customize my look without changing my skin. This free lippie set by rotten includes 6 color choices, each with 4 style/opacity variations. In the package you’ll get BOM layers only. Technically these lip colors were made to be worn on Genus heads, but I think they look fantastic on my Catwa head.

torment
If you head over to the Harajuku event you can pick up these gorgeous earrings for free from torment. They are waiting at the torment booth at the Harajuku event. You will need to be wearing the torment group tag. The torment group is free to join. Then while wearing your torment group tag, click the “gift” sign at torment’s spot at Harajuku. These lovelies come in a black/gold version (shown) and a silver/gold version.

Happy Halloween Fab Free! I feel like October flew by, and I am a bit sad to see it go. Still, there’s Halloween night and plenty more in the coming days to celebrate. It’s rare for me to envision something and then have the ability to manifest what I see in my mind with the tools at my disposal. Death Row Designs and Roawenwood gifted me the ability to really create the sort of diabolical yet romantic scene I had floating around in my imagination. So if this reads like a heartfelt thank you, it’s exactly that. I’ll always be inspired by and grateful for designers who give gifts that are beautifully detailed and thoughtfully made.
Death Row Designs
I’ve always enjoyed the juxtaposition of the beautiful with the horrific. It’s easy to believe something ugly is sinister, but what of something or someone truly stunning? I find it thrilling in story telling to consider that under a lovely façade lies something malevolent. Death Row Designs often embodies this motif, gorgeous “ruined” things. They have three such things as their free October group gifts, and a fourth group gift that I didn’t show in my photo but is in the vendor ad below. There’s a broken and blood-drenched china tea set, a beautiful set of fall décor that includes a shelf with tchotchke and a silver mirror, and lastly a haunting wall lantern hanging from the fingers of a devilish outstretched arm. Roawenwood
I’ve always felt that Roawenwood often has an inkling of darkness to their furnishings. Nothing too wicked, but just dark enough to be alluring. They have a lovely macabre chair and foot-stool set complete with a display ouija board, and drippy candle with darkly romantic red roses and human skull. The furniture itself has a deep purple-blue color, and a texture that makes me think of velour. There’s also a throw blanket over the stool that has gold-like flecks in it. Sometimes there’s no other way to describe a place except to say that it feels homey. I feel that way about this magical little setting I put together with a few of the Fantasy Forest Hunt prizes. The Fantasy Forest Hunt is running through the end of May, so there’s still a bit of time to get hunting. For my witchy woodland setting I picked up the gifts from The Artist Shed, Collect, and Tentacle Experiment. Each prize is just 5 lindens, and you’ll be hunting for a small grouping of mushrooms.

Tentacle Experiment
Tying everything together is the Fantasy Forest Hunt prize at Tentacle Experiment. Also just 5 linden and 5 land impact prims, this FFH prize is full of witchy whimsy. It includes the trio of rocks, broom, books, and animated grass. The grass seems to be subtly waving in the wind, or perhaps it is the magic emanating from the books and broom that causes the grass to dance.
