Here we go, FabFree! It’s Friday and this weekend for me is all RP and Fantasy all day! I’m wandering the Fantasy Faire and doing the Quest and everything. To get warmed up for this magical weekend, I visited ne of my favorite RP stores on the Grid: Cog and Fleur. If you haven’t visited before I highly encourage it. They have lovely RP and Vintage clothes and accessories galore!

There is also an Omega applier for the underthings.  Just wear your group tag and get ready to go to the Ball. The Time Traveler

Time Traveler

Anyone who tells you Time Travel is a science, and not an artform, is a scoundrel. It is and must be both. You need to be able to finesse your way through multiple realities and get the calculations correct. For now, I’m going to slice through the curtain of time and get myself out of this Jurassic nightmare before one of these giant prehistoric lizards decides I might be a delicious meal. Safe travels my fellow voyagers.

The Engine Room

Purely by happenstance I visited the Engine Room event. Lo and behold, it’s an Anniversary round! You guessed it, that means free gifts. Lots and lots of amazing free gifts. The theme is steampunk and the gifts are free with the Second Life Syndicate group tag. The group is free to join. I got all of them, and would have loved to show all of them to you, but that would just be tedious for everyone. Instead, I put together my Time Traveler look using the Engine Room gifts from Eudora3D, Apricot Paws, Wicca’s Originals, Deadly Nightshade, and Lux Aeterna.

Eudora3D

I think this hat from Eudora3D is possibly one of the coolest hats I’ve ever owned, and it’s absolutely free. The Witch Hunter hat is incredibly detailed. It comes with a hud that lets you change the metal parts gold or silver, and adjust the position and size of the hat. You’ll find this freebie waiting for you at the Engine Room event. Don’t forget the Second Life Syndicate tag.

Apricot Paws

My very Victorian-like blouse by Apricot Paws is also free at the Engine Room. It fits beautifully and I love the subtle pinstripes. This shirt comes in a tucked and a not tucked version for multiple wear options. This gift also has a hud that lets you adjust the color of the bow, the buttons, and metal bits.

Sizes Included: Maitreya Lara, Maitreya V-Tech, MeshBody Legacy, MeshBody Legacy Perky

Wicca’s Originals

The Havoc Mask is the free Engine Room Anniversary gift by Wicca’s Originals. This super cool accessory is unisex in that it comes in a male sizes as well as a female size. The details are awesome, and it fit me perfectly, however there are resize scripts in the masks.

Deadly Nightshade

I think this clockwork mechanism halo piece by Deadly Nightshade is so cool. Not only does it look cool with all the great details, it also has moving parts. The pieces attach separately so that they move independent of each other. That also means they can be worn all together or separately. This free Engine Room gift was the initial inspiration for creating a Time Traveling character.

Lux Aeterna

The golden scalpel and scissors by Lux Aeterna together are the first Engine Room gift I unpacked and knew I had to do something with them. They are gorgeous aesthetically, and have a macabre element that I really like. They also have these really awesome bento hold poses, that are just icing on the cake. You’ll find them for free at the Engine Room. Again, don’t forget to join the free Second Life Syndicate group and wear the group tag to get the gifts.

FT Twisted Fall hunt 2015_Victorian Gothic LRThe Twisted Hunt (9/19-10/19) is well under way and although dubbed the hardest hunt on Second Life, the prizes are worth the effort.  Today, I’m showcasing Finishing Touches main hunt gift the Qi Skybox, side hunt items and a corresponding gacha collection.  The skybox and all the furnishings have a modern Victorian Gothic influence in a black, white and grayscale palette….perfect for a sophisticated Halloween.  Victorian Gothic is an architectural style and movement during the mid-late 19th century, often seen as a sub-style of the broader Gothic Revival style.  It is characterized by gothic details, decorative patterns, scallopping, lancet windows and hood moulding.  Architectural elements such as pointed arches, steep-sloping roofs and fancy carvings like lace ant lattice-work were applied to a wide range of Gothic Revival objects.  The movement is all about drama and elegance with lavish interiors, curved ornate furniture and plenty of decorative details.

FT Twisted Fall hunt 2015_Victorian GothicFinishing Touches Qi skybox has a decorative pattern tiled ceiling, tall narrow pointed arched windows, oversized white candle fireplace and white/black wainscoting.  I styled the Victorian living space with the tufted curved black & white sofas, armchairs and stools enhancing the ornate detailed birdcage chandeliers and patterned tapestry wall hangings.  Pops of red, hanging boston ferns, potted palms and framed Victorian silhouette complete the space.

FT Twisted Fall hunt 2015_Gold SkeletonTo commemorate the 11th Twisted Hunt, Finishing Touches is offering a side hunt with eleven gifts that correspond to the gacha collection.  The hunt items include 3 versions of a skirted table, 3 versions of hanging tapestry, couple rugs with pillows, Persian Grey wrinkled rug, box of skulls, pumpkin trio and ceramic vase.  All side hunt gifts can be found in the Twisted Qi skybox (the main Twisted Hunt gift).  Do you love the Qi skybox?  Need to furnish it, then check out the gacha for beautifully twisted coordinating decor priced at $50 per play.  Try your luck at black or white caged chandeliers, shadow box frames, tulip lamps, coffee tables, and tufted stools (see key below).

_FT_ Twisted Gacha Fall 2015Lastly, 24Karat Roux, owner and creator of Finishing Touches is offering the Rolled Arm Couch & Chair in White Leather and Black Leather for 50% off the regular price during the Twisted Hunt.  The couch and chair were designed to coordinate with the Twisted Qi skybox hunt gift and Twisted gacha decor items.  Hope you are inspired to create an elegance spooky gothic Halloween using the Finishing Touches free Twisted hunt gifts.  Happy Hunting!

Taxi to Finishing Touches please…

EB Designs = Spring Goodies

Thank goodness it’s finally the weekend! And what better way to spend this Saturday than… you guessed it! Decorating more of the new house! EB Designs has put a Cart stuffed full of fantastic items for us. Not only décor but also some lovely vintage clothing and things for builders AND landscaping! You can’t ask for much more.
Snapshot_002

There are so many things in EB’s Cart I didn’t know what to show first. SO I pulled out my favorite two things and I’ll let you explore the Cart for more surprises. This is the Victorian Little Glass House – Hydrangea. I love hydrangeas and have my fingers crossed for the bush I planted by my RL porch last fall. But if that one doesn’t bloom: I have these!

EB Designs has generously set out four fat packs of items for us too. One fat pack is the Easter: Little White Bunny. Inside you’ll find this adorable white bunny cameo purse as well as a matching bracelet and necklace plus the beautiful ‘Joy of Easter’ blooming cherry branches and eggs arrangement vase and a lovely delicate console table to display them on.  The little clutch purse attaches to your hand but I set it out to show off.

The EB Designs Cart is one you will not want to miss out on!

ettaMaybe if I turn a bit to the side.. can you see the resemblance now?

My dress is like my mum’s though. If you like it, you can get one just like it at Lemania Indigo Designs. It’s not pricey.. just 1 L$ is all it’ll set you back. Gotta hurry though, because she’s takin’ down the old styles and gettin’ ready to bring the new ones out. This one’ll be gone tomorrow.

Dany’s for men and Women

I picked up these outfits a while ago.. and they have sat in my inventory until now. They’re exactly my style too: olde-timey, Victorian, frilly. The dollarbies in Dany French Touch change rather frequently, but these lovely clothes were still available as of this post. Dany’s also has a lucky chair with outfits for both men and women.. and I love the blue outfit that is in the lucky chair right now.

danysWhile you’re there, take the time to explore the sim, it’s quite pretty and I understand they have homes available for lease.

More from Chemical Kisses

After I made this post about the very reasonably priced gowns at L-AIXIOSE, I recieved a nice note from Flaran Riggles, about two more shops owned by the same shop keeper with even more dollarbies and oodles of gowns that are all priced under 100L$.

I hadn’t been to this part of Caledon before, and I wasn’t disappointed as it’s a pretty as all the Caledon sims. I could wander all day, just admiring the well kept lawns, and cleverly executed gardens here.

But on to the dresses..

caledonThe first is really almost a full avatar, as t includes a skin and shape. I’ve used the skin in these pictures, but the shape shown is my normal “Shang” shape. I can wear different skins, haircolour and styles, different eyes.. even ears and faun legs but I just don’t feel right in a different shape. Go figure. The dress on the right is much more opulent– it’s really for a night out on the town.

This is a teleport to the first shop, where I got the dollarbie dresses shown above. To get to the second shop, go out of the front door, turn left and climb the stairs. At the top of the stairs you will find the other shop on the left.

To-a-T

Looking for that perfect day dress to wearing while looking at all the Christmas decorations before they disappear till next year? Well To-A-T might have just the dress you’re looking for, and if you’re pinching L$ right now (aren’t we all?), you’ll be glad to hear that this dress and hat won’t cost you a single L$.

The catch?

You have to visit two very scenic sims to pick up both parts. You pick up the hat in To-A-T’s Port Babbage shop, and the Dress in their Caledon Eyre shop. Caledon Eyre uses a central teleport point. When you arrive, turn to face east, To-A-T will be the first shop on your left.

Here’s a close-up of the fabulous hat.

There are some great deals to be found in Port Babbagem including a Lucky Chair with parts for a mechanical man avatar,  some dresses from House of Burtesque, and some cool Winter Holiday D’Fly Pumps from Xcentricity (1L$).. but hurry on these if you want them, they may be gone soon.

Pretty Dresses from L’AIXOISE

More pretty dresses, and with the New Year’s galas that will be happening across the grid, can a girl really have too many gowns?

Of course not.

Fortunately, L-‘AIXIOSE is here to help with two dollarbies and a shop filled with dresses that are all under 100L$. These are nicely done Victorian style gowns (with a few thrown in that will please goth clothing fans) — some formal, some day dresses. but all gorgeous! I picked up these two doallarbies there.

Hair in the picture on the left is Tenta from Stringer Mausolem, and on the right I am wearing Gypsy from World’s Apart.

Wonderful Gowns from Wunderlich

Teagan Blackthorne showed me a wonderful hairstyle from Wunderlich that she’s blogged here. Loving period clothes and hairstyles the way I do, I had to visit the shop. To my delight, there were two pretty gowns for me to pick up.. for absolutely free!

From the notecard provided with the gown below: The Victorian ball- or dinner dress freebie was made using photos of an actual existing, extant dress using a special software and technique for seamless, photorealistic textures. It’s mostly historically correct (whereas ‘mostly’ is due to the fact that there are shaping restrictions in SecondLife…) for a period around 1860-65.

gown1The other gown available from Wunderlich is a very pretty gown that is appropriate for the wamer months. This gown also includes a system skirt that can be worn in lieu of the prim skirt in sims where lag might be an issue.

The wonderful Croc necklace shown in the pictures is by our very own Farah Palmer. You can pick it up in her store, Ruffian, for 1L$.

wunderlich

And what does a girl wear with period gowns? Why these gorgeous shoes from Laughing Academy of course! They’re available at the Candy Land location for a limited time.
