The Perfect Excuse

Here’s the story.  I was on my way to a party that happened to be in the  middle of a forest.  And then the cabbie let me out in what was clearly the wrong spot, and here I am, not dressed for the weather again in an icy, albeit very pretty locale.  Now if only I could get some reception on my phone I might make my way to the eggnog that has my name written all over it.

Bonfire of the Vanities

To be honest, I really really really just wanted to take a picture at The Forest sim, because every year it’s my favourite place to take photos during the holidays.  The twinkling lights, the deep blue skies, the towering trees… oof, it gets me right in the chimichangas every time.  Anywhos,  This month’s round of Vanity has some fun gifts for members of their free to join group!  You’ll find a swirly Christmas tree right in the middle of the room with gifts on it, and there are some really nice ones.  Here’s what I grabbed:

The Search for Hot Chocolate

I’m just heading out into the woods to find a cute little place to get a hot chocolate.  I dunno, maybe it’s a skiing thing…I don’t really know how this whole “great outdoors” thing works.  Lucky for me, in SL it is completely normal to show up at a cabin in the woods to get a hot drink while wearing a rather skimpy little dress.  What, it’s plausible!

A Chill Wind

Holiday Road

It’s that time of year…

Grab the hack saw and load up the Family Truckster because it’s time to go pick out a Christmas tree. I’ve never had as much bad luck as Clark Griswold, but there have been a few times…  Anyhow, at least there is a coffee stand here to warm me up before the hunt begins.

I was sent out for more firewood, but I really didn’t mind. I enjoy the stillness of a peaceful snowy morning. I even took some time to sit on a fallen log and listened to the deafening silence. I hope she doesn’t get too cold waiting for more kindling for the fire…

A Cabin in the Woods

 

One can dream…

One of my secret fantasies (no this isn’t getting naughty, sorry) is to be snowed in at a remote cabin. There is something very rustic about this dream (of course I would need internet). With plenty of books to read and watching the snow fall out the window, I believe it would be quite enjoyable for me…

Dreams aren’t the only things free…

I stopped by The Menstuff Lounge and found that the sim has once again changed. All the gift for all the ‘Stuff groups are on display along the street.  I happened across the gift provided by Tiffany Designs. The Andrew Casual Outfit includes the shirt, pants and shoes in sizes XS-XL, and looks warm enough for the coldest cabin.  While the gift is FREE, The Menstuff group does have a one time join fee of 50L.

One Magical, Misty Morning

Hello there, FabFree Readers!  I’m Kathryn Vayandar, one of the two newest bloggers for Fabulously Free, but you can call me Kat.  A long time Second Life resident (8 years…..practically an SL senior citizen, but don’t get the walker ready yet!), I’m a dedicated bargain hunter and I’m excited to share my shopping adventures with you.

Today, my puppy and I took a stroll on a quiet country road in The Forest, an enchanted woodland sim that hosts a shopping event each month.  While Ripley wandered off, happily sniffing out bunny trails, I paused, enjoying the misty morning light, clad in the first Fabulous Find I’d like to share with you.  Knowing the day would quickly warm up, I chose to wear the cute, knotted top from Hottest Fashion’s gift for Third Life members.  The Melanie Set also includes a pair of white, high-waist shorts, but since the morning air was brisk, I donned a pair of sleek, leather pants from Greane Design which I discovered on The Marketplace for only 69 lindens.  My comfy Tawny Sandals from Slipper Originals and The Shadow Lord Choker (a free gift from Ronsem) blogged here by Love Trill, completed my ensemble.  The necklace is an older gift, but it is one of my favorite casual pieces and is still available, so I thought I’d mention it in case you might be interested.
