As some of yall might remember, the RL Hubby and I were trying to find and buy a house, then move from New York back home to Oklahoma City. And now I can say “Mission Accomplished”!
We found a great older house that needs some serious love and repair so that’s been all I could handle for the last few weeks. But, of course, I had to make things much more interesting and I went and broke my foot! And that required a surgery and loads of healing time. But I got cleared by my Doc today to wear my walking boot for just one more week then I’m freeeee!
And what better way to celebrate my impending freedom than by returning to the Blog and my wonderful FabFam? Plus, I saw this awesome outfit from Blue Moon Enterprise and had to grab it and show it off.
This is the “Harvest Dress” and you can grab it for freewith your BMefree group tag. I love the Victorian/Edwardian look. I think it’d go great with a steampunk look too! The jacket and dress are separate pieces with the lace under shirt attached to the skirt. The vest (under the jacket in my pic) comes with a four color HUD. Hey Fab Fam! Today is Tuesday and you know that means 25L Tuesday is here! And there are so many things today to get excited about. I do love me some Steampunk and both Goth1c0 and Cyberfactory are feeding my obsession today.
My spiffy new lid is from Goth1c0. This is the “Lilay Steampunk Hat” and of course, it’s 25L for today. I love the details with the gears and goggles. Classic Steamy-ness. The hat is unisex and can be easily resized.
My little friend is also a 25L offering. This is “CuteRobot’ from Cyberfactory and he is absolutely adorable! You get a fatpack with four colors for the 25L. He happily sits on your shoulder and waves to passers by. He just looks so mischievous to me!

Here we go, FabFree! It’s Friday and this weekend for me is all RP and Fantasy all day! I’m wandering the Fantasy Faire and doing the Quest and everything. To get warmed up for this magical weekend, I visited ne of my favorite RP stores on the Grid: Cog and Fleur. If you haven’t visited before I highly encourage it. They have lovely RP and Vintage clothes and accessories galore!
Like this beautiful free Group Gift ball gown. This is the “1890’s Butterfly Ballgown” in Morpho Blue. And true to it’s word there are beautiful blue butterflies all over. In the gift you get the gown, the earrings, the choker and a pair of gorgeous Victorian evening shoes. Plus you get BoM underthings – two chemises and stockings. Good afternoon, FabFree. One of my absolute favorite Hunts has come ’round again: The Steam Hunt. This year’s theme is Steampunk Pirates which only increased my enthusiasm as I often consider myself something of a … well, pirate is such a negatively charged word. Let’s say ‘privateer’ instead. With that in mind, I headed over to the local pub for a drop of ale. Or should I say grog.
The latest staple for my adventuring wardrobe is from Contraption and its free for the Steam Hunt. As with everything I have encountered from Contraption the ‘Atreus Frock coat’ is a stunning build. Every detail is perfection. I anticipate wearing this quite often.
The Steam Hunt has over 90 ports of call for the intrepid hunter but you only have until the 28th of March to hoist the black flag and set sail.
Okay, FabFree… all together now… “THANK YOU ALINE!!!!!”
And why, you may ask, are thanking Aline? Other than the fact that she is an awesome person, and a really awesome Blogger, annnd she keeps us all going hereon the blog? Because A few days ago she popped over and poked me about the Engine Room Event. I had forgotten all about it! She even said “There’s a ton of stuff there that just scream “Juli!” And wow, she is so right! I even found a gorgeous Gacha set for Gabe.

This is the “Abigale Set” from Devious Minds. It’s a 75L per play Gacha at the Engine Room. I can’t tell you how much I love this set. The flirty ruffle skirt, the blouse with full sleeves, and boots and the corset are all separate pieces. Plus I was lucky enough to pull the Rare Corset. In all there are a ton of colors for the items and I may be heading back to see if I can pull a couple more colors. Yep, I like it that much!

Now Pru showed y’all a bunch of the free gifts at this anniversary round of Engine Room. I had to include a couple more in my outfit. First are my really cool sun glasses. These are the “Round Glasses” from Art & Gears and they are free to everyone in the free to join Second Life Syndicate group. My cute gears choker is another free gift at the event from Rabbithouse.
Get Wrecked
Gabriel’s handsome shirt and vest combo is another great Engine Room Gacha. This is the “Gentlesteam” from Rekt. The shirt and vest are done as a combo but each shirt comes with either a black tie or a tie the same color as the vest. His steams and gears new arm is also from the Gentlesteam gacha. The mechanical arms come in several metals and in the left or right versions. All that for an easy 50L per pull.
Anyone who tells you Time Travel is a science, and not an artform, is a scoundrel. It is and must be both. You need to be able to finesse your way through multiple realities and get the calculations correct. For now, I’m going to slice through the curtain of time and get myself out of this Jurassic nightmare before one of these giant prehistoric lizards decides I might be a delicious meal. Safe travels my fellow voyagers.
The Engine Room
Purely by happenstance I visited the Engine Room event. Lo and behold, it’s an Anniversary round! You guessed it, that means free gifts. Lots and lots of amazing free gifts. The theme is steampunk and the gifts are free with the Second Life Syndicate group tag. The group is free to join. I got all of them, and would have loved to show all of them to you, but that would just be tedious for everyone. Instead, I put together my Time Traveler look using the Engine Room gifts from Eudora3D, Apricot Paws, Wicca’s Originals, Deadly Nightshade, and Lux Aeterna.

I think this hat from Eudora3D is possibly one of the coolest hats I’ve ever owned, and it’s absolutely free. The Witch Hunter hat is incredibly detailed. It comes with a hud that lets you change the metal parts gold or silver, and adjust the position and size of the hat. You’ll find this freebie waiting for you at the Engine Room event. Don’t forget the Second Life Syndicate tag.
Apricot Paws
My very Victorian-like blouse by Apricot Paws is also free at the Engine Room. It fits beautifully and I love the subtle pinstripes. This shirt comes in a tucked and a not tucked version for multiple wear options. This gift also has a hud that lets you adjust the color of the bow, the buttons, and metal bits.
The Havoc Mask is the freeEngine Room Anniversary gift by Wicca’s Originals. This super cool accessory is unisex in that it comes in a male sizes as well as a female size. The details are awesome, and it fit me perfectly, however there are resize scripts in the masks.
Deadly Nightshade
I think this clockwork mechanism halo piece by Deadly Nightshade is so cool. Not only does it look cool with all the great details, it also has moving parts. The pieces attach separately so that they move independent of each other. That also means they can be worn all together or separately. This freeEngine Room gift was the initial inspiration for creating a Time Traveling character.
Lux Aeterna
The golden scalpel and scissors by Lux Aeterna together are the first Engine Room gift I unpacked and knew I had to do something with them. They are gorgeous aesthetically, and have a macabre element that I really like. They also have these really awesome bento hold poses, that are just icing on the cake. You’ll find them for free at the Engine Room. Again, don’t forget to join the free Second Life Syndicate group and wear the group tag to get the gifts.

Hello Faboulouses! I don’t know if any of you readers are familiar with the book and musical Wicked, but this post was based on it. The novel’s protagonist, called Elphaba, is based on the wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz. Now I look just like her- witchy green skin and all- except I’m in steampunk attire too! I’ll be showing off this green skin 75 L promo, some morefreebies from the steam hunt and a free hair in this post. Buckle up; this is a long one!
First off- my outfit is the prize from Destiny’s Designs. The top is a system top I have applied using bakes on mesh (BOM), and the skirt comes in fitmesh and mesh standard sizes (S-XL) which will fit a variety of mesh avatars with some help from your alpha hud. The lantern I am holding is one of five prizes from Pixel Box on the hunt. I also used one of the “Steampunk poses” from Razmatazin this shot.
The gate in behind me is the prize from Sweet Revolutions– it can be rezzed anywhere and be used for landscaping or sim-building- how cool is that!
This dashing hat, which includes a top hat for men as well, is the prize from Dragon Lady’s Closet and you can find these chic boots from the prize box from Prism Designs. Underneath my skirt, I am wearing some lovely omega applier tights which are in the hunt gift from Adele Arts.
Estha & Osha
I stumbled across a promo at Ritual Skins right now, where you can get 2 skins for the low price of 75 Linden. I am currently wearing the BOM version of the skin, but it also comes with a number of head appliers, body appliers, ear appliers and omega if you haven’t switched over to BOM yet. The skin comes in 2 shades: Estha and Osha, and you can wear the skin with freckles, without freckles and with black or white brows. I am currently wearing Estha. The skin can be worn as part of a fantasy outfit and the duo even includes elf or faerie ears. The shade of both skins is green, and it’s really beautiful. It reminds me of the character Elphaba from the book and musical Wicked, which I love. This green skin duo will be 75L until Midnight SLT on Friday, March 27th. As far as I know, there will be a weekly promo at Ritual for this prize so keep an eye out- especially if you love fantasy skins.

Hey Fab Free! Did you know that the Steam Hunt is going on right now? It is a super fun hunt which on for the whole month of March. It is one of the longest-running hunts in SL and it’s also the only steampunk-themed hunt left on the grid. Yesterday I did some hunting at the Steam Expo, where there is a sim-wide hunt game. All of the free décor gifts shown here are hunt prizes you can get from this gear hunt game.
The Gear Game
The Steam Hunt/Expo’s gear hunt game is really fun! What you do is teleport to the start location of the hunt where you will grab a gear games HUD on the wall. Unpack the HUD and attach it to your screen. Now you will run around all over the expo sim and look for the bronze coloured gears, and click them with your HUD on. The bronze or copper-coloured gears will give you points, and if you click silver gears that will take away your points- so don’t click the silver ones! The gears just pop up randomly, so look all around! You want to accumulate as many points as you can and you can check your point count on the HUD.
Points for Prizes
Once you have lots of points, you can exchange them for prizes. Each prize costs from 1 to 30 points each, and it is quite easy to win enough points to get all the prizes around the sim. In different creators’ booths around the sim, there will be writing in yellow over the prizes which states how many points each one costs. The HUD and the game is completely free to play, so whatever prizes you get will be a free addition to your inventory. There are 35 prizes in total that I could find.
Steam Hunt XV Store-Wide Hunt
Note that the gears game hunt is a sim-wide hunt in addition to their grid-wide hunt. The gears game hunt featured in this blog post is part of the hunt, but they have a larger grid-wide hunt too! So there are basically two hunts part of the Steam XV Expo/Hunt event this month. If you want to do their grid-wide hunt please visit the Historical Hunt Ltd. website for a list of stores. The hunt prizes are available to find until March 31st. The grid-wide hunt is also a 0L, completely free hunt.

Since I was feeling all punkish, I figured my hair should get steamed too. I went through my hair collection and figured I’d just pop on some goggles and call it good. Then I thought, “Check the Marketplace?” And I scored with this great monocle and top hat hair style from EMO-tions (Marketplace) for only five little Lindens; “Mono.” It is an older building style but you do get the full fatpack. Plus, each piece of the style is wearable separately. So if the hair doesn’t tickle you, you can wear just the monocle or just the hat.
