Eat the Darn Cake

Sometimes you just need to let go and eat the cake. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Definitely not afraid of a little indulgence, I happily gave in to my sweet-tooth and picked up this delicious looking cake at Cinoe. Secondly, while this sweater isn’t the same sort of indulgence, it feels like a splurge of the same kind of self gratification. It’s a recent group gift at Sentinus. Christmas Time is Here

Where did the weekend go? By this time Friday it will be Christmas Day! Can you believe it? I’m half in denial myself. lol Two things that seem to go hand in hand for better or worse are Christmas and shopping. I finally worked my way through the behemoth that is the Holiday Shop & Hop event and as overwhelming as it can be, I have to admit it was worth it. My inventory now flooded with gifts, I thought I’d share a few with you.

If you’ve never gone to one of the Shop & Hop events before, there are a few things you should know. First, there’s no group needed for the gifts, just click the gift box at each of the designer’s booths. Second, there are eight sims to wander through. Yes, I said eight. As you can imagine, that’s a lot of shopping and hopping. For this post I chose to share the free Holiday Shop & Hop gifts by Eclectic Stars, Unicorn, and Infiniti. When it comes down to it, one of the labels that could be used to describe me (and I think most of us in SL) is “gamer.” Eclectic Stars put out the perfect Christmas sweater for any gamer girl as their free Shop & Hop gift. It has a Christmas tree on it made entirely of Space Invader-style aliens. :O So cute!

Snowfall

I’ve always thought of the notion of a first snowfall as something magical and wonderous, though admittedly that’s partly due to having experienced so few in my lifetime. That said, there are quite a few free gifts waiting on the Christmas tree inside the Cosmopolitan Sales event, and these delicate snow flurries by Persefona are my favorite. For this look I also picked up the free Cosmo gifts by Limited Addiction, IDTTY, and ARTE. I also happen to be wearing a cute little sweater dress by Rebel Hope that you can find inexpensively on the Marketplace. Keep reading for all the details.

Persefona

These pretty little snow flurries are an attachment by Persefona. You can get them for free at the Cosmo event by joining the event group and clicking the stockings on the Christmas tree just inside the entrance. The Cosmopolitan Sales event group is free to join. This wintery gift includes a resizer hud that lets you easily adjust the size of the snowy attachment.

Limited Addiction

My sassy cute knee-high socks and ankle boots are also free at Cosmo, courtesy of Limited Addiction. You’ll find them waiting on the Christmas tree with the many other free gifts. These sassy holiday themed shoes come with a texture change hud for the socks that lets you pick from a few holiday color combinations.

Become the Druid Wizard

It was like a whisper or was it just the wind. The voice I just heard, murmur in my ear. I continued working, finally after a long day, I retired to my bed. Was awoken from such a vivid dream. As my eyes opened the dream faded, all but a feeling, then the voice again. “You will embark on a journey across the grid. To find the pieces you need to become the Druid Wizard I seek.” I shook my head then fell fast asleep. I rose the next morning thinking nothing of my dream the night before. Again the voice whispered in my ear. “To Kitty Creations you must go, quickly you must embark on the journey. For in a fortnight’s time I will need you. Look upon the floor and follow the silver gargoyle tracks. They will lead thy to what it is you seek. A miniature charred looking gargoyle which holds your gift.”
Once I found my gift I went to open it. The voice told me nay, you need to find all the piece before you can open the gifts. Off to Lindy the voice sent me to look upon the The Renaissance Hunt poster for the mini gargoyle that harbored my hint. I traveled the grid scaling mountains, across lakes, over vast sims, large oceans, and treacherous passes. To Simply Shelby, Delightful Creations, and Sweet Revolutions. Finally my journey was nearing it’s end. I had gathered all the pieces to which I was sent to find. I opened them in order from the first found to the last.
I donned the leather red hooded jacket and black pants from Kitty Creations. Pulled on the worn red leather Druda shoes from Lindy. I yielded the crystal wizard staff from Simply Shelby. Before I could open the others I was told to enter the dark woods. Travel through them until I saw the mystic fog. Was to follow it, where I came upon a druid rock circle. There I opened my last to gifts. The Spinning Pentagram from Delightful Creations and the Magical Crystal Of Lunimba from Sweet Revolutions.
They seemed to both spring from the boxes and move magically into place at the center of the stone circle. I was drawn onto the pentagram near the Crystal of Lunimba. I held up the staff and my hand. Before I knew it I was chanting the crystal was glowing and magical sparks filled the air. Swirling around me zodiac rune symbols appeared. Out of thin air a mystical pentagram formed in my hand. I had finally become the Druid Wizard to which the voice sought.

Hello there Fab Free’rs! I was one of those kids that spent way too much time afraid of being called a nerd. I’d hide my love of books, fantasy, and anything that might label me as geeky, nerdy, or dorky. The funny thing is, all that hiding never gained me any popularity either. Now that I’ve fully embraced my nerdiness it’s pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself! Alongside my nerdy adoration of books I love fashion and can get especially geeky about a great bargain.

TRS Designs

For this look I picked up the free Stay at Home Club gift dress at TRS Designs. I have to say this dress is even cuter on than it is in photos. I really wish I’d picked this one up sooner. It has the loose fit of a t-shirt dress, with the added details of leather-like straps that come together in a Y shape in the back. I’m also loving the wine red and slate grey tie-dye. I also don’t think it’s a secret that I love tattoos. DAPPA has been a recent favorite tattoo shop of mine. This heavily detailed upper body tattoo is the newest group gift at DAPPA and I’m geeking out about how great it looks. It’s a unisex tattoo with several appliers and BOM layers each with the choice of a fresh or faded look. A ‘o ia!

I’d been dreaming of a seaside escape for weeks and Blue and I finally took a moment away from all the hustle and bustle of the real world and spent an entire day enjoying the sun, surf, and sand. For some extra fun, surf lessons. Blue took to the waves like a duck to water, while I was a little less certain! Either way, we still had an amazing time out at Kanaloa Surf Beach.

Waiting is always hard, especially when I’m waiting for Blue to get home so I can attempt to beat him at air hockey. Backyard Cuddles

Pink Pru Bunny

I think everyone should know that I am seriously considering spending the rest of April in this pink bunny suit. Hello there Fab Free’rs! We are inching toward Easter, which in my opinion yields some of the best holiday candy of all the holidays; second only to Halloween.

Speaking of candy, Andika sent out this sweet pastel striped lollipop out in their notices not too long ago. It has a bento hold pose and the Andika group is free to join. As for my bunny suit, yes, it is every bit as comfortable as it looks. It’s also a free gift for Fabulously Free in SL group members by Tiar, and it happens to be unisex.
