To a Great and Supporting Creator

As I write this post I can feel myself tearing up. .EscalateD., which is one of my favourite stores of all time, is closing its doors on July 31st, 2022. .EscalateD. was the first creator to support me as a blogger and I have had the privilege of showing their unique and beautiful hairstyles over the years. .EscalateD. has to have been one of the most generous hair creators to contribute to the freebie community over the years and the store will be missed dearly by her devoted fans. I hope that on whatever journey Dolphin Ayres embarks on after this that she finds great fulfillment and happiness in her RL and SL. ❤

Solaris

I am wearing Solaris today, which is my favourite hairstyle of all time from .EscalateD. It’s so beautiful. I love the detailing in the braids and the stones. This is a classic work from this wonderful creator. The hairstyle includes a style hud and a Universal Colour Hud in naturals and unnaturals colours, which work on all of the hairstyles sold in the store.

Glam Workout…Without the Working Out

Hey Fabbies! I have a fun look today of workout clothes and sweat pants meets glam… and I threw in some limes too. Ha!

A quiet place

Good evening, Fabulous Readers. As I’m sure you already know, Second Life’s 19th Birthday is going strong and there are many many free gifts to be had at the Shop & Hop. Sadly, there aren’t many offerings this round for the men but I did ferret out a good gift from Vagrant. You may be forgiven for thing Vagrant has nothing for men as the booth shows only women’s clothing. But, at the main store there are some very nice things for the guys. While the selection is small, the quality is high and I thoroughly enjoy spending my free Shop & Hop 500L Gift Card there. 

Simply collect your free store credit at the Shop and Hop booth then follow the LM to the main store. Right now, everything in the store is 50% off but it still allows you to use the store credit! ( That may change quickly as the 50% sale was scheduled to end yesterday but was still going at the time of this post) I was able to pick up several things including the pants, top and hat I’m sporting in the photograph. The gift does not mention an expiration date but I wouldn’t tempt fate.

A Cabinet of Curiosities

The first scene I created with these great freebies is a Cabinet of Curiosities, which can be seen at the top of my post. For those who haven’t heard of them before, a “Cabinet of Curiosities” or “Curio Cabinet” was a collection of strange and bizarre objects, artifacts, and furnishings that wealthy people used to collect in Europe in the 19th century. Pretty cool! This is not a true curio cabinet, but in the spirit of SL19B’s steampunk theme, I wanted to at least reference my favourite historical time period and throw in some steampunk decor and skulls into the mix. If you didn’t know already, I am obsessed with that time period and the steampunk subculture is connected to that. The free exclusive steampunk gifts [QE Home] has out at their SL19B booth are:

• A free steampunk painting with a thick wooden frame. You can change the frame and the canvas to six different options using the artwork’s menu when you click it.
• The steampunk rug set is also free, and you can change the textures of the rugs to several different options using the rug’s menu when you click it.

Coastal Decor

The other scene I created from these great home and decor gifts is this little coastal decor arrangement.

• There is a free banana plant in the gift pack. You can change the colours of the pot and the plant leaves using the objects’ menu when you click it.
• The lanterns are both free and come in a set. You can change the colour of each lantern to aqua or coral by using the objects’ menu when you click it.

Summery Shimmer

Summer always makes me want to wear bright colours.  Orange isn’t necessarily one of my go-tos, but there’s something about a warm, iridescent orange is really lovely and summery.  Pair it with a cold drink, and you’ve got a great Saturday night!
